P.S. Not sure if I am correct (I am not a real pilot) but somewhere I read that before take off it is recommended dropping the flaps down and up to see (checking ammeter) if the battery is properly charging (i.e. if alternator compensates the consumption of electricity by flaps). If needle drops and immediately goes up a little above the centerline, then it is OK. If needle drops a little and stays there, the battery is not charging.

Ah interesting. I've heard about some checks with the landing lights, but flaps would also work of course
