Very usefull video..many engineers might be working without knowing the basics..but you explained the diagnostics very well in a detailed manner which helps to build strong foundation on UDS..Thank you for sharing the knowledge😊
UDS is used in both the cases... On-board diagnostics (OBD) refers to a system that is built into the vehicle or system being diagnosed. This system continuously monitors the operation of various components and systems, and can detect and store fault codes when a problem is detected. OBD systems are usually accessed through a diagnostic connector located inside the vehicle, and can be read using a diagnostic tool or scan tool. Off-board diagnostics (OBD) refers to a diagnostic system that is external to the vehicle or system being diagnosed. Off-board diagnostics are often used for more complex diagnostics or for performing certain diagnostic functions that cannot be performed using the on-board diagnostic system. These systems typically involve connecting a diagnostic tool or scan tool to the vehicle or system being diagnosed, and communicating with the system using a standardized communication protocol such as UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services).

I hope I'm not wrong but 2E and 3D services are not available in default session.Correct me if I'm wrong.
Yeah.. But again it depends on the importance of that data. There are some DIDs which you can still write in Default Session. But not all...
