Thank you guys so much for watching! I spent a long time working this up and it was a lot of fun to work on! I do wanna clarify something though before it comes up... 6:37 - I am aware those videos shown also make the point that it ISNT because I got older. I simply chose them because I thought they had the most attention grabbing thumbnails when I found them. But OTHER VIDEOS do happen to make that point. Just thought I'd clear the air. Thank you for the support and I hope you have a great day!
Mice on Venus is my favorite song from this game too. It reminds me of my oldest world which got corrupted in like 1.10 or something sadly D:. I tried burying myself in the ground with holes on the side like a log it was night near a river in the rain. It was a dark forest. But I remember a creeper getting down and I was so confused how it got in. Hilarious moments like that.
Also idk if anybody else agrees with it but Minecraft needs to take inspiration from terraria when it comes to multiplayer servers terraria is simple yet complicated for randoms to get into. For Minecraft setting it up on java on your computer is a pain after years I still hadn't figured it out.
@@AlexPlaysStuff-games I think terraria and Minecraft are two vastly different games design wise, and I think Minecraft just needs to walk a different path that still results in a mechanically fulfilling game.
Gotta say he was right about the trial key. Its a massive letdown that it cant be used more than once per player it diminishes the replayability that mojang wants for the trial chambers. And on god if they dont add unique loot to it im done with hoping for a decent new feature.
The thing that hurts the most about the situation with C418 is that he mostly finished volume gamma for minecraft a long time ago and it never got released due to microsoft trying to screw him over.
@@therealbottomdweller axolotl does play in game, though (so at least there's that). it was added all the way back in 1.13 with dragon fish and shuniji, but no new c418 songs have been added since.
Minecraft’s problem is not “bloating”, it’s the exact opposite, it’s shallowness. Bloating suggests that there is an over abundance of something, yet Minecraft’s problem is not that it has an over abundance of content, it’s that the content is lacking in depth. It is in fact the _lack_ of a feature that is the problem.
Actually thats a better way to word it! Nice! I was thinking of the idea of “As wide as an ocean, as deep as a puddle” So I went with bloating because I imagined the wide part not the deep part. Silly me! Thanks for watching though!
It’s also worth noting that we learned a couple weeks ago from leaks out of Mojang that the reason the update content has been so slim for the last several years is because Microsoft is deliberately limiting the amount of content and changes Mojang is allowed to make to the game, for fear of making the game “bloated” or changing anything about the core game. So Mojang has to go through a bureaucratic nightmare in order to add anything new or make any changes to the gameplay. I think there is also a bit of a miscommunication and a feedback loop between Microsoft, Mojang and the community where these complaints about “bloating” wind up being interpreted as “the game has too much content”, thus causing Mojang to add even less, with very little features that actually effect the gameplay, which then causes the community to complain even more about there being too much useless stuff, making Microsoft think they have to add even less. The only way I see this can be changed is if Microsoft eliminates the bureaucratic red tape that is debilitating Mojang’s development process, and allow Mojang to develop the game freely with the community. Minecraft has such immense potential, and even after 15 years, I don’t think it’s even begun to scratch the surface of it. @@therealbottomdweller
No no no. You’ve got it completely wrong. The whole point of minecraft was that it was simple, and that’s why it was good. You are now trying to add more content, more useless features that nobody is going to use, more nonsense. By adding more features, you remove the whole reason why the game is so nostalgic. You want more things, therefore more mob votes to be exploited by players, and that’s not it man. Everyone is playing too fast, unlocking the best gear too soon, and wondering why they have nothing to do. It’s about taking your time and enjoying the journey, not the destination. That’s what makes minecraft good.
8:37 What about Villager trading, Anvils, Beacons, Elytra, the off-hand, Shulker boxes, Upgrading to Netherite, Bartering, Archeology, and now the Vault, Wind charge etc.
The reason why c418's music doesn't "intrude" and distract you is because it only keeps iterating on the same few melodies and chord structure and doesn't leave you with moments of silence or pure ambience. That allows it to stay more in the backround because you'd notice a large change like that. Is also why they slowly build up to get you used to hearing it, being as non intrusive as possible. Them being faster and using less instruments also really helps. Being faster allows it to finish measures quicker and allow you to get comfortable with how they sound quicker. If you were to increase the speed of the beginning of the newer theme "Stand Tall" by like 1.75% then it automatically sounds more like minecraft, at least until it changes a bit in. The entire mood of the game was just different back then. You had no way to play with others, you were alone surviving and exploring a world. The music had to sound sad, hopeful or encouraging you to keep building or to keep building up resources. The new themes fit the genre of the game, an open world game. They don't however fit the feeling of minecraft specifically.
By the time your realize the music is playing it is almost over... leaving you to keep playing and waiting for the next track. It always feels perfectly timed.
I think the new Overworld music has a stronger feeling of wonder - especially Crescent Dunes. It makes you feel like you're exploring a strange new world. I think the biome-specific music helps the atmosphere, as you'll get comfortable with a certain track (I have heard the C418 water tracks so much I kinda started to get sick of them), so hearing something new feels wonderous. It's why Cresent Dunes sticks in my mind, hearing it play for what felt like the first time when I reached a Desert through a Nether Portal.
I really thought that I would never love Minecraft again. Until, me and a few buddies in college started a server. It is called the Quadjects, we all live near each other have simple rules and just hang out. It has shown me that mindset and commordary have a huge effect on the gameplay. We are very particular on who gets invited, so they fit in the group dynamic. It has flamed my love for minecraft a ton! We have a couple of guys not from the college, so if anyone is interested let me know! You just have to fit in the group dynamic!
@@therealbottomdweller I haven't ever experience Minecraft this way, I founded a group over 6 years ago. However, it took a turn when personal belief disagreements started. I own the Quadjects server with the philosophy of it never resetting in my lifetime. I want people who I come across to play it at their pace and timing. Eventually leading to their timeline ending on the server by their own choice, (life getting busy and stuff). To have a server ever evolving with people I come across is a neat idea to me, so I ran with it lol. Most of the guys who play go to college with me IRL, but a few are from that previous minecraft group! Of course, I am always open to welcoming new people, so if you're a random person reading this and like the idea let me know. We have minor plugins, no pay to win stuff, just a small cozy nook in a corner of the internet.

At 18:00 you talked about the server quality going down as loot-boxes, microtransactions, pay to win, and rewards from upvotes plague servers. But me personally, I've been playing since 2011, I have found these issues to be universal across time since large servers became a thing in the 2012-2013 era. Every server I went on usually had this as standard; pay for a really good starter kit, pay for ranks which give you insane bonuses, pay for items, and upvote the server for loot. I remember in 2013-2014 my friends and I would log in daily just to upvote the sever in order to get the reward from it as you could do it every 24 hrs. The prison shenanigans you mentioned have been my experience on most servers inclusive of kit pvp, prison, factions, hubs, ect. Every large server I went on was usually like that...
This, in my opinion, has been your best video to date. It brought back so many memories; I've been playing this game for over a decade, and I enjoy every aspect of Minecraft. I truly appreciated this video, so thank you for the incredible content. I will be watching for a very long time.
Mending was added beacuse the system with the anvil uses per item to raise the cost ruins your items after the third repair "cost to high" it would be better to remove meinding or make it rare (deep dark only) and also remove the level cost penalty so you can update and repair your items for ever. suddenly you need to collect diamonds to repair items.
I agree! Id much rather they just make it to where I can just repair with resources I have forever. Mending being in deep dark would be too easy, as you can sneak everywhere. Lock that to the End Cities so it’s quite literally an end game upgrade.
My biggest issue with the Smithing Templates and the Netherite Upgrade is that it’s not a coherent concept within the Minecraft universe. What in the world is a “template”? Is it a blueprint? Is it a magic stone? They should have just called it a Rune or Runestone, then it would at least have some magical fantasy world conceptualization around the idea. But “template” and “upgrade” leaves the whole idea rather dull and empty.
Imo having smithing templates is a great feature, at least for armour trims, although I don't have any strong feelings on the netherite upgrade either. Having the ability to customise your armour aesthetically just seems a great idea for being able to express yourself w/ your armour.
I'm a hypixel skyblock player and I just wanna say real quick that the only reason that thjey added pay to win was to cut down on irl trading which ruined the games economy
I miss the existence of humble servers. I learned a few years ago that there was no reason to join new servers because there's just no heart to them. It's just for money now. I wish that I made a home somewhere in one of the servers I was a part of a long time ago. I thought those minecraft servers, and the style of them, would be around forever. I was too young to really value those times, or to consider it'd change.
@@therealbottomdweller Same lol. I remember meeting a couple of people that I stayed in contact with outside of Minecraft - 2012-2014 time. Would've tried to meet a lot more people back then, or stay in contact more, if I knew those sorts of connections wouldn't happen again.
Exactly why I played Anarchy servers right here. HUMBLE SERVERS AND NO P2WIN CRAP! Or it was due to people using clients, and the freedom of F words everywhere!
22:36 you really put top text: "revenge" bottom text: "captain sparkles" while showing revenge by captain sparkles, in the most *emotional part of the video*
Terraria is always such a good example tbh… the community is getting a bunch of content and quality of life updates. And things just work. Minecraft focuses on the aesthetics atp. Because why was the warden so underwhelming after waiting for him to be added for so long..
Yeah! Granted Terraria’s entire game is built in a very different fashion, but Minecraft could certainly go with some neat additions to keep the gameplay fresh!
I got so bored playing 1.18 waiting for the next part of the update I still haven't even bothered to check it out. I've never seen the deep dark because when I tried making a new world in that update I got way too bored exploring the enormously empty caverns. Yeah the first few times I saw them it was amazing, but then I realised that was all they were, something to look at. If anything they took away from my mining experience because I spent so much time running around aimlessly trying to find any sort of resource other than the new (and useless) copper that I just quit the game because it never seemed worth it. I new at the end of the day I was just going to go through the exact same motions we've all been repeating for years, just this time with more decorative blocks that I won't use because I can't build for the life in me anyway
Great video! Your ideas for what smithing templates could have been were especially great. In regards to multiplayer servers, ones like you are longing for do still exist. I own one such server called Sandlot Minecraft. Our community has shrunk since the combat update, but we still have a small and very dedicated player base that is very kind and fun to hang out with.
My friends are the reason minecraft hit different in the past. Now they don't even give it a try because they have a mindset where they want to beat the game as quickly as possible. While me and only 1 other friend actually try to enjoy the process by acting like we are new to the game and get excited over every little thing. The armor trims helped a ton with motivation because we always aimed to get the nicest ones and they were quite difficult to get. We also have a goal of getting all combinations of all armor trims.
( 1/2 ) This video got me feeling things man... That ending almost made me tear up, and it's interesting how much history we share. Much like you, I started in 2011, went over to my cousin’s house once and I distinctly remember his mum saying ‘He’s upstairs playing mindcraft’ which I still chortle at to this day. After that I was obsessed with those exact Survival Island and Shadow of Israphel series, but at the time I didn’t have the game, so I genuinely thought that flying ships, talking npcs and storylines is what the game actually WAS. That right there I'd say is what made it so magical at the start. Internet forums were still early, so most people genuinely had no clue what the game offered as it wasn't possible to dissect it and learn every detail. We had no pc or laptop, so the Xbox 360 edition was what we played. And without fail, every day before and after school I would hop on with my sister or school friends and work on a city, or start a new survival world, look at patch notes and simply have a whale of a time without a care in the world. All the while my parents would fall asleep on the sofa while listening to its music. Heck, as cringe as it sounds I wouldn't have any of the friends I do now without it. Little old year 7 me, feeling lonely at secondary school while eating lunch in the bistro overheard two others talking about the latest minecraft update. I shimmied over to them, and to this day still 9 years later I am still good friends with them, we still play minecraft together, and have just started up yet another vanilla server. Updates felt revolutionary, mostly down to the fact that my smol brain could look at the new horses and would treat it like the second coming of Jesus. Every tiny thing felt completely new, but there was always that air of mystery. Now though, it definitely does feel different. The game has such a large community, with so many ways to express themselves that Mojang now have to consider the impact of an update on peaceful players, builders, redstoners and so on. It's complex, and I feel like that desire to please the majority has led to them slowing down updates to be more careful with what is added, to their detriment. Back then I guarantee they added stuff just because they wanted to. Over the last year, I have taken up modding minecraft, and as such I've had the opportunity to talk with other well known modders as well as join in conversations with devs themselves about the game's design and approach to new updates. One of the two main reasons why updates take so long to produce now, according to those modders and some developers, is that any new update is designed to incorporate as much of the playerbase as possible. At the moment, kingbdogz (the one who led the development of the warden, deep dark, trial chambers and amour trims at the moment) has expressed how he is aiming to find ways to provide greater extrinsic motivators to the game. This is a great example of this community split. The crux of design issues that lead to the hesitancy to simply push new stuff is just how these things are planned to integrate with the different playerbases. While I'll admit some decisions like cutting the foliage updates in the wild update has no real relation to this, and it's exemption makes little sense, this philosophy can be seen in other parts of the game as a whole. One of the hot topics that is brought up a lot is people wanting progression to be deeper, more like terraria. At the moment it doesn't take long to get full diamond tools, and only marginally longer to get them enchanted. The smithing tablet is really one of the only barriers in terms of gear progression. But one thing developers have brought up numerous times is how a potential progression update could harm other player groups. Using terraria as an example, I do like it's progression because the game is built around it. But if I ever want to build anything substantial, i basically have to wait until endgame to get the tools that let me clear space effective enough for it to not be tedious. if minecraft had forced bossfights that gated progression, builders would be forced to do combat, peaceful players won't be able to progress at all, and further balance would need to be made to tune the difficulty of those bosses based on the available gear at the time. And once those bosses are taken out, they would be left behind and eventually power creep would make future fights a cakewalk. Meanwhile the smithing tablet can still be obtained in peaceful mode, people can avoid fights by building or mining around the structure, and combat enjoyers can still enjoy a tough fight in the bastion with gear as the reward. This way, every player can enjoy it, even if the individual experience may be lessened because of it. There are definitely still some features that are more specialised to a certain group, but in general I'd say that this has become a more prevalent focus for them over the last few years. Even something like the crafter, while yes it is a redstone item, can still be utilised by almost all player groups. Combat users could set up a simple clock to autocraft combat items, builders can make slabs, and redstoners no doubt will find some incredibly groundbreaking machine that alters the way people play the game. Obervers are much the same.
( 2/2 ) Overall it seems they are trying to be a lot more careful. Not only does every update need rigorous testing to accommodate all the different types of computer hardware, but they also need to consider bedrock parity, networking, console inputs, moddability and more. The aforementioned considerations for how something affects a playerbase so varied in preference has reportedly slowed down a lot of what they wish to implement. They do often lay the foundations for future updates, for instance a minor version in 1.16 or 15 introduced vertical biome splits based on Y axis, which was what allowed the caves and cliffs update to exist at all, yet when that was added it served no purpose. Even if the updates may be reduced in scope, I personally feel like they've all had aspects to them that sparks my imagination once more. I'd say 1.16 was the last update that felt truly magical, 1.17 and 18 was huge for me as it made caving far more enjoyable, as I still look at cave structures and picture the building potential it offers. And while small, and missing a lot of what I hoped it would add, the wild update's deep dark and ancient city opened up so much potential in what could come in the future while offering a gameplay experience so very different to what we had in any structure before that I still consider it a solid update looking solely at what was added. I do still feel like the updates aren't quite giving their all, but I do still personally enjoy what has been added. The game's music though, still sticks to me no matter what. TO.. THIS ... DAY the soundtrack is still my most listened to set of albums on spotify every single year. Listening to Dreiton, Taswell or Aria Math in that creative world on xbox ties emotions to a piece that no other song has managed to emulate since. People have those songs, - you know, the ones that their parents used to play them, or ones that spoke to them on a higher level, to me the Minecraft soundtrack evokes that feeling of 'anything is possible, go wherever you want to go, be whoever you want to be', and thus hearing it just instills a sense of power and control that is tough to explain. Alpha is such a masterpiece it still makes me tear up listening to it as to me it perfectly symbolises the ups and downs for life itself, our perceptions of the game and the very heart of a minecraft world. Ultimately our thoughts on music seem very alike. lena Raine's Wild update ost is mixed, but the nether soundtrack absolutely slaps. Her caves and cliffs one i'd say does manage to capture a little more of that initial Beta and Alpha style, as songs like infinite amethyst have a similar buildup and drop to Taswell or Aria Math, and One more day is probably one of my favourites of that specific album, although other pieces from that album do stray a little bit. Arron Cherof's seems to me like a mix of them both but still ends up being too hectic at times. While Bromeliad starts of with some subtlety, that synth can take some of that focus away from the game. Funnily enough, I'd say that beyond Lena's 1.16 album, kumi Tanoika's work feels like it understands the importance of rest and space in the composition the most, as they hardly ever get in the way but can provide the emotional weight to provide some sort of feeling to what's happening in game. However, nothing will top their ace. C418 sticks to me to this day on an almost spiritual level that is hard to describe, and while the other soundtracks still *sound* good, it's almost an allegory for the game's change in approach. Taswell pumps me up beyond belief, sparks the imagination and reminds me of good times. But the thing is, I personally still feel like I'm living those good times. Despite all these things, despite the reduced update pace, despite the over saturation of '100 days in...!' content, despite the manipulative servers and complete dissection of what the game contains, I am in a unique position as the game is still fun. While I no longer have that sense of discovery, as I know every loot pool, structure and spawn condition, what is left is that feeling of wanting to make the world what I want it to be - to embrace that holy slogan from the game's trailer, and simple do what I wanna do. While I might not be able to feel that discovery like I could back then, I still feel it is possible to CREATE something worth discovering. Channels like Fwhip or MythicalSausage go to great depths to explain the storytelling behind their worlds, and I feel that is the perfect way to inject new life into the game. I have learned the game inside and out, so creating something new is how I find fun. Create something that could instill those same emotions as you did when you first got the game, do what the yogscast did and create your own story that has the potential to captivate other users. This was an awful lot of writing I know, but I guess that's what minecraft does to you once it's ingrained into your very soul. However before I post, I will say this... I work in retail, in a small family run shop in my local town. Selling sweets, veggies, fruits, all the classic supermarket stuff. Every day at 3:30 the school rush starts. And every day, almost without fail, I see kids with Creeper T shirts, steve backpacks, foam swords and pickaxes, and I hear them talking about the game like I did back then. So while you and I may have grown up, witnessed an era and embraced it into our very being, there are still those who are only just getting into it. While the landscape is different and they will experience things differently to what we did, they are only just starting that journey. it's hardly a game at this point, it itself is an experience, a community, a state of being. And I could have wished for nothing better than to have been a part of it, and still be a part of it. I hope that in whatever you choose to do next, you manage to reignite that spark and find the joy in it once again.
Its wild just how strong the memories are from this game, right? I agree on the updates not being huge since 1.16, which at this point was several years ago. Im glad this video struck true for you, and thank you for watching! Hope to see you next time!
(2/2) When it started to turn day, I remember breaking out of my shack and getting jump scared by a creeper. I survived with 2 hearts and my little dirt shack was almost completely blown up. After fixing up my shack, I decide to go mining. Because there were no caves nearby, I decided to dig straight down, a classic mistake any new player makes. I didn't fall in lava like you would think, instead I feel into a cave and got blown up by creeper that I didn't see. I lost almost all the wood that was on the island because I chopped down all of trees to fix my shack and build a single chest. Because I chopped down all of the trees on my island, I completely broke all of wooden planks that were used to fix my shack (I was unaware that saplings replanted trees). After making myself a new set of tools, I decided to make my house completely out of cobblestone, with the exception of a couple windows made with glass blocks. After I rebuilt my shack, I decided to venture out with a boat to find more trees. After sailing what felt like thousands of blocks, I landed ashore and found a forest. When I was chopping down trees, night fell, and I got shot to dead by a skeleton because I had no armor. This death really pissed me off and I stopped playing for the day. I don't remember much after my first time playing on that world because it has been almost 11 years, but I do remember it took me 2 weeks in real life to get a full set of iron armor and it also took me a month to find diamonds. I eventually moved on from that world and played another survival world because I found it a pain in the ass to have to venture out every time I wanted to gather resources. I left off on that world with only iron armor and tools, a cobblestone house with a wooden roof, a small wheat farm by the ocean, and a mine going down to bedrock. Even though my first world never developed much, I'm grateful to still be able play that world on my PC today. Not many people still have access to their first Minecraft world. Recovering that humble little world a couple years ago made me tear up. After I recovered my first world from that old laptop's hard drive, I expanded and redecorated my house, made a better wheat farm, made a enchanting room, made mob grinder, got diamond gear, and went to the Nether. Still haven't beaten the Ender Dragon on that world yet because I am in no rush to do everything.
I like Lena’s music because of its different, it has a different feel, it makes me want to explore, but C418 made me want to put down roots and stay in one spot because of its mysterious vibes, neither are bad, I love both, they just make me want to do different things
Mojang added depth to the gane in rescent updates. For example - watering and drying mud to get clay. I built legit brick factory inside the game because of this mechanic
That doesn’t provide new gameplay though, theres nothing about the progression of the player that changes because of that. Thanks for watching btw! Hope your day goes swimmingly!
@@therealbottomdweller dude are you serious? I built freaking brick factory with working coveyor belts, lava genereators, aotomatic watering system with dispensers and water bottles and automatic furnices. If it's not new gameplay - I don't know what is new gameplay for you. I never was so excited to play minecraft since 2012. And I played minecraft a lot for every year since 2012
that feeling when in the Cave update we only got one new Ore and you can't even make tools out of it, even though in real life it was one of the first materials to make tools after stone. (COPPER) so much wasted potential.+ think that copper Was added and the copper golem was not a standard part of the update, it should have been voted for. so that it could have been added to the game. + as a cave update, there is not much new to discover in the caves after the first experience. so there's nothing wrong with updates per se, but they're usually either too small or focus too much on one small detail or many random things that aren't related to each other. it would be nice to get more updates like the Nether update, I wouldn't mind if I had to wait longer. if the update was really worth the wait. Great Video !
This is why I`ve turned to modding the game. I know too much about Minecraft so nothing is fresh and new, and these newer updates I could really care less for. The latest update I play on is 1.16.5 before caves and cliffs because that`s the last version I played on officially before they went to Bedrock on consoles. And I will say, between learning the mods and nostalgia, my 2 week Minecraft phase has been going on for a month strong to the point where I`m teaching my gf how to play so she can see why I love the game so much
One thing I’m infinitely thankful for is mods and being able to easily play on any version. I grew up with 1.6.4 mods like Orespawn, twilight forest, Godzilla etc, because those mods did what vanilla Minecraft couldn’t: progression. Even after 13 years, Minecraft’s progression barely changed, get enchanted diamond/netherite, kill the wither and dragon… and that’s kinda it, nothing else to do (besides what you set for yourself). Those mods add sooo many new bosses, weapons and armor, and weird random things as well, I genuinely feel like those mods are more Minecraft than modern vanilla versions.
@@thewhitefalcon8539 I understand where you’re coming from, but survival Minecraft should have some progression, you can always choose to not go to the end, in reality there’s barely anything there. I believe that we shouldn’t ignore the survival aspect of the game just because of the sandbox aspect, they can co-exist
amazing video, you have explained all the problems that minecraft has these days and i am glad i am on the same page as you, it makes me sad seeing todays servers being pay-to-win and having complicated mechanics that no one has seen before. Maybe one day the good old servers that were simple and had barely any plugins will come back, one day i hope
I still can't get over sniffer. To get it I had to spend around 2 hours first to find the warm ocean, then to find a lot of ruins and dig them up. And it was a cool adventure, but the reward was... A completely out of place, alien looking mob, that makes weird and annoying noises around every 3 seconds, doesn't even fit in color scheme of minecraft and introduces 2 flowers that you can only use for decoration. What a lost potential. They could have added at least one new potion effect, or make torchflower emit light, just so we have at least something new and useful. But no, that's too much to ask from a multimillion company. Honestly, if new mechanics isn't an option, fine, but make it at least 3 decorative flowers, 2 is such a weird number and feel like a spit in the face.
0:48 Woot! Infiniminer mention! Kinda a shame that for a game with so many references to other games via the paintings and splash texts I don't think there's a single mention of Infiniminer.
You're so unbelievably underrated, even though I've only watched this video so far i can tell that you know what you're talking about atleast to some degree. This video is amazing, and it's impressive that you managed to understand those emotions, because emotions are hard to describe when someone does manage to describe them it helps understand them alot. And you manged to do it, thats super impressive, amazing video.
Thank you for the really kind words! I appreciate it! took me a month to write and edit this video in particular, and im glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching, Hope to catch ya next time!
I have a resource pack that removes all non c418 tracks because after a year of hearing the Lena raine tracks, I genuinely can’t, this doesn’t feel like minecraft in the slightest
While some of her tracks don't fit minecraft very well, there's also some of them that i actually really like and they feel like they've been in the game for a long time for example: infinite amethyst or as the person who made this video said, rubedo (sorry if you're reading this i just didn't know how to call you)
Wow, this is an amazing video. It felt like a breath of fresh air with the simple, charming editing compared to most other over the top edited videos that are so common on this platform nowadays. Your narration feels natural and genuine which makes it sound like you are truly speaking your mind on the topic and this alone made me invested enough to watch the whole thing through. Keep it up!
You are so right on about mending! The problem right now is that it's needed because anvil's in their current state are so broken. If they got rid of mending but also made it so repairing in an anvil doesn't go up exponentially with enchantments, I think it would strike the right balance between grind, satisfaction, and balance. But in the anvil's current state, mending is sadly required.
I get why mending is there, but couldnt they have just programmed the anvil to have a set price for repairs and leave everything else to scaling? Makes no sense to make an enchantment that cuts out half the game’s name sake.
The first 30 seconds of intro gave me chills as nostalgic clips and music flew throughout me.. Scratch that- this entire video gives me chills. I'm extremely impressed.
It sucks how there are so many people with amazing ideas that could improve and add depth, yet they have no power to do so. Great video btw, a lot of valid points that I haven't seen mentioned yet in other videos.
Ay thanks for the kind words and for watching! The community makes insane mods for the game all the time that adherently improve the game, its insane! Shame they aren’t allowed to take in mod ideas anymore.
My problem with minecraft nowadays has nothing to do with the game and more so with the community. although the game for sure has it's problems the current state of the community for me kinda adds to it. Just to give an example with minecraft youtubers.. in the past people were making minecraft videos just for the sake of sharing something they made or to simply show off how much fun they are having in this game and sharing their experience with others, and as a viewer you could really see it. Nowadays people just seem to follow along trends and challenges and making the best and biggest thing that no one has ever seen before.. it just feels more and more like a competition and less of a community.
I can totally see that! I loved watching old multiplayer lets plays. Right now its more of a contest of who can do “100 days” of an obscure challenge more.
As a person who has really never played beta in my childhood, I still get nostalgia from beta minecraft all thanks to C418. His music just reminds you of the time when life was easy, when life was all sunshine and rainbows when you were younger.
C418 is a wizard of invoking nostalgia even when it isn’t remotely nostalgic. Funny it became nostalgic for me though, given that this was well over a decade ago, because now that nostalgic sound is amplified! Thanks for watching btw!
Awesome video. I do disagree with the armor trim point though. Armor trim gives a new reason to explore structures that I would not care about exploring when I'm already full enchanted netherite. Adding various effects to make your already pretty unkillable character even more unkillable would make the game more boring imo, I think its just cool to get to customize the armor I wear all the time. For Mojang to add ways to make your character even more busted, they also have to add tougher challenges to justify wanting to make your character stronger.
I think the game needs a difficulty tweak to make the upgrades worthwhile, but armor trim should just be available instead of dungeon locked. Will agree though, they made enchants far too strong and make the game a cake walk. Thank you for watching! Hope to see you next time!
I thought about how much I didnt like that, so I went through the trouble to make an actual posable Minecraft character and built something for a backdrop. Glad you like it! Thanks for watching!
Ahh yes, I remember my first Minecraft world... Being on a frozen mountain making a spruce wooden frame close to dark over 30 blocks off the ground from a frozen cliff with a spruce forest underneath me. The water for my food kept freezing... Wonder. It had a special feeling that I've never quite captured again. It's also why I always build in frozen environments too now even in other games like terraria. It just sucks that whenever I start a new Minecraft world, I never seem to get that feeling, but when I start a new terraria world I do...I wish it was different
the whole foundations of minecraft was like legos: simple blocks that dont do that much alone but can be used for infinite possibilities. Each new block was carefully integrated into the game in a logical way. The devs tought about the uses of a certain block before adding it. New blocks however feel… modded! They dont interact with the rest of the game and have only one use. Copper for example should’ve never been added. All the recipes that use copper could’ve very well be gold or iron and so, mojang is forced to put copper into every new recipe to give it a use but it’s not enough…
I strongly disagree with your take on copper. It was always mainly supposed to be a decorative building block and it’s one of my favorites at that. The fact that there are crafting recipes using it doesn’t mean that it is copper’s main purpose. Pretty much the same goes for the majority of new blocks. However I understand how it might feel for someone who isn’t that concerned about building, from this perspective many new additions are kinda out of place.
One thing I wish would happen would be for Mojang to make definitive and easy to access versions of Minecraft that just Capture its soul as it's grown or changed. Other games have the Benefit of Having a [Insert Game Name] 1 and then the sequel, and it becomes easy to just play the original and still have a maintained community. Minecraft while you can just downdate in the launcher doesn't have a definitive and easy to access "versions". If the game was almost broken up into current Minecraft and Minecraft Classic (beta 1.7 or something) and it was available in the launcher almost as a different game you would maintain a community in the old soul of the game who wouldn't get as frustrated watching it update. Would also inspire servers, let's plays, mods and so on all specific to this stable version so the community can focus on it and feel comfortable in the old soul and whenever they want join the modern community.
Id agree, but minecraft letting us run previous versions back is already really cool of them. It might be out of the way, but atleast its there. Other games would scoff at that idea.
I feel like mojang should do one of these things to save Minecraft. A: update the end with new biomes, ores, structures, mobs and trees, similar to the nether update B: add a new dimension that you actually need to visit to beat the game. Wouldn’t it be cool if you had to get a sponge from and elder guardian, a nether star from the wither, and the dragon egg from the elder dragon, then go into the portal in the deep dark, traverse many biomes until you find a structure that you put the items into and it spawns a new final boss?
@@thewhitefalcon8539 I mean they don’t need to be better than netherite but that would be nice tho. I think we need ores in the end as we already have multiple ores in the over world and nether so I think we need ores in the end for progression for a reason to explore more of the end
@@LyricTrackLTMCraft no we just have too many ores. It clutters inventories. You could do it with RuneScape style infinite stacks if you reworked the whole inventory system, or ore satchels like some mods have.
Saved this. To watch later i only check that every few years, hopefully ill watch this video and look back and go " minecraft has gotten so much better!"
You talked about one of the things that really bothers me with the most recent updates, and it's how a lot of the new things added in them are just for technical players. As you said, not all of us are redstone experts who pass their afternoons building functional computers inside of Minecraft. Most of us use it for farms or contraptions, but that's it. And besides that, another thing that pisses me off is when the "novelty" of an update is a command. Like, why would I want to use a command? I'm not interested in that, and I can bet the biggest part of the community doesn't even know they exist. And it's even worst on Bedrock (my preferred version), as the game disables trophies when you use commands because they're considered cheating, so when that happens there's basically no update for us. The few things they add that can actually be obtained in survival are just lame, like the sniffer or the ceramic sherds, episodic things to do once and never do them again.
I remember playing Minecraft lite when it came out and mimicking my favorite UA-camrs at the time XerainGaming, they were my introduction to Minecraft and now nearly 20, I still rewatch and play older versions of Minecraft on PC to remember those days.
The end conclusion made me sad. Even as a 15 year old that just got my copy last year I still go back and play old versions of Minecraft for their simplicity. Last year at this time I didn’t know how to make a crafting table, or even to chop down a tree. Since then I am starting to learn how to make red stone automatic sugarcane farms. Me mommy little brother makes his own design for them lol. I’m so grateful for my little 11 almost 12 year old brother who taught me how to play Minecraft. My personal favorite songs for the game top 5 are : 1: Mice On Venus 2: Sweden 3: Otherside 4: Haggstorm 5: Wet hands
top servers has nothing to do with Minecraft, in fact that way of ranking was never a way to measure how good a server is, quite the opposite in fact. i know it's sad, but to be expected that only the worse of things come on top while the good things sink to the bottom. and good things don't last, just be thankful for the time you had and move on.
It shouldn’t be that way is the issue. Youre right though, good things dont last! I will always remember what the game has done for me. Thanks for watching!
It doesnt add enough to constitute me returning to the game imo. It adds a new dungeon, a busted weapon with a low drop rate, and essentially rocket jumping pearls. Neat concepts, but yet again it only adds more features that doesnt expand upon existing systems. Redstone got Auto Crafting though, which is nice. Too bad its for redstone players though. Nothing about how the player progresses through the game has really changed.
Minecraft does not have a problem, it’s just not a new game to us, we have played it so much that we know all there is. I still think it’s a 10/10 game.
Best part is servers like mine are not allowed on the official server list but servers like the one your talking about are i literally only sell donation stuff that gives you more homes and spend so much money on my server only because i like this game that much
Rubedo gives me this feeling of exploring something unknown, something that awaits you but its right in fornt of you ....minecraft is an emotion .but as time went on minecraft became very progression based game, idk it just made me sad
Progression based gameplay isnt all bad if they do it right, which they did not. Rubedo is a jam though! Thanks for watching btw! Hope you have a great day!
I think the linear progression peaked in 1.0, but horizontal progression was added a bunch after that. Think the Deep Dark or Ocean Monuments. Sidequests you can do at any time to expand your block pallete.
the new pale garden is so disappointing. it's literally just an empty biome, with a completely worthless mob. why does the creaking have to be so gimmicky? why can't it just spawn like a normal mob, maybe they could make it more interesting, by making only creakings spawn in the biome, and making them sprint at you and spawn in hordes instead of being a boring weeping angel gimmick with no threat to the player
Honestly I didnt have too much of an issue outside of it being a visually boring biome. I atleast liked the amber blocks and white wood. The creaking definitely couldve been more interesting. At the very least faster so its actually a threat when youre not looking at it.
My first ever survival night was me not knowing what to do. I had never played the game before. Didn’t even know you could break trees. It became night got scared, dug a hole then stopped playing survival for a while because I decided to play creative. After about 3 months I started a new survival world. 😭 that was around 10-11 years ago.
When the video ended, I look at your acc to find you’re a small UA-camr, I’m very surprised because this feels like work from a big UA-camr! Keep up the good work I subscribed
the april fools updates almost serve as an antithesis then, as they are off the wall unpredictable joke mods officially from Mojang but actually provide incredible concepts done in vanilla, like the potato dimension and the hover block
*eyeballs grapple hook* maybe next decade, my beloved. Seriously tho I hate when they throw it into an april fools update like it wasnt the sickest concept ever. Poisonous potato update was genuinely good.
@therealbottomdweller I feel like grapple hooks are too good for maneuverability, almost in that sort of position as the Elytra where once you get it, it makes other methods of traversal obsolete. But I can also see it as a support tool for building since you wouldn't have to run down a scaffolding to build a new one somewhere else, or put down dirt to reset scaffolding limits and make a bigger mess of items when you're done like how I play Terraria, I dont really place blocks or platforms to get around because I think they look ugly. So instead I try to gun it for a grappling hook as fast as possible because it's just _THAT_ good for cave exploration. Now I don't think there'd be a Terraria style grappling hook, maybe more like the physics object style we see in Grapple mods. But I think that'd be too much given Mojang wants to push for "Complexity born from Simplicity" as their peak design philosophy. And I imagine they view a dynamic physics based item as too complex
I understand perfectly what you are saying, excellent point of view, It was very melancholic, It almost made me cry at the end. Maybe it's time to look for players with the same ideals and create a community Thanks for the video!
imo, it's too easy to survive, and past a certain point, everything gets insanely tedious and repetitive. They better do something quick, because there are rising stars that are going to eat their lunch.
Difficulty could easily be added if they just added some sort of relatively consistent day time threats. Thanks for watching btw! Hope to see you again!
I think this boils down to just experience, what's easy to you could be really difficult to a new player, what's repetitive and tedious to you can be new, interesting and unknown to a new player All in all it's entirely perspective based
@@SoonSilverIdk, I've been playing off and on since 1.9 and I've always found the learning curve too easy. I find games that are less documented and/or more difficult to be more appealing, such as Vintage Story, or some of the games for the Luanti (formerly Minetest) engine.
Great video! This little piece just randomly got recommended to me by UA-cam, this proves that your video is getting more popular. As for the game, I, a vanilla player, hold the same opinion that the game has changed so dramatically that it had became something that is far more different from what MINECRAFT used to be. The game just wasn’t as compelling with this modern direction. I just hope that something would clicked out of nowhere and Mojang would finally do something to help bring the feeling of the good old days back to game.
i feel like some of minecraft’s bad direction is the player’s fault too. Like, everything that gets added is just farmed. They just make minecraft a mindless grinder
dude youre incredibly underrated and that point you presented at the end of minecraft becoming a new game is so true , im glad im not the only one who cant sit through even an hour of ,,new" minecraft gameplay . i decided to invest in an xbox 360 , started a minecraft world and wow ... it felt like i was actually playing the game i grew up with . thank you so much for publishing this video . absolutely no hate to mojang or the kids growing up on this version of minecraft , it just doesnt feel the same speaking in the sense of nostalgia . )) edit id like to add ; i feel as if current minecraft isnt relaxing anymore either . it feels more like a task to build something than it does fun .. for people who like to experiment with creativity , perhaps the new features are wonderful , however , in my opinion , less building options opened up way more possibilities , builds have lost so much originality overtime , everything looks the same ,, whereas in older versions of minecraft , every build had its own vibe , almost as if people had a signature style that wasnt as replicated .
Ay Thanks for the kind words! Glad you found it relatable, its interesting to see how much everyone agrees on this. Thanks for watching! Hope to catch ya next time!
My problem isn't the direction of the updates, plenty of updates are good, be it for redstoners, for datapack makers and for explorers too, my problem is that each update feels extremely lackluster, like each update contains features that a modder would make in much less time, with much more content and much less bugs, i don't doubt the capabilities of the devs, I do however, blame microsoft and their hinder on the game's true update progression. Be it cancel features, revert changes the community saw as good changes, keep bad changes, and focus mainly on the cash grab, be it the marketplace or spin off games (and seeing that all spin off games are constantly getting discontinued shows how bad they are), in true honestly, microsoft is the true culprit, and knowing microsoft, there's no hope to change things back to how they were, and it's honestly a shame. Because now that java has "experimental" features toggles added, they for some unknown reason, don't utilize it to its full potential either, what do i mean by that? all current toggles in the experimental features are prune to be added no matter what, they're not experimental, they're pre-snapshots, meaning they're buggier features that aren't "ready" for snapshots, but will make it there one day, but it makes the experimental features lack the basis that could honestly save minecraft, and it's to add ALL experimental features, be it ones that WILL be added, to ones that are still on the shelf, there could be soooooo many experimental features that can be used to let mojang know how the community feels about them, for example, the long desired vertical slabs, mojang denied it for "causing lack of creativity", but that's nonsense and we know it, they could add this to experimental and have the community decide if it ruins their creativity or not. I think, in order to not hype the community too much in a way that could mislead them to think they are guaranteed features, they should add an absurdly large amount of experiments at once, and say that they may or may not be in the game. Here's a list of ideas I think could be added: - villager changes (currently existing) - bundles (currently existing) - next update (currently 1.21) - vertical slabs - player NPCs - fireflies - birch forest - losing biomes (from biome votes) - losing mobs (from mob votes) - a bunch of random ideas thrown in by the devs (or any they accept from the community) Once one of these experiments get positive feedback, they can shift it into the "next update" toggle, or push into the snapshots phase, if any get negative feedback, based on the feedback, they could either revamp it, or remove it (by based on the feedback i mean if they utterly hate it or that it's underwhelming and could use some changes).
I had to go through the depths of the internet to find a data pack that replaces the new music with C418’s original stuff, or just play on an older version, but I still miss them in the game
Finally a video i agree with the points of. I can even relate to being introduced to the game, just instead of me overlooking a parent playing it I overlooked a friend playing it.
I really love the video and appricate you making it. This brought up so many childhood memories. It's great to take a trip back to those years haha. I hope you're doing well! :)
you know i feel like minecraft lacks competition. Without it, the game has no reason to increase its standards or come back to its senses. I really hope when Hytale comes out itll blow Minecraft out of the water. I really hope so. Just so that Minecraft can finally rise up again and be better
@@thewhitefalcon8539 ive only heard about minetest 2 times, i counted. An Mc competitor needs to catch the public eye, if not its just another participant in the voxel survival genre. An mc mod keeps you playing mc, it doesnt count
I think it's mostly the reality of a big project, it's difficult. They do weird ambitious marketing things but on the other hand have to play it safe more than they used to too, both on gameplay incidentals and technical complexity. A lot of content is probably half way on the cutting room floor, I wouldn't be surprised if bigger changes start coming back that they've worked on behind the scenes without wanting to over promise too much about - marketing noise in the meantime has to justify its existance with strange votes.
And also builders have changed now they do it for views but back then they just built for fun they built every day they can have farm and cool base but I miss olds times when people just meet it for fun.
I'm pretty goddamn sure this is the best thing you've made yet. Everything HAS felt different lately, disappointing updates, servers resetting, etc. Now, well... yeah. You put a lot of effort here, and that's plain to see. It's a masterpiece! Happy 500 Subbies, and happy stack-of-videos! Keep these coming, and... remember us when you're famous :
The main problem with Minecraft updates is that they are to small they are only able to connect to a few things and not to enough aspects of the game which forces the developers to make gimmick update. I learned this when the developer of Worldbox were ask when they will release there next update and they said they were basically making a sequel with how big the update was and it makes total sense as to why Minecraft updates feel off.
I do think modern Minecraft updates are lacking depth, however, I disagree that armor trims should have buffs with them because its essentially the same thing that potions or enchantments can do and I like how you can improve/customize your armor without getting too Overpowered like full protection 4 Netherite armor already is and basically makes you unkillable. Mojang can also just add a new enchantment or new armor set if they want to add a new ability to armor, I think armor trims are one of the best cosmetic type of items as they are used on armor which everyone has and allow you to customize yourself, when wearing armor, rather than a banner or a pot.
I agree power creep would be insane, but I just used armor trims to shoot an example about how Mojang has this natural ability to do the bare minimum required. If they found a way to make rewarding, mechanically deep additions that wasnt power creep based im all for it.
@@therealbottomdweller Yea, I just don't think armor trims are meant to give a special ability as too many other things in the game already do that like enchantments, special armor sets maybe, potions, other items and so on. I think something like the new mace is great as a new weapon that is more useful in some situations and less useful in others. I think armor trims are mostly fine the way they are, they should just be more of an added cosmetic bonus for doing something, like music discs rather than the main reward.
@@therealbottomdweller This is also part of the reason why archeology is so boring, it's because the only exclusive loot it has is cosmetic. Also, I think armor trims are a much better cosmetic reward than pottery sherds since nobody ever uses pots, but everyone has armor.
My problem is that updates lack focus and direction. The best ones often have a central theme, reform game mechanics and introduce interesting concepts. Like Village and Pillage, Aquatic Update, World of Color, Cave update Nether Update was the best because it had a very clear focus and succeeded in what it tried to do. My suggestion to Mojang is: make fewer updates less frequently but with higher quality polish. Add only the necessary things, use existing recipes and existing mechanics to make new ite, if possible. Glowstone dust to signs -> text glows, for example Dont update just because shareholders are and higher ups are like "okay you need to have an update twice a year on schedule" I also find the lack of structures good. I like exploring and making resources out of stuff I gather int the world. In a way I wish Minecraft was more about techincal stuff and automation, industrial direction. Exploration stuff is good but it should be more about biomes and resources than dungeons to go through
Honestly I don't keep up with minecraft updates. I didn't even realize 1.20 released until November last year, way past the release date. I fell in love with Minecraft back in late 2011 when I'd watch Stampy and other youtubers on my grimey little Kindle Fire. The whole reason I even got my first computer was FOR minecraft. Both Beta 1.7 and full release 1.6 are the only versions I play to this day. When I envision minecraft in my head, its those versions I see. Not what it is nowadays. Even when with friends, modern minecraft doesn't FEEL like minecraft. It's not even really about growing up for me. I play with friends on beta 1.7 and full release 1.6 all the time, literally played yesterday for 6 hours with a friend, and it's amazing. I feel as happy as I did back in 2012-2015. I rewatch older minecraft videos, (Especially Unstoppableluck... Have all his videos on loop 24/7) and they're just as good as the day they were uploaded. Newer minecraft-related stuff has just. Gone in a direction I do not enjoy. It's not *Minecraft* to me. It might still have the same name but it is NOT the minecraft I enjoyed and still enjoy to this day.
What a great video. I gotta say, I thought you were a big (50k+) UA-camr when I was watching your video. Good stuff (little late but congrats on 1k subs). Even though I don’t have the exact same experience with the game as you (I haven’t played the new versions, different servers, game modes, etc), I can see and agree with your points. I stopped playing around (or just before) 1.9. To me, the game started to change after 1.8 when they started adding useless blocks like granite, diorite, etc. Before that I always wanted them to add a ton of new stuff, but looking at how the game is now, I wish it was simple again. It’s weird, because, though I never played it myself, I always enjoyed the Tekkit modpack which added a ton of new structures, mobs and mechanics whereas the new structures in vanilla Minecraft feel very shallow, uninteresting and useless. I often find myself wanting to play Minecraft again but it just doesn’t feel the same. I do think there’s a little bit of nostalgia that comes with it, though, but I still agree with what you said. I have so many more thoughts about this but it’s hard to put them into words. Anyway… One of the few videos about this topic I watched from beginning til the end. Nice job! :)
Thank ya for the kind words and for watching! Glad you enjoyed it! Hopefully minecraft gets better in due time, and I also hope to catch ya next time :)
I love seeing new of these "Minecraft" videos every week done by low subscription channels! For some reason it just makes the whole experience a hella lot better! Keep it up, and you're +10.000 subs soon, buddy!
I originally loved Redstone when it was first introduced a decade ago, but these days I just stay well away from it. I do wish games that introduce connection/redstone-type mechanics would learn to simplify them for everyone else, instead of just making them super complicated for the electronic nerds.
Oi! Electronics are cool! I kinda agree with you, but simple redstone is still very much a thing, I just think the point of redstone was for electronics and computer nerds.
IMO Mending has two varyingly valid reasons for its existence: 1, as a band aid fix for the scuffed Anvil mechanics, and 2, for multiplayer. It makes things like Elytras and Ancient Debris last indefinitely, so less of it is required to be mined. This means people who start late on a multiplayer server aren't put on a massive disadvantage because all the Debris and Elytras have been looted already for like 20,000 blocks.
I meant for when it comes to hosting multiplayer servers you know between friends@@therealbottomdweller
Yeah that sucked. Axolotl is such a good track. Imagine it playing while you're swimming around! Shame it's highly unlikely to be added to the game.
@@therealbottomdweller axolotl does play in game, though (so at least there's that). it was added all the way back in 1.13 with dragon fish and shuniji, but no new c418 songs have been added since.
wait what happened pleas elaborate
Well, C418 stated it wouldn't be called volume gamma, but still. Such a pity we can't listen to his new Minecraft album. Heartbreaking.
Modern Minecraft feels like a modpack, but it's not the kind of modpack I would like playing.
Damn, thats strangely accurate
@@Nephelangelo I MISSED THAT! Where can I find that information?
Ibxtoycat covers it in a video called Minecraft Won’t Back Down On Copper Bulbs, Insider Reveals Why.
Well put! Also thanks for watching!
my top favorite c418 track is “minecraft” I think its called. It always played when i booted up xbox 360

Servers made by friends totally do that!
Lock that to the End Cities so it’s quite literally an end game upgrade.
mending is harder due to the villager rebalancing system
Nah, keep mending. Get rid of phantoms first.

What do you mean? It’s too easy to get? I thought it was quite hard to get the easiest ways through a villager and even then that’s expensive.
Oh 100%!
it was started as smithing blueprint before they changed it to template because blueprint is modern as a w
Imo having smithing templates is a great feature, at least for armour trims, although I don't have any strong feelings on the netherite upgrade either. Having the ability to customise your armour aesthetically just seems a great idea for being able to express yourself w/ your armour.
The "Netherite upgrade" should have been called a "Netherite Cast" because the diamond equipment is being coated in netherite.
That’s a cool idea. I support. 👍 @@ChrisWillem-vl9nv

Honestly its so good! The dev team nailed it with that mod.
Minecraft lost it's identity and the only way of dealing with it is playing older versions. I don't think it can be MENDED.
Ayyy! *finger guns*

What identity?
( 2/2 )
Overall it seems they are trying to be a lot more careful.

Mods are easily the best part of the community
It's a sandbox. It's not supposed to have deep progression - just enough to make you build a few things. The End was a mistake.

Sniffer was definitely an underwhelming addition. I agree fully!

Really appreciate your take on the music

Great video btw, a lot of valid points that I haven't seen mentioned yet in other videos.
Ay thanks for the kind words and for watching! The community makes insane mods for the game all the time that adherently improve the game, its insane! Shame they aren’t allowed to take in mod ideas anymore.
15:10 i personally love that spng and it always sounds peaceful and energetic at the same time
My problem with minecraft nowadays has nothing to do with the game and more so with the community. although the game for sure has it's problems the current state of the community for me kinda adds to it.
Right now its more of a contest of who can do “100 days” of an obscure challenge more.
oh man don't even get me started on the "100 days" trend lol@@therealbottomdweller
@@therealbottomdweller definitely, some people don't even bother getting netherite, that's how good enchants are. I'll definitely keep watching
I appreciate that this guy has an actual skin with effort put into it instead of just being 1 color everywhere with a stick man face
I thought about how much I didnt like that, so I went through the trouble to make an actual posable Minecraft character and built something for a backdrop. Glad you like it! Thanks for watching!
I’ll never not be blown away when someone says they unironically liked Minecraft parodies
How could you not like classics like Mine Diamonds? They’re such bangers!
That thumbnail got my attention really quick and then i clicked in and enjoyed the video! SUBSCRIBED!
Glad you enjoyed! It was really hard making the art thumbnails work and still give minecraft vibes. Thanks for the sub and hope to catch ya next time!

You can just tell c418 was a genius based on his name, so strange and cool
the whole foundations of minecraft was like legos: simple blocks that dont do that much alone but can be used for infinite possibilities.
Thats a fantastic way to put it! None of it meshes with the rest of the game! Well said!
Poisonous Potatoe!
@@Cottor_OwO It's a cool new, viable metallic block with a gorgeous blue hue when oxidised. And the grates are a super unique texture for a block!
A: update the end with new biomes, ores, structures, mobs and trees, similar to the nether update
B: add a new dimension that you actually need to visit to beat the game. Wouldn’t it be cool if you had to get a sponge from and elder guardian, a nether star from the wither, and the dragon egg from the elder dragon, then go into the portal in the deep dark, traverse many biomes until you find a structure that you put the items into and it spawns a new final boss?
Not bad ideas at all!
ever heard of this thing called “Microsoft”
and “Bedrock Edition”
Please no new ores. The game already has too many.

I 100% agree!
I remember playing Minecraft lite when it came out and mimicking my favorite UA-camrs at the time XerainGaming, they were my introduction to Minecraft and now nearly 20, I still rewatch and play older versions of Minecraft on PC to remember those days.
Is that loss in the bookshelves?
It sure is, buddy!
My personal favorite songs for the game top 5 are :
1: Mice On Venus
2: Sweden
3: Otherside
4: Haggstorm
5: Wet hands
top servers has nothing to do with Minecraft, in fact that way of ranking was never a way to measure how good a server is, quite the opposite in fact. i know it's sad, but to be expected that only the worse of things come on top while the good things sink to the bottom. and good things don't last, just be thankful for the time you had and move on.
It shouldn’t be that way is the issue. Youre right though, good things dont last! I will always remember what the game has done for me. Thanks for watching!
The loss bookshelf
This meme is hunting me😂
It was that or an amogus, and that woulda made the bookshelf too big for the shot! Thanks for watching! Hope to catch ya next time!
What do you think of the Tricky Trials Update as of the day I’m typing this comment?
It doesnt add enough to constitute me returning to the game imo. It adds a new dungeon, a busted weapon with a low drop rate, and essentially rocket jumping pearls. Neat concepts, but yet again it only adds more features that doesnt expand upon existing systems. Redstone got Auto Crafting though, which is nice. Too bad its for redstone players though. Nothing about how the player progresses through the game has really changed.
Minecraft does not have a problem, it’s just not a new game to us, we have played it so much that we know all there is. I still think it’s a 10/10 game.

Best part is servers like mine are not allowed on the official server list but servers like the one your talking about are i literally only sell donation stuff that gives you more homes and spend so much money on my server only because i like this game that much

i feel the old tracks capture a feel of the game, while the new tracks capture the unspoken lore
I think the linear progression peaked in 1.0, but horizontal progression was added a bunch after that. Think the Deep Dark or Ocean Monuments. Sidequests you can do at any time to expand your block pallete.
Better Than Adventure is excellent and the beta community feels much more genuine.
Thats true! Ive had better interactions with the beta community than I have in any modern game community!
the new pale garden is so disappointing. it's literally just an empty biome, with a completely worthless mob. why does the creaking have to be so gimmicky? why can't it just spawn like a normal mob, maybe they could make it more interesting, by making only creakings spawn in the biome, and making them sprint at you and spawn in hordes instead of being a boring weeping angel gimmick with no threat to the player
Honestly I didnt have too much of an issue outside of it being a visually boring biome. I atleast liked the amber blocks and white wood. The creaking definitely couldve been more interesting. At the very least faster so its actually a threat when youre not looking at it.

the april fools updates almost serve as an antithesis then, as they are off the wall unpredictable joke mods officially from Mojang
but actually provide incredible concepts done in vanilla, like the potato dimension and the hover block
But I can also see it as a support tool for building since you wouldn't have to run down a scaffolding to build a new one somewhere else, or put down dirt to reset scaffolding limits and make a bigger mess of items when you're done
like how I play Terraria, I dont really place blocks or platforms to get around because I think they look ugly.
Completely unrelated but i love the characters in the thumbnail little head cubes, its cute
I thought they would be too!
I understand perfectly what you are saying, excellent point of view, It was very melancholic, It almost made me cry at the end.
Maybe it's time to look for players with the same ideals and create a community
Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching! Maybe some day we’ll see that kind of community for minecraft!
imo, it's too easy to survive, and past a certain point, everything gets insanely tedious and repetitive. They better do something quick, because there are rising stars that are going to eat their lunch.
Difficulty could easily be added if they just added some sort of relatively consistent day time threats. Thanks for watching btw! Hope to see you again!
Thriving is a lot more interesting than surviving. You could try building a Froglight farm in the Basalt Delta.
I think this boils down to just experience, what's easy to you could be really difficult to a new player, what's repetitive and tedious to you can be new, interesting and unknown to a new player
All in all it's entirely perspective based
@@SoonSilverIdk, I've been playing off and on since 1.9 and I've always found the learning curve too easy.
The game just wasn’t as compelling with this modern direction. edit id like to add ; i feel as if current minecraft isnt relaxing anymore either . it feels more like a task to build something than it does fun .. for people who like to experiment with creativity , perhaps the new features are wonderful , however , in my opinion , less building options opened up way more possibilities , builds have lost so much originality overtime , everything looks the same ,, whereas in older versions of minecraft , every build had its own vibe , almost as if people had a signature style that wasnt as replicated .
Here's a list of ideas I think could be added:
- villager changes (currently existing)
- bundles (currently existing)
- next update (currently 1.21)
- vertical slabs
- player NPCs
- fireflies
- birch forest
- losing biomes (from biome votes)
- losing mobs (from mob votes)
- a bunch of random ideas thrown in by the devs (or any they accept from the community)
Once one of these experiments get positive feedback, they can shift it into the "next update" toggle, or push into the snapshots phase, if any get negative feedback, based on the feedback, they could either revamp it, or remove it (by based on the feedback i mean if they utterly hate it or that it's underwhelming and could use some changes).
I fully agree with you! Thanks for watching btw! Hope to catch ya next time!

Or don’t wear armor! Up to you!
@@captaindragonyt8439 If armor trims are too lacking for you, then just don't try to get them, it's up to you.
My problem is that updates lack focus and direction.
The best ones often have a central theme, reform game mechanics and introduce interesting concepts. Like Village and Pillage, Aquatic Update, World of Color, Cave update
Nether Update was the best because it had a very clear focus and succeeded in what it tried to do.
My suggestion to Mojang is: make fewer updates less frequently but with higher quality polish. Add only the necessary things, use existing recipes and existing mechanics to make new ite, if possible. Glowstone dust to signs -> text glows, for example
Dont update just because shareholders are and higher ups are like "okay you need to have an update twice a year on schedule"
I also find the lack of structures good.

Anyway…

As of right now, Mojang just released a post regarding the future of Minecraft's development. I want to know your thoughts on it.
Check out the most recent post :)
Did anyone else notice loss in the bookshelves?
Potentially!
