For those of you who are concerned/complaining about the speed... Please take some accountability, go to the Settings in the top right hand corner. Those three dots in the top right-hand corner when you pause the video, touch those with your Mouse if you're at a desktop or laptop or if you're on your mobile device touch it with your finger or stylus. You will see approximately 3 lines down something that says playback speed. Most likely next to playback speed it will say normal. If you touch one of the three options above normal you'll be able to slow down your video to a speed that helps you not feel motion sickness. This creative crafter put a lot of time and effort into her video. Whilst having in the back of her head that she still had to pick up her kiddos within a reasonable amount of time. We should all be kinder and more grateful. Constructive criticism is necessary for growth and so is personal accountability. Change the settings and enjoy the video at a rate that is comfortable for you. :-)

Good Heavens, IKEA SHOULD be paying you for this! What a wonderful showcase of their store from a Crafters viewpoint. We just had a brand new and much anticipated IKEA open here in my part of Virginia and NOW I actually WANT to go there.. LOL! Thank you for a wonderful guide.

I agree with everything you said with one exception.
If there is a crafter who ever complained that all Ikea craft rooms look the same, then he or she isn’t a crafter. For Pete’s sake, it’s a blank canvas, do something with it!
Sponge paint, decoupage beautiful napkins or use all your scraps, alcohol ink the melamine, use your stencils, graffiti spray paint, ROYGBIV 360 around the room, go sedate or go crazy but there’s no limits and I mean none.
Hardware stores have beautiful molding strips with flourishes, flowers, carved bead trim... apply these to the fronts of shelves and styles. Stain them, antique them, make them match your home’s motif. Add cornices to the top corners of shelve units with beefier top crown molding.
Endless opportunities, so endless you could keep customizing so long you’d never make another card or layout, lol.

If you have a cutting machine such as a Silhouette, they used to do 15 or 16 inch square table mats. Make them sticky with some repositionable glue, they make great machine cutting mats - and were only 99c in Spain, probably around a dollar in the USA.

Thanks for some more ideas. I just got an IKEA that opened near me in April. The 1st thing I bought was the Alex. Never had an IKEA near me so it was a lot to take in. But,, I got over it. Lol I do have another suggestion. The small shelves/hutch 4 shelf that is in the kids desk area, it has a green back. It fits perfectly on the big Alex with wheels. The green back part I put it backwards so the white side shows. It hold ink pads and markers with all of their accessories. And the white trash baskets are a must-have. My trimmers are in 1, paper in another. Non vinal rolls in 1 hanging on a cabinet. The vinal rolls is in the plastic bag keeper. Also in the office area, there are large plastic mats . They are awesome. I've used them under messy projects. Paint and glue wipes off like magic. I saw a display in a kitchen display with kid crafts. They are thin. Easy to store.

@@ScrappyWife it seems like, a lot of people are ungrateful. They don't realize how many hours you invested into this video. If they haven't been to and Ikea, they don't realize that just going there is an all-day process LOL even if it's only 10 minutes from your home. Not to mention the hours of conceptualizing your video, filming it and editing. I thought it was fine and at an appropriate speed. We also have the option to slow down our speed of watching in the settings. Most people that are used to UA-cam understand that. Unfortunately what you are experiencing in the comment section is pack mentality. One person commented and it just caught on like wildfire and the truth is it's not even that's serious. I've been so frustrated reading these comments and I just wanted you to know I am grateful and appreciative that you did this video. It gave me a ton of great ideas! Rest assured that there are many viewers here that feel the same way I do. Many blessings to you :-)

Down2This yes but the criticism can be said in a constructive helpful way or a rude entitled way. Unfortunately the vast majority of people commenting on the camera work have chosen the rude "it's all about me way". Unfortunately when one person posts a rude comment it sometimes gives others reading that it is ok for them to be rude too. I think that is the "pack mentality " referred to here. There have been a few comments that have been positive and give really good advice on how to fix some of the camera work issues. I have enjoyed reading those.

Thoroughly enjoyed this video, it has been a long time since I visited IKEA. All of the storage in my craft and sewing room is from IKEA but I bought it second hand which saved me a fortune. Your tour showed me some things I could use especially the peg boards so I think it is time I visited the store again. Which doesn't make any sense, especially when they each have the option to slow the video down in the settings. I don't think they realize how much work it takes to film and edit.. ONCE YOU GET IN THERE THEY TRAP You and you can't get out until you are about to have a panic attack. There is nothing in there that is worth the maze design created in the store to keep you walking in circles for hours. It's the worst. You are not missing a thing. You can buy this stuff online for same price, free shipping or just cheaper. I am a real crafter. I like to spend my time crafting. I dont care what my craft room looks like, it's me. I am not going to go shopping on purpose to find out what anybody has to improve my craft room.. I prefer to spend my time crafting. From the comments, it looks like I'm in the minority of enjoying how quickly you went through the store. Maybe you should edit your 'about' section to suggest that people click on the settings icon to slow down the playback speed. I know I'll be doing that on a rewatch to take a closer look at some of the products that looked really interesting to me. In Jan, 2014, we drove an hour to our nearest IKEA, in a snowstorm, to furnish my tiny sewing room. It was so easy to customize a table/legs/drawers, along with 3 expedit units to fit a very small space. I’ve since moved into a larger room, with closet space, but the IKEA still serves me well....minus a couple of expedit cubby units that my daughter needed when she got married. 😂😂 Hoping IKEA builds closer to me soon 👍

First time finding your videos. Love your craft room looks like it set up pretty good & looks organized. Loved the tour my daughter the super crafty lady just went through IKEA last week & became a member & said she loves it but her husband cringed to think she would spend more money. LOL But she makes good money with her crafts she just needs a much bigger room right now she has the smallest bedroom full & another bedroom not all the way full yet. But these pieces of furniture would really help her organize. I think I have also found a wonderful store to go to for organization items. Once I get back into a house instead of my small apt I will be setting up a great craft room. Thank you Thank you so much

I have been collecting Ikea furniture since they opened here in 1986. We must have at least 40 Billy book cases in the house (lots of books, AND craft supplies). On the Billies in the craft room I use the BINZ clear kitchen bins that can stack - they come in all kinds of sizes. The CD shelf unit you talked about - I have one to store all my Sizzix Bigz dies. The regular standard size fits perfectly. My crafting desk is a pine kitchen table we picked up for a great price in 1989. Yes, I can attest to both the storage possibilities (and the crafting materials!) that Ikea has to offer.

I've never been to an Ikea or even bought anything from there. I found I had to go into settings and slow the video down so much and then I couldn't understand what you were saying, but no big deal, I just put CC on. I could put it on 25, and that was nearly too fast. Ugh. I am actual nauseous.... gotta go lie down for at least an hour. Loved the information on the video. Please know, I only brought this up in case you make any more "speedy" videos, and that I really do appreciate this video. I saw much more this way than if I were at the store in person. Thank you very much.

Awesome tour, Elisa! Our closest Ikea was over 2 hours away, but I just found out there is a slightly closer one. Still a long ways (over 100 miles), but I am excited! My mom & I are planning our own "field trip" there, hopefully soon. I'm reorganizing the space along one wall of my craft room, and need different storage than what I have. I've decided on a combination of purchased pieces (ready to assemble) and scratch-built shelving (that I can make myself), so I get exactly what I want/need. Still in the planning stages, but hopefully I'll be ready to shop 'til I drop soon! LOL Thank you for sharing this. Have a wonderful day! :)

I don't think advising a videographer to slow down should be taken offensively
If you've never experienced it, you can't understand. Alsi, if you slow the bideo down, the soundtrack slows down.
When people post videos, they need yo not take things personally, but as a way to improve the video experience for viewers. Especially since the info was submitted by multiple people.
Take it as helpful information, not as a shot against them.

    • @pamthetraveler7224

I provided my feedback to help. I adore feedback, especially negative ones because it tells me the person is actually paying attention enough to have an issue but kind enough to tell me so I can improve. I did slow it down but then the verbal info is compromised. I think she was sweet enough to reply "noted" so its a win win. We are artists trying to help other artists. Nothing sinister about it.

Thank you for the field trip. I love IKEA. I too am a crafter and my favorite find is the Kuggis boxes. I do beading and you can store beads or whatever you are using in the main box, and the lid, which is recessed about 1/4 "into the box, makes a great place to bead from. It is like having a beading board with every box. Also collecting all the unused beads is a snap. These come in various sizes and they stack really well together. Makes it easy to work on projects wherever you want to.

Thanks for showing options available and ideas! There are many videos that show the finished room but not options. As I began to look at products, I found it difficult to mix products due to sizes. For example, I have a lot of 3-ring binders. But the height and depth of some cube systems you can purchase at big box stores are not tall enough or deep enough. I do find IKEA does carry the appropriate sizes, and drawer sets with dimensions that mix and match. There is an IKEA near me, but I have only looked on-line. Thanks to your video, it is apparent there are good reasons to check out IKEA's store displays in person!

Thanks for the tour! I live in Sweden and it was fun for me to be guided. I have been shopping in IKEA since the end of the 1970-es. I also love many of their products and I like their modern colorful design. I wasn't too happy though last week when I bought a writing desk. In the manual there were 29 pictures explaining how to put it together, pretty complicated. It was tough, but I made it after some struggling. Happy Holidays :D

I too have some Ikea storage units in my crafts room. Ikea furniture is easy to assemble, looks good and is inexpensive. I have a pair of Ikea wingback chairs bought in the 1990s that still look great despite three household moves and lots of use. However, be aware that boxes of unassembled Ikea furniture tend to be VERY heavy and difficult to maneuver up stairwells and through narrow doorways. If you do not have a couple of strong male relatives to do the heavy lifting for you, you can arrange for Ikea to deliver your boxes of furniture pieces and assemble them in your home for an extra fee. Other wise, Ikea will provide someone at their loading dock to load your boxes into your vehicle, but it will be up to you to unload once you get home. When I have had to unload Ikea boxes from my vehicle by myself, I just opened a box and carried one piece at a time inside. If you sign-up for the Ikea card, you will ne eligible for a free Swedish meatball meal at their café on your birthday.
