Ryan, this is my favorite video series on the whole UA-cam universe. Thanks for having me over. Every time you ask one of the viewers to hold something, or "clean that up" I really feel like I should just jump up and help.... But, here I sit in my chair, being a lazy bum.
Your ability to build from scratch on the fly from cutting down the trees to milling to creating the vision in your head is awesome, and not to be forgotten is your video and commentary skill, but your skill set designing and working with canvas is over the top, extremely well done, I look forward to your video's every week :)
You might not think the canvas sides are your greatest piece of work but it looks really good to me. Great work as usual I always think your work is great. I’m so excited to see the furniture you’re going to built. I always like watching you , are always so calm and you never let anything discourage you from achieving your goals.
Oh I’m sorry I forgot to tell you what an excellent job you are doing that’s the best looking shower. I’ve seen in any woods I’ve ever been in God bless. ❤
man looks good i was not thinking it would look that good . but i dont make stuff like that so ya know . after its all closed in man its going to be nice not only will it make a great shower it might even make a great sauna . just set in there and steam out . not so sure about the heater to be honest . all that wet damp moist yeah so on . might not be good for that buddy heater . but what do i know ? ether way its alot of fun to watch you make stuff like this .most sewing i ever did was when i was real young like 11 or 12 . my cousin said come on let me teach you how to sew every good man should know how . yeah later i found out she tricked me into sewing quilt blocks for her for like a week lol . but i did learn something lol . any way great job as always cant wait for next weeks you know its hard waiting all week for a new video . im wearing the old videos out man . hope you had a wonderful Christmas and the very happiest of new years brother . take care work safe .
thank you for the last years video's, I'm looking forward to seeing your exploits in the new year to come, I wish you your family and friends all the very best for the new year
You never cease to amaze me. I have a Home Economics degree and I swear you can sew better than me! 😊 I love how multi talented you are while listing to podcasts, etc. you should start your own UA-cam channel! Ha! Ha! I love every video you make. At 75 I’m still a girly girl, but I sure would have love to have done some of the things you’ve done. Never stop learning!!!
Love your energy and your style of delivery. One of my top favorite youtubers. Not that my opinion matters but I would love to see you build a Native American canvas teepee, it would be cake for somebody with your canvas skills. And if you were really ambitious you could wax the whole thing and make it "tin cloth" and it would repel water and last for years and years.
I love all the progress your making on your homestead, the shower is fabulous, soon you will be living in your cabin, will be nice to be able to bring your food inside where it’s warm
I'm a sewist hobbiest and you are exactly right about matching grains or the light hits it differently. :) If you had an iron you might have been able to relax your tight stitching, but it might loosen up over time being stretched out on the shower. If your shower is south facing you should get a lot of passive solar in there. Great job on your lil bath house.
Beautiful job on the canvas with plastic windows! Sure tell you’ve done that before.. Like your industrial sewing machine.. Perfect for sewing canvas and plastic 👍. Canvas should help keep the heat in when your showering! Another great project finished! Close to the end👍 B Deacon Manitoba Canada 🇨🇦
Talk about a dichotomy of skill sets. Building with a chain saw is so coarse and rough and pattern making is a fine art full of details. I would bet a lot that there are very few people in this world with both of those skills. As always, I find myself glued to the screen for another Ringworm video. Thanks for sharing.
Love the channel bro. I’ve found this exact state of mind and having fun on my property too. You’re a lot funnier and smarter than me which is kind of depressing but good stuff
That shower would be great make a wall that you can just push out an prop open! Okay I love the canvas better! Never mind! I love watching you videos, can’t wait for the next one
Is there anything you can't do??? LOL I would love to see a full documentary of your life. Where you came from, your experiences, education, and just life in general. You are a fascinating man Ryan. I always look forward to your weekly uploads to see what you will build or create next. Thank you for sharing with everyone! 😘🤗
Lots of skills there, sir. I've done a small bit of the same, but mostly furniture recovering. And not much of that. My Grandpa recovered furniture for a living. The other did millwork. I leaned a bit toward the millwork. Looks great. As far as sealing the building for heat retention, I wouldn't, personally. Get it warm enough to shower and dry off, but allow airflow to keep the mold growth to a minimum. Again, just my 2 cents, and with inflation? Well, you know what that's worth.
It kind of blows my mind that there's this guy ... with a chain saw.. just sitting out in the woods.... in winter yet. .. just sewing away. and I get to watch! How wild is that?
Do you think in 50 years when someone walks upon your compound that they’ll wonder what kind of fugitive from justice used to live there? Kidding of course. Just love watching your videos, Worm.
I used to own a canvas awning company. One trick I learned was to use a regular office stapler to staple pieces together, especially folds , to hold them for sewing. Staples remove easily and leave no trace. Great time saver. Looks great ! Good job!
Very happy New Year. Thank you for all the hard work you share with us. The laughs and entertainment are such a big deal on dreary days and every Saturday I look forward to your visit. Stay well and warm buddy 🥰🇨🇦 👵 🐶
Gotta give you credit! As good as you are in explaining things you have no clue about, you also do an excellent job on things you are proficient at. I had no clue about doing canvas work but, today I probably learned just enough to be dangerous 😂. Keep up with your adventure my friend 😜.
Happy New Year! You truly are a man of many talents. I love your slippers ;-). Here’s to a wonderful 2023 and many more adventures & videos from the Worm.
I had a marine repair and restoration company. I had customers asking for canvas work all the time. I would take their old canvas to an Amish guy to make new ones. I would fit it and put the snaps on. I have the same snap tool as yours. I would love to make canvas for boats. I dunno where I would learn it. I have an enclosed flybridge on an Egg Harbor that needs new glass. Great video.
Happy new year you fantastic forest hobo, you make my Saturday mornings great every week: I always make time for myself, get away from everybody, get my breakfast ready and just chill to the entire video. I hope we get to see your adventures and builds throughout 2023! I wish you health and success so you can live the dream we all have: living simple in the middle of nowhere!
Shower is coming along great. I sew but have not worked with the clear plastic. You gave me some good pointers with the double sided tape. Glad you have a warm place to work on projects. Stay safe. Happy New Year!
Ryan, you are doing a lot of what I have done in the past. I designed and built my cabin also. It has taken me 10 years to get it done and now I have water septic and lastly electricity. The point I wanted to make is you will never be warm in your cabin until you insulate your floor. I went with the blow on foam and then put a skirt all around the bottom of cabin. Last I blew foam on inside of skirting. I am finally warm in my cabin.
Your making things on the fly are amazing. I think the shower Windows turned out beautiful. Your skills are awesome, great job on the whole cabin build to. Stay safe a nd be well my friend. Have a great one. Love Bob Bitchin!!
You need to read up on the tension settings on your machine. It will stop that lettuce edge and puckering. Adjustments need to be made when you have different thicknesses. I’m sure your using heavy duty needles but I’m guessing your canvas is going to make it dull pretty quick. Looks great!!
Another hidden gem of craftsmanship. It looks awesome. The windows looked awesome. I didnt realize that glass was even a thing. My ex is an upholsterer and i have seen him create beautiful things , My favorite was probably , a cast iron bathtub turned in to a loveseat.
Loving your sewing machine - looks really simple to use unlike the Toyota one I got - results you got look really sweet too Thank you very much for sharing
Ryan...I am now caught up. Found your channel starting the foundation of the cabin. After you finished I think #115 or so, I went back to #1 and have watch all the episodes. Have enjoyed your channel greatly and amazed what can be done with a chainsaw. Till the cabin build, my favorite was the gazebo. I'm passed the prime of doing what you are doing, but sure enjoy seeing you do all those things and look forward to what you will come up with next. Hang in there and be safe out there by yourself.
Ryan, I don't know if you're aware, but tar never really stops off-gassing. That's why you can't paint over it. When it does stop gassing, it's dry, hard, grey, and your grandkids problem. Not sure exactly about the product you're using, but petroleum based tar is kinda underrated.
The canvas shower sides look awesome. Have you thought of getting a Joolca Hottap portable water heater, would be perfect for you outdoor shower, it comes as a complete kit and would be perfect for where you live.
On your exterior wall boards... tack up a 1x2 horizontally just below each gap, for your router guide. use a 45 degree router bit and router your caulk seam. Then apply the roof caulking as you did all the other routered edges.
That was awesome. Truly. Just so you know for future, your fabric was stretching differently because you cut the triangle pieces 'against the grain'. The bias cut will stretch quite a bit more. Either way, it looks great.
Ryan, great work! The gap at the front of the canvas could be covered by a one inch wide thin strip of scrap wood the covers the edge of the canvas and would be secured with three screws only on the wood. It would look balanced and provide a wind/heat barrier. Easy to remove when the canvas comes down for the summer.
hello from the Netherlands . maybe also a good idea to make as many plastic windows as possible above the doorway to get as much daylight as possible into the shower so that it doesn't get too dark inside . Happy New Year and hope to see you again in 2023 thanks for the video Ryan . Sincerely Hollandduck
Oh my gosh! Watching you sew those canvas panels was so satisfying! I can't wait till you upload the video for the front panel. I am all giddy waiting for the zippers. You rock!
Shower is looking amazing...this would have been my first project, along with a fully functioning enclosed bathroom :D I can't imagine taking a shower in cold
Cool design. Sailrite sewing machines and accessories are top notch! My family made custom sailboat mast and hatch covers as well as custom pop up trailer canvas tops.
Makes sense now A seamstress chainsaw milling cabin builder. Now I understand the jigsaw puzzle siding. Grin
Reading books, listening to edifying podcasts, dreaming up designs, while playing in the woods. Sounds like a plan.
Ryan, this is my favorite video series on the whole UA-cam universe. Thanks for having me over. Every time you ask one of the viewers to hold something, or "clean that up" I really feel like I should just jump up and help.... But, here I sit in my chair, being a lazy bum.
Hey.. I feel moral support is a real thing... so...GOOD JOB. 👍
Your ability to build from scratch on the fly from cutting down the trees to milling to creating the vision in your head is awesome, and not to be forgotten is your video and commentary skill, but your skill set designing and working with canvas is over the top, extremely well done, I look forward to your video's every week :)
It's all just wow cos the guys got serious skills
I'd like to subscribe to your all things heavy duty sewing machine class please.

My favorite day of the week, seeing new Ringworm videos!
Have a trade you never go hungry. Knowing how to use canvas and heavy duty sewing machine, is endless as your imagination is

Ryan I am seriously impressed with your crafting skills! I had no idea you were so talented sewing!
Dude, your wood projects and how you go about milling your own wood are impressive enough. Today, you put me in awe. Excellent work my man!!
Check you out all warm and comfy in your slippers... LOL The shower looks great!
