@@MattLeeMorgan I agree!! I was about to trade this for a canon r3 for better autofocus, but between the colors and the leica sl lenses I can’t bring myself to let go of it. My fingers and toes are crossed for phase detect autofocus on the next camera. Leica has been listening so I’m hoping for the best.
@@ForeverBrooklynNYC autofocus is way slower than sony/canon but very reliable. If you shoot one to two persons face detetct works very well. For the rest i use backbutton focus single point and works well for me (weddings) You have to work a little more for it but thats what i like 😊
Hi Matt, how do you find the autofocus with the LUMIX lenses paired with the SL2s (speed & accuracy)? I have the sl2s but pair it with my M voigtlander lenses but wanted to get the 35mm 1.8
@@MattLeeMorgan When switching to manual focus via the lens clutch focus peaking doesn’t work. None of the alliance lenses that have this feature render focus peaking obsolete.
@@vproven I just use a different display setting when I do manual focus. The SL I set it up for autofocus, manual focus and a video setting with the FN button.
James, I have Panasonic 35, 50, 85, (all 1.8 ), 16-35 and 24-105. Works great with a all of them except 24-105 which struggles a little indoors in continuous autofocus.
Interesting. Im currently trying to sell my Leica Q to fund a Canon r5 as Im getting actual paid work but hate to leave Leica knowing ill probably hate the utility of Canon😂
@@Burritosarebetterthantacos ive had the Q like 4 times and the SL2s 3 times I still love Leica build and the screen and viewfinder, but man its bigger than my GFX and files are bigger as well. Fuji has shit build though but fun to use.
you said you own an r5 and a Leica. do you know if there's a strobe + trigger that will work for both? thanks. how do you compare the rendition of canon & Leica
godox makes one for leica now, but the Canon flash and triggers work fine in manual. Only prob with leica is most of your shots won't be in focus its not great for studio work.
"Great Passion Camera" - Perfect description for the SL2-S. I absolutely love mine.
It’s amazing

@@gentleman0678 its such a beauty, I just always have to grab the canon for important jobs
I so understand this struggle. I wish you well in 2022!
Could be worse lol
Just switched from 2 r5s to 2 sl2s and been loving it so much. Not perfect, but i just want to use it. Happy shooting with it 😀
The limitations are what it make it fun 🤩 changes the way I think when I shoot.
Do you do any portrait work with the SL2-s? How do you feel the auto-focus compares to the R5?

@davidwagelmans @mattleemorgan, any updates on the SL2-S after a year?
i love mine too, using it alongside my GFX 50
I’m looking for a great deal on the sl2s as well. Where did you purchase yours? Thanks 🙏

Works perfect so far, I’ve tried the 50mm, 85mm and 70-200 2.8.

Canon is from making money Leica is for fun unfortunately, I’m on canon/Fuji train now
