I love my ZFold 2 ! Best phone that has ever been created, I still can't believe I have a phone in my pocket that folds from a normal phone to a tablet amazing
I've had my Z Fold 2 now for almost 2 weeks, and I legitimately don't know if I could ever go back to a normal phone. I never get that feeling of needing to wait to view a particular thing until I am at a bigger display. And I am definitely using my other tablet and laptop devices a whole lot less. The experience on the Fold is surprisingly comfortable for just about everything.
@@francolazzuri2476 Yes I have a folding bluetooth keyboard that I"ve used with it on occasion. Accessories like that definitely improve the productivity of a device like this.
I had the original fold on day one release date almost a year with no scratches or anything. Until I took it to a Samsung fix it center to get latest updates. The tech poked a minor hole in screen with something. After a few days I had a black dot on the screen. Contacted Samsung. Sent in and they replaced for free under 1 year warranty. Pretty nice. Now I have the z fold 2. Happy but think I'm going to remove protector also. Great review!!

I'm pretty much sold on this thing, but the price is so ridiculous. $1,000 would be an instant buy for me. I'd have a really big problem paying $1500 for it. But $2,000? That's just ludicrous.
It's still only generation 2 of the cutting edge of mobile technology and the price reflects that. Foldables will become more mainstream and better as time goes by. Using this phone over the last month, I definitely think this form factor is the future.
If you’re a Samsung user, just go through the upgrade finance program where you pay for half the price of the phone over 20 months and then send it back to be credited the remaining 1000 and you upgrade to the newest phone. That’s if you’re a good phone user and don’t throw it around like it’s your wallet
Just watched on my Z Fold 2. Haven't enjoyed a piece of tech so much since iPhone launch day. The OG phone and technical reviewer! Had to take off the outer screen protector as got a bubble. Like a different screen! Hope some decent glass screen protectors for that come out soon. With a one year old the internal one is staying on for now!

Amazing video. I learned a lot. I love this phone so much. It's been years since I've been excited about a phone and spent a stupid amount of money at launch... and I'm glad I did here :)
I'd rather keep the protector since I want to take extremely good care of the Z Fold 2 once I get it, though a glass screen brings a tad more quality than the plastic one.
You can also take the protector off and install a third party one. People usually complain about how hard it is to clean this screen protector on it, you could just fix that issue by applying a matte protector instead of the out of box one

Excellent breakdown of the display. Regarding the note 20 ultra, since you don't need high refresh rate when watching content, you can create a Bixby routine to auto switch the resolution and refresh rate when opening certain apps. I have all streaming apps open to qhd. Once I close it, switches back to 1080p/adaptive refresh rate. Still would be nice to not have to do that.
@sbcontt YT go to settings>advanced features>Bixby routines>hit the plus icon to create a new routine>set the if condition to 'app opened' and select the apps you want>hit next> set the then condition to motion smoothness and resolution> choose what you want> hit done. Make sure your battery performance is set to no higher than optimized. You'll notice a brief stutter when it changes, but it's fine afterward.
To anyone complaining about the crease: Do YOU ever PURPOSELY browse the web, watch a video, etc on your glass screen phone or tablet and think to yourself: "Let me make sure I have indoor lighting or outdoor sunlight shining or reflecting DIRECTLY on my screen while I use it."??? If your answer is NO, then the crease WON'T be visible on the Z Fold 2 under normal usage just like it's NOT visible on the 1st gen Galaxy Fold or the Z Flip under normal usage.
17:28 Look at how much visibility gets sacrificed in the game because of the 5:4 aspect ratio when she opens the Z Fold 2. You see way more of the game world on the outer smaller display thanks to the wider aspect ratio. Samsung needs to hurry up and make a Bi-Fold that has a wider aspect ratio on the inner foldable display.

I'm loving my Fold2, but having trouble with getting a cases that will bring this device into feeling as a practical and durable EDC... The Spigen Tough Armor Case looks like the case that will suit my expectations, but the delivery projection date, is as soon as early December. Today, Samsung's Amid case arrived from Verizon. The Amid case does fit well, has a kickstand and does give the back of the phone a fair amount of traction.The case is very thin and is only one piece, leaving out projection for the front of the Fold2. The projection from this case is minimal at best and more is about the kickstand and back cover scratch projection. All well, it's something for now! This device naked does challenge confidence when handling and unfolding, but boy oh boy, when I do get it securely unfolded, the beauty of that tablet screen has me feeling good about my efforts and the purchase of this device. Erica, thank you for evaluating the screen on the Fold2 and reporting the technical aspects of the factory screen protector. I have high regards, for your experience, knowledge and tips.

I am DEFINITELY GOING TO GET THIS WHEN THE PRICE DROPS. It came out for $2000, and after several months it is selling for a little over $1000USD, so once the Galaxy Fold 3 comes out this one should drop down in price. I figure I will pick this up when it gets to $600. As for now I am rocking my Mate 20X which remains a BEAST of a phone, but I think it is time to upgrade as it's been 2.5-3 years and it has Burn In Screen in it. So I think I will get the Xiaomi Mi 11 in a few weeks and then wait for this one. Anyways please look forward to a Long Term review of the Mate 20X, and as well as an unboxing of the Xiaomi Mi 11. Well since GoodLock is made by Samsung they didn't really remove the popup view option, they just added a toggle for it in GoodLock. No big deal, any true Samsung user uses GoodLock so :D

Miss, Ms. Griffen Who are you? Your awesome in giving tech info on a gadget. Before this Huawei US /China snafu I bought a Mate 20X because nobody had a candy bar 7.2 inch screen phone. I like a big screen phones. Let me be clear I like the Z fold 2 but not the steep price tag. On the flip side Huawei was suppose to come out with a open fold hinge phone the Mate X2. I want that phone how ever Google service would probably not be on it that and I'm so sad about. I'll keep using my Mate 20X. I have been impressed with the UI, battery life, clarity, build quality and quick response updates. Thanks for the Z fold 2 insight.

Do you find that most apps and websites are optimized for the 7.6 inch screen? What did you use the iPad for that you no longer use it? Did you depend heavily on the apple eco system? That’s my big issue, I have an iPhone, iMac, Apple Watch?
Blame Stock Android for the multitasking and app switching. Samsung did a way better job until they decided to follow stock Android. Thank God that Multistar exists im Goodlock to get back the old style.
I'm just about to pull the trigger on this beautiful foldable, the only thing I'm worried about is that I use my device the most for watching movies, youtube and twitch. That black bars kinda bother me. The other thing is about the durability of the screen cause I think it will eventually brake after some years of folds. Please help me decide beetween this and Oppo Find X2 pro. (I don't care about the price tag as I want to keep the new device for at least 4 years and enjoy it the most) Thank you for the awesome review I hope someone can help me =)
I love mine but camera is not better than my note 20 ultra which is a shame for a 2k phone,why Samsung?? Zfold battery is amazing for sure,phone lack of better n louder speakers.

hello. I removed the inner screen protector, and I love the feel of it. and the quality of the screen is amazing. I also have the note 20 ultra, and the screens look both amazing. almost same quality. but on fold is brighter! however I am very worried about dust scratches .... could dust particles, scratch the screen? I know its not glass.... however I love it the way it is. hope someone can increase my confidence....
hey you should do a performance test on phones! nobody else does it. I mean a proper one. using a slow motion camera and checking every frame and animations and how many times they skip and what the framerate actually is. my s20 sadly stutters and lags a lot... it's sad that Samsung still is leggy to this day
All these guys doing reviews all over i was shocked when I can across a women it was kinda nice to hear your voice saying things. Might be I have a fetish for girls with brains. But no matter what thank you for the information what you shared is a different way of looking at some of the features others cover...i kinda feel like you said showed it better. I will have mine very shortly, however, if it's glass under the screen protector once you remove it, couldn't I still use a liquid screen protector without the worry of getting inside? I used it on my phone and tablet, backed up with my Microsoft cloth.
Ok, I don't know anything about the science behind this, but is it possible to make plastic seamlessly transition into glass? So like the inner screen is all glass, except right at the crease where it's plastic but you can't tell? Kinda like \\\||/// if that makes sense
I had a fold 2 but sold it because of the hole punch and the lack of optimized apps. I hated not being able to use true full screen and having the black or white side bar in landscape mode... which was the best way to hold the phone with the back half only cases.

wish they'd just make both the phone and tablet mode wider. I don't get why it has to be so narrow when closed. They could at least try to make it fold the other way around?
How is multitasking on Samsung phones not intuitive? Them the recent menu you drag an app out somewhere and use it. To switch apps you go to your recent menu like a normal person. And then from there you can hit the little good button and open up any available app. It is intuitive you just have to actually use the features of the phone
very detailed review thanks so much I really ahted why samsung really did that kind of implementation about refresh rate in low light scenarios but it means that phones battery life could be so longer when screen on time increases I hope this is fixed until now?
I actually wish Samsung would have made the single plastic display two screens of normal glass and kept the seam as small and thin as possible. I would think it easier to engineer an almost seamless display than a glass screen that bends. Two screens may also be easier for developers to leverage for multitasking.
I just don’t find it all that useful. Is only good for pairs you use all the time or you will have a million pairs. It’s easier to just select apps on the fly.
I pulled that sticker off over a month ago and added liquid sceen protection all over even on the camera and zero scratches and i have dropped it boom 💥 😎 its still in great condition.

I’ve come to terms that I’m OCPD, the ideal of “perfection” and having no dead pixels, a warm tint to it, no banding, is just what I need in a screen.

@@propersod2390 If I remember correctly, the z fold 2 has a plastic screen, installing a screen protector can damage the device if you do so.

As for now I am rocking my Mate 20X which remains a BEAST of a phone, but I think it is time to upgrade as it's been 2.5-3 years and it has Burn In Screen in it. So I think I will get the Xiaomi Mi 11 in a few weeks and then wait for this one. Anyways please look forward to a Long Term review of the Mate 20X, and as well as an unboxing of the Xiaomi Mi 11. Well since GoodLock is made by Samsung they didn't really remove the popup view option, they just added a toggle for it in GoodLock. No big deal, any true Samsung user uses GoodLock so :D

Miss, Ms. Griffen Who are you? Your awesome in giving tech info on a gadget. Before this Huawei US /China snafu I bought a Mate 20X because nobody had a candy bar 7.2 inch screen phone. I like a big screen phones. Let me be clear I like the Z fold 2 but not the steep price tag. On the flip side Huawei was suppose to come out with a open fold hinge phone the Mate X2. I want that phone how ever Google service would probably not be on it that and I'm so sad about.

Blame Stock Android for the multitasking and app switching. Samsung did a way better job until they decided to follow stock Android.

I'm just about to pull the trigger on this beautiful foldable, the only thing I'm worried about is that I use my device the most for watching movies, youtube and twitch. That black bars kinda bother me. The other thing is about the durability of the screen cause I think it will eventually brake after some years of folds.
Please help me decide beetween this and Oppo Find X2 pro. (I don't care about the price tag as I want to keep the new device for at least 4 years and enjoy it the most)

hello. I removed the inner screen protector, and I love the feel of it. and the quality of the screen is amazing. I also have the note 20 ultra, and the screens look both amazing. almost same quality. but on fold is brighter! however I am very worried about dust scratches .... could dust particles, scratch the screen? I know its not glass.... however I love it the way it is. hope someone can increase my confidence....
hey you should do a performance test on phones! nobody else does it. I mean a proper one. using a slow motion camera and checking every frame and animations and how many times they skip and what the framerate actually is. my s20 sadly stutters and lags a lot... it's sad that Samsung still is leggy to this day

But no matter what thank you for the information what you shared is a different way of looking at some of the features others cover...i kinda feel like you said showed it better. I'll be looking this video back up for that app, if Samsung ever gets around to shipping my phone I ordered back in mid to late February.
I will have mine very shortly, however, if it's glass under the screen protector once you remove it, couldn't I still use a liquid screen protector without the worry of getting inside? I used it on my phone and tablet, backed up with my Microsoft cloth.
Ok, I don't know anything about the science behind this, but is it possible to make plastic seamlessly transition into glass? So like the inner screen is all glass, except right at the crease where it's plastic but you can't tell? Kinda like \\\||/// if that makes sense
Also a reason why I didn't want the Note 20 Ultra 5G since it's stuck at 1080 for you to get 120hz display.

I had a fold 2 but sold it because of the hole punch and the lack of optimized apps. I hated not being able to use true full screen and having the black or white side bar in landscape mode... which was the best way to hold the phone with the back half only cases.

Hey this could be an obvious question, but is this phone widely available at phone provider stores? Or is there a limited amount of them that are sold out? Sorry just really want to get one, but didnt know the current predicament on there availability.

How is multitasking on Samsung phones not intuitive? Them the recent menu you drag an app out somewhere and use it. To switch apps you go to your recent menu like a normal person. And then from there you can hit the little good button and open up any available app.
It is intuitive you just have to actually use the features of the phone
very detailed review thanks so much I really ahted why samsung really did that kind of implementation about refresh rate in low light scenarios but it means that phones battery life could be so longer when screen on time increases I hope this is fixed until now?

I actually wish Samsung would have made the single plastic display two screens of normal glass and kept the seam as small and thin as possible. I would think it easier to engineer an almost seamless display than a glass screen that bends. Two screens may also be easier for developers to leverage for multitasking.

You forgot to mention to seamlessly multitask through saving your 2 or 3 paired apps on the right edge.
I just don’t find it all that useful. Is only good for pairs you use all the time or you will have a million pairs. It’s easier to just select apps on the fly.
I pulled that sticker off over a month ago and added liquid sceen protection all over even on the camera and zero scratches and i have dropped it boom 💥 😎 its still in great condition.
