Hey man I got a a ttr 50 Ive cleaned the carburetor and it has fresh spark plug as well as a clean air filter but when I start it it has a very high idle do you know why?
Yeah I agree @matt DLG ! I come to the RM channel first for that as a major reason to know that I should have in the "possibly" pile, or the "don't bother with yet" pile. Wish more reviewers would give a quick breakdown of specs and sizing exaples like RM does a good job with. It's just as helpful for those of us looking at bikes for our kids as any technical info.
Thanks to RM for another "true" overview and sizing reference along with the specs. Its a pain to jet around to dealers all over the state trying to find a good fit AND get the right set of skills your little one is ready or not ready for yet. This bike saved me from a lot of frustration in that aspect. Highly recommend it. I do have a question though about the TTR50(E) that I haven't found a clear answer to... Is it possible with Yamaha or comparable parts/inner-case mods to do a reliable kickstarter mod? This bike has all the things my 6yo rider needs to get ready for the step up to a manual clutch, but wondered if anyone knew how to so he gets the experience kicking it over too. (I know other manufacturers are the obvious answer, but he bleeds blue and I would enjoy the project too!)
It looks like Yamaha made a GYTR Kick Start Kit for these bikes at one point but they aren't for sale online anymore. I would suggest calling a local Yamaha dealer and see if they have some information on where you could maybe locate one. Wish I could help you more!
PLEASE make a tutorial video on how you find off-road trails to go on multi day adventure rides on a motorcycle. How do you find the trails to stay off pavement as much as possible.
Upside down forks are supposed to have some advantages but most people won't be able to tell much difference in performance, especially on a kid's bike. Yamaha actually only ran inverted forks on these bikes for a couple years and the new models are back to conventional style forks. If you found a good deal on a 2018, I wouldn't worry about which style forks are on it!

Do you think my Kid can make a Wheely with TTR50.........he dreams with a hand clutch to make it. He allready has the PW50, but on his 9 year old he thinks is to slow and sharpless for him.

I noticed the forks are inverted, however I'm looking at a 2018 for my son, and it does not have that style forks. Is any one better than the other?
