Husky fan here. One major positive we took from this game was we saw the future at QB was in great shape with Tui. He was the ultimate leader and competitor. Without him our 11-1 Rose Bowl champ 2000 team would have struggled to merely make a bowl game. He put the team on his back and willed them to victory almost every week.
I was at this game. My brother and I won two free meals at Burgerville in Woodland, Washington from it. We were driving up to Seattle from Portland and started talking with Burgerville’s manager, who was a big Husky fan. We bet him $10 or two combo meals if we won. I came in on our way back holding up that Sunday’s Seattle Post Intelligencer’s sports page that read, “Run Over,” with a big red “N.” I still remember the guy’s name. Thanks, Lonnie!
I was in Cozumel, Mexico on a dive trip when the game was on. I knew my Huskers were gonna get beat. I laid a bet on Washington (sacrilege!) to pay for dinner that night. When we came back on the boat after diving I learned I lost the bet. I was a happy camper.
Coach Frost playing days .Unbeaten in 1997 as a Sr in College as the starting QB and Unbeaten again as the Head Coach in 2017 but 20 years later at Central Florida. Definitely a proven Champion n class act. Now has returned back to Nebraska with his whole staff from UCF. 2018 season should be fun and interesting
@@FreedomFiveFLagree ADrain Martineaz lost was to many games. May have won 2nd league Super Bowl recently but that year Michigan went to the playoff and lost. We had them on the ropes he fumbled and gives them the ball with good position. To score and in. Vs Purdue 2021 proved he needs to go 4 ints that day
This 1997 Washington team was a huge disappointment - preseason Top 5, hyped as a national title contender all offseason, and ended up going just 7-4 and lost 3 home games for the first time in forever in addition to getting massacred on the road at UCLA. Probably the beginning of the end for Lambright who lasted only one more season.
That teams problem was lack of depth due to the scholarship reduced recruiting classes in 1994 and 1995. The starting 22 was a top 5 team, but if anybody got hurt they were screwed. Key injuries down the stretch of the season cost them greatly. Then they showed everybody how great they were when everybody was healthy in the Aloha Bowl. If that team stayed healthy they would have gone to the Rose Bowl.

Well, Tui certainly turned in an impressive performance in this game.

Miss the Chili's starting lineup days, Keith Jackson, ahhhh, nothing better on a Saturday in the 90's
Nebraska's D line could change a game back then
After a great opening drive by Washington, the kicker blows it. This game was won at the line of scrimmage. Nebraska flexed it’s muscle.
It was a incredibly beautiful day to be at for a top match up in College Football.
Brock couldn't take the heat of the Blackshirt kitchen
few things better than watching carlos polk play

This was Nebraska's last road win against a top ten team
wow
Huskers win game
From keeley pollard
Not true. They beat TN for the Natty
@@ApoIIo95 That was a neutral field game.
@@gynandroidhead Still not a home game.
I blame the purple helmets
Right?! They look like a bunch of grapes out there.....
Lambright sucks
It would have been fine, if it was a one off for a special occasion. But yeah the Gold Helmets where and are far superior looking.

Oh what could have been, if AM would have stuck with his commitment to Tennessee and Frost started off with a different QB.
Narrator: "It was not, in fact fun, nor particularly interesting."
