"I did my best" ... this scene brings me to tears every single time I re-watch it or see a reactor/reviewer react to it. I think as a series, "The Haunting of Hill House" -Season 1 is still better as a whole, but this scene is on another level.
This is my favorite show by Mike Flanagan mainly because it was a vampire show and I love vampires and yes I know they were never at any point in the show called vampires and I've seen people doubt these are vampires but these creatures feed on blood, you get bit by these creatures/ drink their blood you become one of these things and they burned up in the sunlight these are vampires.
I like to think they’re vampires maybe they could be angels? What’s your take on the ending? Do you think the angel died while it was flying away or did it just simply get to far from the Islam so the girl became paralyzed again
@TheWillman34 I think the angel/ vampire whatever it was died in the sun because the girl said I can't feel my legs which I'm assuming implies that the creatures healing blood is out of her system when the creature didn't make it to any safety and got killed in the sunlight.
@ a part of me thinks that’s true too, I was watching a video a few years ago and they were suggesting maybe it just got to far from the girl and the wasn’t in the range for the blood to have healing factors
@TheWillman34 yeah I think that's a possibility too but I personally don't wanna believe that creature managed to get away and possibly do it's evil ways somewhere else after what it did to everyone on the island and that the only two survivors from the island were the two kids , if that thing managed to get away then that's a very bittersweet ending only being bittersweet because the two kids at least survived.
So, am I the only one who couldn't stop thinking that Riley kinda looks like Ryan (2019/20 Ryan, not current Ryan) while watching this show for the first time back in the days?
Just watched it before you out it this review, I’ve gotta say that some parts definitely had me either on the edge of the chair or in awe, and other parts were like “umm wtf, why did they decide to do this”
Midnight Mass is my fav of his stuff, but it's all good. Watched the series a few times now. It's brilliant. I'm always looking forward to what he does, he's the Stephen King of the cinema world.
Awesome video, Ryan, and keep up the great work. I was trying to comment on your last stream about a new Netflix mini series American Primeval, but every time I mentioned it, the comments would get deleted almost immediately. American Primeval is only 6 episodes, so it's not a big-time commitment, but it is amazing, and I believe it will be right up your alley.
The comment algorithm has gotten so bad here now, it’s just deleting everything, I used to be able to get around it but not anymore, now I haven’t got a clue why some comments are getting deleted.
An excellent, slow burning series with religious belief as the basis, plenty of profound dialogue, excellent acting and and a finale that's powerful and emotional ! Just watched it for the second time , and now finally feel I understand everything!
Definitely a good series it had a very different take on vampires also love the slow burn the show offered like small little exposure of the vampire in some episodes not revealing it until the plot needed it also love the way of religious take of the show where you give people a “Angel” it slowly turns to a cult based.
I like in the last episode she refused to drink his blood because of his ethnicity, and the last time we see her she’s on the beach literally trying to bury her head in the sand
Mild Spoilers: There is Bible passage i think where it says something along the lines of “the devil presents itself as an angel of light”, so warning that evil forcess present themselves as saviors to deceive the innocents. So this plot is kinda Biblically accurate.
I think midnight mass is a ghost story because one the story about this aging town without a lot of young people and yeah there a vampire in the story but the vampire is a vehicle to tell this story about a ghost town trying to come back to life but at the expense of the young
Just starting this video, if you don’t like midnight mass, I will disown you as my favorite UA-cam guy!!! (Jk I won’t, I do love this series so much though)
I recently rewatched for the 3rd time. Still one of my favorite series on Netflix
It was great! I’ll probably rewatch it someday

One of if not the best depiction of religious corruption ever put to screen. Mike Flanagan try not to eat every time challenge (impossible)

Youre not the first to mention this to me haha 😂
Thought the same thing lmao
I'm still not convinced they aren't the same person. Has anyone seen them in the same place at the same time?
Just watched it before you out it this review, I’ve gotta say that some parts definitely had me either on the edge of the chair or in awe, and other parts were like “umm wtf, why did they decide to do this”
1:17 Hahaha what was that? A little monster popped up.
It’s an alert I forget to turn off when I record sometimes haha

Midnight Mass is a better version of Salems Lot
Fight me!
Finally yes
Nice video, Ryan
Thank you! 🙏
Best Salem’s Lot Adaptation
I can’t wait until we can go more in depth in the next live
Nice hoodie btw bro!
Comfy too!
Amazing show. The complicated characters, intricate themes and creative story puts this in my top 3 shows of all time.

Top 3 vampire stories ever
Anyone else see the little zombie guy on his shoulder
Yep, at 1:17 for sure!
lol it’s my alert for a new subscriber, I forgot to turn it off when I recorded
I'm always down for more vampires
Yay Ryan! I wanted a shout out 😢
Your perseverance paid off haha
I like in the last episode she refused to drink his blood because of his ethnicity, and the last time we see her she’s on the beach literally trying to bury her head in the sand
Bev’s panicked ending while everyone else found peace was satisfying
Mike Flanagan doesn’t miss

Thank you! 🙏
Me and all my homies hate Beverly Keane 💯
👌

Pretentious, it's a Stephen King vampire story, not written by King

Creepy watch
I’ve never even heard of this movie before.
Not a movie
@ Yea I realised that a few minutes into the review haha.
