This is actually one of the few times not finishing off the murderer turned out to be a good idea. It let Hank get the kill and prevented any questions about who actually killed Tuco.
There would still be questions though, like how the gutshot Tuco got ended up there.
@@SirBigWater I was thinking about that actually. I'm no expert on police procedure on this kinda thing and it's been awhile since watching BB but, I don't know that the authorities would waste the time/money to put forensics on this.
From the cop's perspective, Hank shot with a pistol, it's possible he hit Tuco in the gut in the shootout. There are ways to tell it's not from the same gun but, I'm pretty sure Jessie and Walt took Tuco's pistol with them so working out the ballistic fingerprint of the gun is a nogo. There would be burns from a point-blank shot but, without a suspect there's not really anywhere to go. Hector was the only witness and he refused to play ball; past that there wasn't really much to go on besides some prints or DNA but, you'd need evidence to get warrants to gather that kind of info.
It kinda seems like Hank's superiors just wanted to call this a win, make Hank a hero, and focus back on the Cartel rather than pursue the details. I mean, who cares if a junkie/low-level dealer wounded Tuco or something went down between them? The idea is to go after Cartel higherups, not bust some dealer/junkie on an attempted murder charge.
@@tsarfox3462 Alot of times they'll check it out, like how many shots Hank took vs how many bullets in Tuco. Guess it depends. Like you said
@@SirBigWater I mean, Hank unloaded an entire magazine from a Glock. That's around 17 bullets. Then he reloaded and readied himself to take the shot that counted. So that's about 18 shots, could be one hit before he put Tuco down. I just think it speaks to the writing that it's plausible the authorities looked into it a bit before just thinking they have bigger fish to fry.

I love how much effort tuco’s actor put in when he got shot, when you get shot you don’t just groan, you scream in pain. Tuco’ actor perfectly captured this and he deserves more

@@trippa3553 Actually a lot of times people get shot and don't feel it immediately. You're so pumped with adrenaline that your nerves literally won't be able to relay the pain to your brain until the shock wears off.

Actually, famously you might not feel any pain when shot due to adrenaline.
As everyone else said, you don’t feel it right away. I think Tuco was high when this scene happens and drugs can mess with your adrenaline receptors so he most certainly felt that shot to the stomach.

I didn't find Tuco's character very beleivable until he punched his own guy to death. Dude has just this aura of intimidation. You have no clue what he will do, how he will react. Great acting.
Raymond Cruz completely stole the show whenever he was on in my opinion. He just nailed the character. You can really feel the fear he instills in other characters such as Walt, Jesse, No-Doze (the guy he beat to death).
He really captured that animalistic, predator like behavior when he was slowly crouching towards Jesse while rocking his rifle on the ground.
But he said he didn't think he was going to die, so it's voluntary manslaughter, no?
He was probably the scariest meth addict I've seen in media.
It's the same with all the Salamanca's. Hector, and Lalo both were intimidating because you never knew what the hell they were thinking or what they would do next.

Leaving him to bleed out was an insanely risky choice by them considering that you can survive most gut shots and cartel doctors specialize in bullet wounds. If Hank hadn't rolled along later and finished him off, Tuco probably survives and tracks down Walt

It may take too long for him to be rescued, you can bleed out fast with a massive hole in your abdomen with nothing to slow it
your not moving at all after a day with no water though so if he cant get out that hole in a day he woulda died anyway

I always laugh at Tuco getting shot by Jesse. Like, 'Oh my god. This hurts! No one told me getting shot hurts!'.
As a person who wasn't shot, I can safely say that tuco's reaction is justifiable, I mean getting shot is probably is the most painful thing to feel in your whole lifetime

I've heard it said of (the actor) Raymond Cruz that he is a gentle, likable man. If that is the case, he played this role *very well.*
Supposedly the actor asked to be written out of the show because playing Tuco was too heavy for him. And looking at the character... yeah, I can see where he's coming from. The actor taping out is the main reason why Tuco died so early in Season 2; originally he was meant to hang around for longer.

Aaron was feeling a lot of pain and actually told Ray to stop and cut the scene. But Raymond thought he was just acting.

I started to pitch a tent.
I would have loved to see where Vince would have taken Tuco in the series if Raymond Cruz didn't ask to be taken out of the show. I've read Cruz was so wrapped in the character he couldn't talk to his family when he went home. He felt he had to leave the series. He's really an introvert in real life, so seeing him able to portray this character speaks volumes to his acting ability.
Well, it was for the best, otherwise we wouldn’t have gotten Gus, who is a much more complex and compelling villain than Tuco could ever be. Tuco was one dimensional.
I think he was in the series just enough, this ending for him was fantastic. When hank comes in and the car hydraulics are making that noise and it ends with hectors bell all distorted its super intense its almost like horror. Then later in the series when he was PTSD in the elevator and the noises come back. So good.
Giligan’s writing staff is so brilliant- didn’t even notice they were tryina exit him out
God you can see the pain in Jesse's eyes throughout the whole video, even when the "fight" turns to their side and the gun is in his hands he is still completely mentally broken.

it already showed how they would end up characterwise, after Tuco is shot Jesse doesn't look too happy to let him suffer and Walt just says "let him bleed"
(and yes, he did shoot him to survice and added a kick, but that was just the first reaction, when he felt safe he didn't look happy about Tuco's suffering)

Fun fact: Vince switched the prop gun in Raymond Cruz's pocket with a real loaded gun without telling anyone, so when Jesse grabbed Tuco's sidearm and shot him in the stomach, their reactions were genuine. Aaron Paul actually shot Raymond Cruz in the torso. Vravo, Bince!

Jesse's suffering through out the show is inspiration to life.
Watching this for the first time felt insane and like such a good emotional payoff.

Breaking bad is such a genius show. Every time I rewatch scenes from it I'll always notice some new symbolism. For instance, when Jessie shoots Tuco, it means he was mad at Tuco.
When Tuco shouted "SHUT UP", he was demanding that Jesse stop crying and be quiet

One of the biggest overlooked moments in breaking bad. Where Hank had Walts finger prints on that rifle. When he later heard Jesse's story, he would have realized walts finger prints may have already been in the system.
I doubt they would have dusted for prints for Tuco's gun

I never said that. I said they would know for a fact that someone previously shot him before Hank showed up. So they would've investigated the rifle that was there. (Walter and Jesse buried the 1911 in the desert so they couldn't get it.)
Another thing that might explain why Hank didn't use it as evidence is the quality of the finger prints. The dry desert heat would have a huge impact on if the fingerprints would still be identifiable.

Every character is this amazing show was so well cast, so brilliantly acted.
Always loved while wrestling on the ground, from his knees Tuco picks up and slams jesse down like he's nothing. Awesome.
Breaking Bad was such a good show. 100% my favourite of all time and I keeping watching these clips because almost every scene/scenario is just so good.

Walt’s admission of the attempted poisoning is underrated. Very satisfying to hear someone find their balls against this maniac.

This was one of the most stressful yet satisfying arcs in the show. BB really took you all over the place in terms of plot.

I absolutely love that Jesse got the shot on Tuco instead of walter. You see him grab the big gun Tuco was threatening them with and you think "somethings gonna happen to Jesse before Walt gets a clean shot on him" but then Jesse grabs the gun.
Surprisingly says a lot about the rest of the story.
Tuco did such a great job. Stole a lot of scenes. I would put him in any movie I would ever make.
I was shocked he died so early. Felt like wasted potential.

Tuco is like that one boss you have to fight with while playing one character, and when the second phase happens you have to play another character because the original character is unavailable for some reason.

When I first watched this, I remember hoping Walt would go back inside and wheel Hector out there. Make tuco watch as they execute Hector in front of him. Dropping his body in the hole, then executing him

@@ennieminymoo6675 Walt went on to be as bad if not worse than tuco. He poisoned a kid, had all those guys killed in like 2 minutes, he even stangled someone with a bike lock. Oh and he did execute someone. He ran over those guys and got out and shot one at point blank. Damn almost forgot he killed Mike. But I know it didn't fit the shows narrative at the time. Just saying I hated tuco and wanted him to die in the worse way possible
@@Realtrollking2988 Yeah, he strangled someone with a bike lock because that someone wanted to kill him for the second time at that point, despite Walt intending to let him go. Mentioning that as to why Walt is bad is pretty dishonest. As well as the two guys he killed that were about to shoot Jesse, and who had murdered a kid previously.

That transition of them being in complete fear to Walt calling Tuco “a degenerate piece of filth” with Jesse immediately hitting him with a rock is smoother than butter on toast.
This show does an incredible job of characters turning the tables in controling the situation.

I first saw the actor who plays Tuco in Training day. His performance was indicative of the power he had to play Tuco Salamanca in a bigger role.

I might be wrong here, but I just realized. That when Jessie kills someone, it's always fast and quick like a gun. Walt on the other hand will usually be more cruel and explosive. Such as poisoning the two people at the start and even the Ricin. Maybe I'm just looking into it too much, but I wonder if that was on purpose, to show how Jessie is more like a Naive kid while Walt is a brutal maniac.
When you kill people with chemistry it tends to be cruel and explosive
no walter just has the skills to kill people with explosives and poisons because of his knowledge of chemistry. it is more fitting than him just shooting someone with a gun.
Walt did hit two guys with his minivan, so that time he used physics. He also killed Mike with a gun in a fit of pique.

I started watching breaking bad recently, but only watched breaking bad recently, and only just finished season 1, and now google pulled a genius move and recommended me this video, and the title is so obviously telling that i don’t even need to see a single frame of whats shown in it to be spoiled about the exact path the plot will take from now on.
