$150 MSRP is really steep ngl. Especially for those outside of the U.S., that turns into $215 CAD. More than twice that of standard first party controllers. I’m not sure what the cost of manufacturing is and how much of a profit margin there is here, but I really can’t justify spending $145CAD plus shipping, let alone $215CAD+ for this.
Right there with you. I’ve tried a few mobile controllers and already felt the typical $99 CAD was too much when I can get an Xbox series controller for around $65 CAD. Spending over $200 CAD on an arguably worse controller (albeit portable and cool) just doesn’t work for me.
@ I’ve considered getting a backbone style before but they’re also too much for what they are yeah. Would be willing to pay the price of one of them for the M-Con, but twice that? No way.
A 65 dollar Xbox controller doesn’t hold your phone, and is not really portable. Here in Europe at least this is a better product for a competing (but slightly higher) price as its competitors.
@@luipaardprint a backbone costs about half of the M-Con’s MSRP and is barely any less portable. A $15 phone clip to add to your existing controller also exists, and while isn’t convenient, utterly destroys it in price. I want M-Con to be the next big thing but it _needs_ to be more affordable.
@@MarioLuigi0404 was about to reply exactly that. A phone clip is easy, especially with 8bitdo. Just bulky. I want an M-con. I think it’s a great product. But even with small production, as a consumer the price just doesn’t make sense
Sorry to hear it tbh, it sucks that you might not get this until it is more main stream. Idk if you have an international friend but maybe you could have someone order it for you? Hope you can work it out!
Since seeing this device I was blown away by the sheer simplicity of it and how genius it looks. Once that kickstarter went live I immediately back this project. Looking forward to getting mine! Keep up the awesome work
Im so excited to see what we can genuinely play on this with how far phones have come, interested to see if I can use it in games that wouldn’t require all of the buttons and how smooth that feels, either way I’m backing ya, that clear color goes crazy 😮💨
Backed in an instant! It's so great to see someone pursue their dream and just go with it. I have so much respect for what you have achieved so far and the journey that you are about to go on. Enjoy it while we enjoy your product! :D
Congrats on going live! You have gone above and beyond with the backers here. I would love to order when more colorways are available, but really glad to see how successful this launch is. You've really earned it!
Backed and can't wait till I get mine.... This is one of those change your life type of things. I want to bring gaming with me everywhere but, big controller addons were are are too big, and touch screens suck for gaming. I want this and NEED this... the sooner the better. August ? Oh my god ! :( Glad to be part of it
A dream come true of a device would be hopping on this instantly if not for Bluetooth. Apple supposedly looking into data transfer capabilities through magsafe if we could figure that out and put in future iterations of the mcon then we'll have the no compromise mobile controller. Glad it's got so much traction right away CONGRATS!
The concept is great and it sure has great potential to be the best portable controller ~~ I have a few questions 1) what is the type of analog stick , are they hall sense ? 2) is the analog trigger ? 3) does it has gyroscope build in ? 4) Does ir connect to the phone through Bluetooth, if yes, what is the BT version 5) what will MCON register as X-input ? DualShock on the phone? 6) are there any programable buttons ?
Not gonna lie I do wish you kept the kickstand feature that was such a cool feature to keep on it for when you play on a bed or couch and stuff. Kinda makes it feel like a mini TV.
Just backed it! So excited! Still 21 Super Early spots left! Curious how it will fit on my Z-Flip 4 phone considering the flipping aspect of the phone. Might have to switch to a slab phone. Still 8 months to delivery tho. Cheers from Norway!
Dude, you've come so far! I've seen your name in reddit for a long time, and remember when you posted this on reddit for the first time too. Confrats man!!🎉
I've wanted to buy it since you first brought the idea in your video. Sadly won't be shipped to India but Congratulations your goal was smashed within minutes as expected 😂 now rest is up to you.
This project is so damn sick, im far from the target audience (i literally never use my phone, its like 5 years old and has battery for 2 hours just listening to music) But im so invested in the design of this that i almost want to buy one lmao
I have my reservations on the pocket-ability, but I honestly think that if you were to pair this with a great phone that could emulate Dreamcast or PS2, this is perfect. Edit: I just noticed that thanks to the height it includes L2 and R2 buttons too... Big plus.
Saw some other people saying the same but I feel like extra QOL features have been added that raise the price a bit that aren’t necessary for everyone, I think a lot of people (including myself) would rather have a version without the flip out handles for example if it made it more affordable, because as much as I am so hyped and so tempted to preorder, even for $100 it isn’t really an “affordable” controller, especially without free shipping
Looks pretty innovative for sure! Cool idea for those that still use their phone for gaming. Maybe down the road there will be a design with passive cooling 😁
I would say that the lack of analog triggers is slightly disappointing, but considering the overall form-factor, I think it will probably take much more work to implement them, which would delay the product further. Maybe a V2 could add pressure-sensitive shoulder buttons and triggers like what the PS2 controller has.
@@fujinshuAlong with possibly a budget version for people looking at the price and going "nope". They've cornered a market so I hope they capitalize on it.
I cannot freakin wait for this. My prayers of seeing another Xperia Play-like controller concept is but a few months (or year) away from becoming a mass-produced reality. I wish I could've backed this project. But unfortunately the country I live in isn't one of the countries availably listed in the Kickstarter page. Here's hoping you guys could partner up with a few 3rd party overseas vendor in the months to come. Even though the money conversion, shipping tax and price mark up is gonna be insane when that comes..

holy shit, you reached the goal less than 5 minutes! congrats!

God Bless you bro, this is insanely awesome and inspiring
Just backed the project, absolute congratulations man, can’t wait for my mcon to arrive in august, glad I was able to hit the super early bird

I saw your first video. Big grats on your successful kickstarter :) Product looks great as well.
This is just so inspiring. All the best.
i was kind of looking forward to this but $149 msrp is overkill for a mobile controller let alone $99 for the preorder
Even buying a ps5 controller with a phone clamp is cheaper and you have something you can also use for console/pc gaming
I... This is perfect. You smashed that goal tenfold... Congratulations. This is revolutionary.
From prototype to completion. Fantastic work man.
Really proud to have backed this. Looking forward to August!
Fully back in
Shit when you said "early January" you meant *early* January
Cant wait to get one, wishing you all the success
Joined kickstarter for the first time and pledged to try and get that exclusive clear color 😍😍😍
just backed up the Kickstarter, can't wait to receive mine. Great work you have done for us mobile gamers.
Been looking forward to this since your first post so long ago. Backed! Goodluck. so excited to hold the finished product!

$25,000 goal. At $430,000 when I backed it 😮 🤩

So hype to get the early bird discount, cant wait to play with it in a couple months
