    Thank you for this excellent video, Pete. I have watched a lot of scope usage and purchased a Micsig Automotive Scope a couple weeks ago. I've only played around with it a little but have time now to connect, adjust, and begin to truly understand the functionality.

    Just purchased my first scope. It's the snap on zeus scanner with the four channel lab scope. Thanks for providing these videos for us.

    This is a really quick intro into what a scope can do, but believe me, once you really start using one, you might get to be like Bernie Thompson from ATS (Pete was showing the ATS scope that Bernie helped to build).
    The pocket scope Pete was showing will give you a great start. Once you use a 4 or 8 channel scope, you'll really like what it can do.

    Do you need an automotive scope or can you use a conventional bench top oscilloscope? How do they differ? I would imagine that a specialized automotive scope is easier to work with, but I already have a electronics scope how can I use it to best advantage.

      Sure, I don't see any reason why not. It just may not have all the bells and whistles that one dedicated to automotive testing may have. Watch those input voltages!

    Hello , I have Honda Accord 2008 I went to the dealer and they told me update the PCM , the code is P0339
    Crankshaft Position Sensor "A"
    Circuit Intermittent , sometimes when you starter the vehicle check engine going on with VSA, nothing different after update , already replaced the crank shaft , the problem is still , I try to take off the cable from cam shaft sensor and I drive the car. It's nothing gonna be happen no a check engine going on , the pcm has been delay to see I take of the jack from the sensor so what do you think the problem? Thank you.😂

    • @MotorAgeMagazine
      @MotorAgeMagazine  Рік тому +1

      Sorry for the delay in replying to you. This code could indicate a problem in the wiring, a loose connection or bad pin fit at the sensor or the ECM. I would use a scope to monitor the signal as I twist the wiring around.

    CAN YOU GIVE AN IDEA OF WHICH SCANNER TO START WITH XTOOL ,ALTELL ,SNAPON

      That's a loaded question. It's a matter of how much tool do you need, your budget, and what your personal preferences may be.
      Do you need a tool that covers multiple makes? Are you working on just drivability issues or do you also get involved with body systems?

    You need to zoom in on the screen for viewers to understand what’s happening. No point point having the camera on you or the screen 10 feet away.
