Please please please do a full high detail build, I don't see many people posting in depth videos on high detail builds, unless I'm looking in the wrong places lol.
Just started building my kit. Only used a few bits from this so far but the fit is superb and really does make a difference. So glad that I got this after watching this video.
Those Airscale seatbelts are spectacular but your work on thinning down and draping the kit belts is no slouch either. It’s just that the kit belts don’t lend themselves to realistically resting on the seat as much as the paper ones do.
I pre-ordered the cockpit set and got it for £18.95, so, sometimes it pays off to pre-order! I did have a problem, my set never turned up, however, after an email to Peter, I had a replacement within 24hours, excellent service, I can't praise him enough.
Great video again! Just started this a week ago, following your spit-video's closely, learned a lot from it and it already saved me from some mistakes. Awesome kit. Building it out of the box.
Came across your videos - such a talented man. Love the Spitfire series. Amongst those talents is your ability to make metal painted stuff look like metal. There's so many modellers out there, talented too, but all the metal painted stuff looks like, well... painted. Love you to do a series on the techniques you employ.
@@NigelsModellingBench Just place an order for the cockpit kit, but out of stock atm on the seat belts, I am in no rush to start the kit, like you I tend to collect all the after markets bits when they become available.
hi nige got these for my 2nd 1/24 spitfire aswell as the full mask you reviewed and the brass under carrige legs will start this latter this year im still building my first one out of the box as you by then you should have the build complete for the 1/24 spitfire .i want to do a realy perfict job of the 2nd one with all the after markit you review thanks again
Loving your videos, you've got some good tips and general building knowledge. I haven't built any 1/24 scale kits yet but I would love to win the airscale upgrade. It would get me to build something big. Keep up the good work.
My pre-order of the panel arrived today also so I can crack open the 2nd kit I got with a plan to do one out the box which I have started and have a go at a super detail one
Thanks for the review, I have today just ordered the cockpit set. First time I've even thought of getting aftermarket parts. First time for everything I suppose. Not getting the seat belts though, because your idea of thinning down the plastic has worked a treat.
Hi Nigel. Yep just received both of these sets and they are brilliant. Very easy to build up and install, and they also look great. Like you say just take your time when putting them together and the kingdom of heaven shall be yours,
Hi Nigel, neat review. By coincidence the postman had delivered mine earlier in the day so I was fondling the parts whilst watching your video. I look forward to seeing your all singing, all dancing second Spit.
Hi Nigel, I am currently building the Airfix 1/24 Spit and have a set of the Airscale Sutton Harness, I would really like to see a video of you making these up as I am a bit unsure how to do them. Would really like one of these upgrade kits as well but have nearly finished the cockpit on mine, guess I will have to get another Spit so I can get the upgrades.
Very nice. Might I ask if you've had a chance to see/review the Kitsworld 3D Spit IXc instrument panel decal. I've used similar Qunta Studio products in the past and wondered how Kitsworld 3D decals compare.
Could someone please help me with how you apply the clear plastic card to cover the instrument panel, do you cut out small circles and place it on top? It’s not clear in the instructions I don’t think?
Hi Dave. Artscale currently has my clear parts to make a mask set for them. 1 Man Army are making a set for the stencils and DN Models are making a set for the kit liveries to avoid using decals.
The control panel details at 22.48 look amazing!

Hi Nigel, Nice accessories for the Spitfire. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Jeff
Mine turned up today too. So I might have to get on with mine 👍 excellent walk through Nigel 👍 cheers 👍

Outstanding goodies form Airscale. I have bought their instrument sets in the past and obviously need these! Cheers from Canada!

Much appreciated! I cover this in various different videos.

What a fantastic giveaway, thank you NMB and Airscale.
Great stuff, ordered one

That’s a lovely upgrade
Nice to see that there is some aftermarket coming for this Spitfire! Wait to see, what's next)
You and me both!

That looks very, very smart.

Definitely after this but I’m going to have to wait a bit. A vast improvement over the kit parts.

Glad you like them!
Wounder if he will be doing a set for the Kotare Spitfire. Have the airfix kit, may as well get the upgrades for both kits at the same time.
Yes he will.
Got mine today as well

Makes me want to build a Spit!
DO IT!!
Great review, order placed. What more can one say 👍
Thanks Andy👍
Brill review Nige, I will get those ordered asap, guess if I was lucky enough to win your spare, then another kit would have to go in the stash.😄👍
Fingers crossed!
Another excellent set from Airscale. If only he did dashboards and belts for 1/24 scale cars.😀
Maybe one day!

Go for it! I will make a video when I make my next model I guess?
Great video, as ever! Quick question about the clamps you used for holding the cockpit tub together. Where can we get those from?
Rebell Hobby in Sweden.

Sorry, I dont know. I would prefer to use the Airscale set
👍
Hi Nige
Quick question, what would you thin the Ammo glue with…?
Water mate.
Could someone please help me with how you apply the clear plastic card to cover the instrument panel, do you cut out small circles and place it on top? It’s not clear in the instructions I don’t think?
You sandwich the acetate between the decal and front panel.
Thanks for the advice 🎉
Have you a link to all the parts you've used?
Thanks in advance
I havent used any?
Hi Nigel. Is there any company producing masks for this kit ?
Cheers.

@@NigelsModellingBench Thanks for the info . Love the seatbelts, a great upgrade to the kit ones . Getting on to air scale now 👍
Internal masks included too.
Yes, maybe a choice of both?
