I have no clue what we're going to be painting in this thrift store makeover as Cassie is finding the item and choosing our colour palette to decorate and upcycle. Today I am painting my very first 3D object and this item has been chosen by Cassie on her thrifting trip! We've been given a colour palette so let's try and create something 😮 Make sure you check out Cassie's video (in the description) to see her upcycle the cute wooden ornament we picked out!! ❤

How did I miss your channel until this collab? I adore your art style and knew I'd have to splurge on stickers as soon as I saw Cassie open your parcel.
I love the way you managed to keep the bronze embellishments in with your makeover. It's beautifully done.
Painting 3d is a different experience, definitely fiddlier but I get a huge feeling of accomplishment when it's done

Ah, yes, the struggle of "how do I hold this???" Lol. I got into painting 3D objects through arts & crafts youtubers like Moriah Elizabeth, and haven't done much with painting on flat surfaces.
Anyway, cool little box and fun project =) I feel like a set of nifty little dice would be the perfect residents to live inside it =)
By the end I actually had the genius idea of using a peg to hold the handle! Only wish I’d have thought of it at the beginning 🤦🏼♀️ it really is a struggle but I can see why you like it, it’s a different way of creating art and so fun 🥰

You could use matte medium over it or varnish. I would do either myself. It is definitely challenging to paint and also film 3D objects. She picked such a cute box for you. I want it 😂 you did a great job with it 🙂
Ah okay I think I’ll go for the matte medium since my varnish is gloss, though unfortunately even ‘matte’ does have a sheen. It really was challenging!! Such a fun idea though, I’d do it again 🥰

Beautiful. For the finish I use normally mat varnish. If I want it mat... never used modge podge as a finish... Your color mixing is stunishing. I mix color by feeling too... I have my colorwheel with me just in case I want to mood down a bright color.
And yes watercolor are my medium too. Less mess and nit much needed... 😂... am I lazy... yeap... ❤ greetings from belgium... ❤
