With that half fold mode, I feel that samsung should have a camera mode or a setting to off the screen after set amount of time of no screen touch when u take a timelapse/video in the half fold mode
I got the phone at lunch and I still love it and I don't want to hear people crying about the price when everybody subsidizes their phone anyway and don't talk to me about the crease when the iPhone has that big ass notch
I have the 12 pro max , the notch is tiny compared to the crease , and it only is a bother about 5% of the time , and the plus is it gives you a super fast Face ID , so its not really a con in my book and i would rather have the Face ID than not.
@XxgunsxX1 It’s actually supposed to be significantly cheaper. Price is not the concern though. I had switched over to the iPhone and also picked up the Apple Watch shortly before the fold 2 dropped and I could not justify buying it.

After 10 years of iphone usage, this device made me decide to come back to android. Instead of upgrading from iphone 11 to 12, I've chosen the Fold 2. Using this device just put my notebook out fo job. Literally. Moreover, I had a big surprise with the OS... android 11 on the Fold 2 is superior to iOS. ;)
I played with this phone with my own hands at the store. I can tell that this phone is the coolest phone ever. And without a doubt i got the A52 instead😅

It's very telling that the only people complaining about the crease are the people who have NEVER used the phone in real life. It takes 10 seconds playing around with the phone to see that it is completely invisible head on when you don't have a bright light behind you, and if you do have a bright light behind you the glare on any screen is annoying so its no more annoying than a normal phone.
No screen protectors. I removed the screen protectors since the spigen case protects the outer display very well and the included protector for the inner display picks up way too many fingerprints and doesn't feel as nice to touch.

So, I had the LG Viewty like a decade ago...and this reminds me of it. At the time it had the first "proper" touchscreen and was a camera/phone hybrid...it was a bit rough around the edges, didn't excel particularly in some areas, but a few years later we now have a "standardised" smartphone design regardless of who makes it. Just makes me do a bit of a wait analysis if I need this NOW or wait a year until they release the MK. II version or something
I regret buying z fold 2. Too heavy to carry. It is difficult to sell it as not many people would pay more than even $1500. Samsung trade in price is also super low.
I took the factory screen protector off and put on a matte anti-fingerprint protector..much better..I think I actually use it folded more than open bcuz I can use one hand..really don't use the multi-task feature often..but glad I have the option..built-in S pen and better camera and this phone would be perfect (for me)

Great review bro. I sold mine. I didn't care for the cameras, and no apps were developed to take advantage of the device. Everything was just blown up Android apps.
Fair enough. Samsung has optimized their software to take more advantage of the screen but aside from games filling the whole screen on the fold 2, not much else is optimized.
That's why I'm concerned for the Fold 3, there's no changes yet with apps optimizing for this form factor, so even though the phone will be an upgrade, using it will still be on the rough side

It’s neither great as phone when folded nor a great tablet when opened. And that hideous fingerprint inside the screen is horrible.

Massive black bars of unused space on the top and bottom of the inner screen due to poor optimization basically completely ruins the point, you can just get a great phone and a great tablet separately, have them work better, and probably even be cheaper. I'll buy a fold when the outer screen is far bigger, a normal aspect ratio, it's way to thin atm and When the apps are actually optimized for the inner screen. At that point, I would feel it's a perfect phone and worth the 2k

Great review. Super helpful visuals of what it's like using a foldable phone. Seriously considering the Fold 3. Concerned about the camera quality though especially the underdisplay as new to Samsung and only 4mp. Understand from other videos probably won't use this one much other than for video meetings.

It's only been nearly 2 years since I've had the z fold 2 and after replacing the back cover, my phone now tells me that it's too cold to charge and the temperature reading keeps drastically changing every five minutes. I'm so disappointed because this phone was expensive and I can't afford to just buy a new phone but I don't know how long it will last
Until they put the s-pen in the phone it's a no go for me. I wish they would just take two note 20 ultra's install the hinge make the software work make a case that will protect the phone I'd buy that phone right now. samsung stop pussyfooting around and make the phone you know we want. Why make the fold in the first place if you didn't want the tablet part of it. I don't care it's going to be big hell I want big I don't need it to be water proof either just make the damn phone we want. But I see youre not listening the fold three is smaller than the fold two way to go.
I've been using the Tab S7 ever since it came out and have everything needed to put a video together - just haven't gotten around to finishing it yet. There's been some great software updates in the meantime so I'm glad I waited and I always value long term reviews more than anything. I hope to have a video out on it soon!
@@downnout9893 it's the technology in samsung pay that allows it to be used with older card readers allowing to pay by phone. Similar to NFC but more machines (almost all) accept MST but not all are upgraded to NFC. So in more rural areas, mom and pop stores, you can't use your phone to pay because their card readers haven't been upgraded to NFC but you can use a Samsung phone with MST to pay. I don't know why samsung decided that the note 20 and fold 2 are the last phones to carry MST. For example S21 does not have it and I'm sure Fold 3 won't either.
I love this phone! Definitely the coolest phone I've ever owned and enjoy flipping it open any chance I get. I got the Spigen Tough Armor case for mine which is pretty similar to yours. I like your case for the simple fact that you can clean the debris off of the hinge easily by just flipping up the hinge protector. With mine, I have to completely remove the front piece of the case to clean the hinge of debris (mostly pocket lint). Great review! 👍
