Its always fascinating to learn how much time these guys have dedicated to master the art of clickbate headlines, fast paced editing and visual effects to capture peoples attention span and exploit our hardwired vulnerabilities. It would be interesting to know do they ever feel guilt or deep concern about addicting so many people into watching literally billions of hours of mindless entertainment just for the small spike of dopamine, instead any true fulfillment or real lasting satisfaction.🤔
Seems like a taboo subject in these interviews - while being the most obvious one. Jimmy clearly seems to be bothered that people only order fast food from his restaurants that will give them brain cancer, heart disease and diabetes on a global scale, instead buying the healthy options that they have. Seems a bit weird thing to celebrate, get excited about and to be proud of in our culture. Being the predator who hooks school children into gambling, mobile games or sugar just for the better ROI.💸
As entertaining and captivating as the videos may be, nowadays internet addiction is a very real problem affecting millions/billions of people everyday. These digital replacement therapies on a screen rob millions people of their real life achievements, good health, meaningful connection, true love and other priceless things in life. Is it wise to exploit kids and teenagers by making this content as addictive as possible, and turn our vulnerable youth into braindead consumers with 4 second attention span, with no social skills, poor sleep, bad health and unable to focus on their school, career and life full of laughter, love and real adventures?🏝

At 1:18:15 Jimmy questions how many of Lex's viewers are interested in this much talk about UA-cam analytics, and I just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoyed watching even though I don't care about UA-cam analytics. I just enjoy watching passionate people talking about the things they're passionate about. There is a lot to learn by watching others who have dedicated their life to something specific, and just the general way they perceive the world and treat their experiences. You share a lot of insight that applies far outside of UA-cam, so even though that is the specific topic of this conversation, everyone can take away something that will benefit them in their own unique situations.
Exactly
Listening to passionate people also gives you a different view from what you are used to. And it is usually rather inspiring to hear them discuss their chain of thoughts.
Agreed, i don't care about you analytics in the slightest but listening to experts talk about things i don't care about or know anything about is exactly why i watch Lex's videos.
I could listen to Jimmy talk about this for hours. The more he talks the more inspired I get about the subject even though I don't care at the beginning.
It's inspiring
Hey Lex
I’m one of your “typical”viewers. I’m a 42 year old male. I don’t think I’m alone in saying, that I love your content, because of your thoughtful, humble, loving approach to podcasting. I loved every second of this interview. Lex, imo you asked the most insightful and interesting questions of anybody who's interviewed MrBeast
my favorite part of these podcasts is that they're so interesting once you zoom in on them and really listen to what lex and mr beast are saying, but there are points in the convo where its like "alright, ima just head out, we're about to move to another point now" where you don't feel like you're really missing anything if you were to stop watching right there and then
yeah i can see that
I do not work in analytics and don’t seek out info on analytics but I could listen to them talk about the “whys” for 10 hours. It’s not just an analytics convo but a convo of thought process. Incredible interview, Lex!
lex barely did anything you could sit a dog on his side and they would still have the same conversation
Same here. I also am fascinated with the average mind. (I am on the spectrum) so I watched this video hoping to better understand what "normal" people like to watch, and maybe gain insight into the why they like it.
I have never watched Mr Beast before although I had heard the name. Now of course, I am going to have to watch a few to see what the fuss is about. Just on the surface, his thumbnails would not entice me in. His subjects do not grab me, but, that isn't a surprise given that I am not his target audience.
Lex does know his audience well. Many of us are just curious people interested in............anything interesting.

I don't know about the "typical Lex viewer", but for me a 2 hours lecture on UA-cam analytics by MrBeast, the most qualified person on Earth on the topic of UA-cam analytics, is exactly the kind of content I expect from "Lex Fridman podcast with MrBeast" and it's f*cking awesome!

Lex does know his audience. He knows we just want to learn. We are interested in anything and everything. Including 2 hours of youtube analytics.
I’m glad that Jimmy is the epitome of UA-cam success.
He’s the type you want at the head of content creators because he just wants the best end product.
He’s not a money grubbing studio exec making business decisions over artistic ones.
Not to say the man doesn’t have business savvy, but just that he’s a real human just trying to make the best video content while also being hugely philanthropic along the way.
Makes it easy to root for the guy even though I’ve seen like two of his videos.
I call bullshit. Wait for it unless he becomes the next bill gates. Everyone can be a "KICK ARSE ENTREPRENEUR" FU×K OFF. He needs counselling or just have good family around him to be grounded.
this often goes for pioneers.... one a "formula" is there, these moneygrabbers come... though YT/content space is pretty cutthroat anyway with all skills given, trained, like high level athlete, so not many can survive long without truly loving it

Hi Lex, I discovered your podcast in April and have been watching every day. Love your videos! You do a great job. The women scientists are some of my favorite guests.
I’m over 70, love the history, science and AI videos. When things get too technical I’m lost so I appreciate the time stamps. I’ve watched topics that I never thought I would be interested in. About the only videos I probably won’t watch are the martial arts and wrestling. Unless I get really desperate. Thats how I clicked on Mr Beast. I had never heard of him. Amazing that he’s only 24.
I think they could've gone more in-depth on the analytics stuff. It might have caused some people to lose interest, but the point of this channel for me has always been to explore the depths of a particular person's expertise, because that's what makes the person special.
A huge chunk of the in-depth analytics stuff were already discussed by Mr Beast outside of this channel.

MrBeast is an industry implant. Dont fall for this piece of trash. He was born into this. He is part of the agenda. He is made to make you believe stuff like squid game was a good thing and throwing money around like „do what thou wilt“ by aleister crowley. How can people not see this. You live in a beast system what more do i need to say…
I like Lex. Except if I watch ten videos in a row, it’s gets formulaic and annoying. Everyone though. I just don’t know if watching a guy making tons of money and saying things, actually makes them as authentic as you think. Maybe Not. [not saying Lex is fake or anything, but these guys get idealized, & are generally getting rich as f_ck off making you think they’re something they’re not] mr. Beast isn’t even THAT annoying personally, but the whole thing, it seems bad for the species. I’m waiting to pick up someone so I’m bored. And my channel is better lol.
He is a Russian spy.
@@alxsee1337not as formulaic as mr beasts content
I know eh? Lex is a real sound guy. It's a shame this guess isn't...
love how he doesn't see his channel as just by himself but it's a company with people that are working with him. That's how you know he cares a lot about the people that work with him
Always LISTENING TO Mr Beast is inspiring.
Yea - I love the analytics and exploration. Lex is 100%. I listen because I'm curious about a broad range of topics. Love the deep dive in areas I know nothing about.
This podcast is so interesting to listen to. Lex, you are an amazing interviewer. I myself like to engage people in deep conversations, since it's only then that I can see their personality. Also, this allows me to better understand myself. I hope it does the same for you - I could not wish for a better person to do this! Much love from Europe!
It’s strange how I started watching mr beast because of lex 😂😂
So this interviewer Lex is the literal GOAT. Bro gets 1 hour of sleep, tags along with the top UA-cam creator of all time for an entire day after screwing up his flights. Puts in 2:12:29 of time with Mr. Beast and asks the most epic question I've heard on a podcast: "What role, Jimmy does love play in the human condition?" which caused Jimmy to smile and take a minute to answer. Love this in-depth podcast and will be watching all 350 others next.
🥁😎🥁
I’m not a youtuber, not interested in analytics but I could listen to you two talking about it for hours. I just like listening to passionate, intelligent people.
I'm a college freshman who's into Lex's podcasts, programming and AI but also love watching Mr Beast videos. I think many of the younger Lex viewers are extremely excited for this collaboration.
same! it’s also really interesting to watch as someone who wants to get into making videos
@@darkacademiavanessa i saw ur profile and u say you like chess. wanna play? i'm pretty bad (if u consider 1400 bad)
As a young Lex viewer and Mrbeast enjoyer, this is true
Now that he says it all makes sense! 😮😮
I've always wondered why Jimmy always looked out of focus when I watch his videos like he's camera shy BUT BRO's IN DA ZONEEE
1:18:01 - ' I loved the Magnus one, and the Hikaru one' = Genius! :')
Mom demographic here…. representing a demographic who watches you both regularly. A mom making dinner, trying to raise two smart and imaginative boys, encompassed by a cool husband.. all these boys have a UA-cam obsession. I like to think of myself as the outside UA-cam and podcast garbage detector.
Maybe there are moments I roll my eyes….
But mostly I feel and appreciate a person who loves to learn, challenge, innovate, seek truth, find mastery, and ultimately make people want to be better people.
I shut down mindless cruelty.
But gotta throw some shade- mama still shouts out ‘Mark Rober’ and ‘Smarter Everyday’. Boooom! Ouuuuchhh! Chuckling
But for reals- Thanks, both of you. 🙌🏼👊🏼✌🏼.
reading this i am realy looking forward, to a new generation of parents, beeing so open. Thank you!
Mr Beast is a master at his craft. I’ve never been a regular viewer of his (mainly bc I’m never recommended that type of content). But the weird thing is every single time I’ve clicked on one of his videos, I’ve literally watched every single second of it even though its not really the kind of videos I like to watch. He’s an absolute genius when it comes to viewer retention
Lol yea because he built up a empire and showed them how to do the shit he doesn’t want to?
@@myachillesheeltell us you’re broke, without telling us…
He'll be super-rich his entire life, but every pore of him screams that he doesn't care except that it allows him to create content. He's a totally unbalanced person, and we love him for it. He's not curing cancer, but he does help brighten up the lives of so many.
Compare his attitude to say... Logan Paul, who gives off... different vibes?
It's weird they talking about what's after death. I hope they find Islam the one and only true religion. 😭
this is guy is a genius in every way besides being hard worker
Wrong. This guy is an obsessive worker.
I watch Mr Beast and your channel and I think out of all the creators that I watch, Mr. Beast's channel is the only one that I don't skip through when they start talking about their brand deal.
He's 24... my goodness. Epic advice from mr. beast! 2 of the nicest and most interesting people on UA-cam! Just love both these guys!
Mr beast isn’t so nice from what I heard ex employees claim
Well, he is running a business… where smart decisions are frequently “not nice”. So far, I’ve not seen 1 second of video to support the fact that he’s not really nice, though it wouldn’t surprise me either.
by far the most Educational, interesting, valuable, and entertaining podcasts in all platforms are yours and its because of your amazing personality 👍👍👍👍
gotta say, I love it. At the 1:18:00 point with Jimmy questioning the interest the crowd might have, I love what others are saying, passionate people talking about what they’re passionate about. I’m also an engineer/business owner, so just the way people think, why they make choices, how to stand out, all of that is super interesting.
it's crazy how Lex has expanded his range of personalities that he will have on his podcast.
Hope he'll invite Tate soon, would be interesting to see.
@@bramvandinteren Looks like Tate is going to be in a Romanian Prison for a long time for Sex Trafficking.
@@bramvandinteren Gotta get him out of the Romanian jail first, but would definitely watch that
@@bramvandinteren I don't know, personally that "gotta get the most controversial person" mentality is self destructive. Sure, it gets clicks, but it's the most basic "what's he going to say next" drama farm type clicks.
I've never watched Beast, but Lex is very similar to him actually. Both fundamentally care more about their content than, AFAI can tell, anything else in their lives.
It feels like yesterday when I was watching this kid cook a small microwave oven in a bigger microwave oven and now he’s a business mogul. I’m so proud of what he’s accomplished.
why are you watching kids cooking microwaves inside of other microwaves?
@@MasterYoda389 Why not?
@@bhuuthesecond ??? you for real?
Because it's stupid.
Because it serves no purpose
Because you're romanticizing something that is truly cringe.
@@MasterYoda389 When I want to watch informative, educational and intellectually stimulating content I know which channels can provide that for me. And when I want to unwind completely I love watching Mr. Beast and his friends. What’s wrong with enjoying something fun and very silly?
@@bhuuthesecond nothing, but you did ask why not D:
I feel you lex with the airport fiasco-shit happens to the best of us.
Lex has a genuine sense of curiousity and wonder about this world including but not limited to the many different characters and personalities of this world. He communicates with such an open heart and mind that even when the folks being interviewed are aware of his style, they seemingly are still caught off guard by the sheer ease with which his honesty flows in conversation, and how rarely the one being interviewed gets to see that is telling....
Lex is the beez kneez, Lex the goods, Lex an og kush real one, Lex the quality primo, definitely one of the top reasons i can listen or watch his shows straight through. Lex like a Joe Pesci, Lex doesn't eff around. Lex reminds me of a highly intelligent son of a bigsky in the russian mafiya, who rightly saw his sons talents were best suited for other outlets. hell maybe he doubles these interviews as an investment banker for the company hedge fund.
Mr.Beast seems like hes actually an alright dude in real life, the online persona and the legions of follower lemmings always gave me weird vibes but then again that kind of stuff is gonna be somewhat sus everytime.
can someone find the video/deepfake scene of Mr. Beast as the soul collector in the movie ghost ship(2002)? the fish hook was the youtube subscriber symbol. effn freakd me and me friends out nice and proper too real too scary yeah? heres the scene post back if u find the deepfake or knows what im talking bouts. cheers

It's so refreshing hearing Mr.Beast talking in a more serious tone all thanks to the great questions formulated by Lex :)
Did he yell at Lex and throw around sponsor money?
MrBeast is like an entire TV writers room/editors studio in one person
Even tho he relies on a crew of people to make his videos?
@@JuicyJam yes, those people are the videographers, lighting technicians, etc.
@@MyMostBeautifuCinema so Mr beast isn't reeaaally like the entire tv writers room/directors studio...if he literally has a crew doing that 😅
@@JuicyJam touché
@@JuicyJam Just because he isn’t the one doing those things doesn’t mean he doesn’t know how to do them. He’s still very knowledgeable in pretty much every aspect of content creation. His mind can be like a tv writers room/directors studio in one even if he isn’t necessarily the one in the room/studio. Now that he has 100M+ subs, obviously he’s going to have a team behind him. I’m sure at one point or another he was the guy in the studio.
This is the second time this interview auto play for me in 3 weeks. The first time I had no idea who MrBeast was. After 3 weeks, I watched around 20+ of his videos. I really love his channel. PS: Jimmy looks like my friend Dan. lol
I was hoping someone will bring up the fact that he does use these sort of game shows formats, which happen to be very very very entertaining for humans.
I dont even watch his content but listened to this interview in full and the JRE one. Mr beast is such an endearing guy and an awesome human. this conversation was a blast. like others described, the dynamic between you guys is incredible. and lex, you know your audience very well :)
I don't think i'll ever watch a Mr Beast video, but i could listen to his interviews for hours
Same I’m 29 but he’s videos are highly entertaining I enjoy watching them on my lunch break I highly recommend them
Same. Pretty sure my daughter watches that page
I hate his videos, but I can appreciate the magnitude of genius behind his work.
I'm with you. I love what he does but not drawn to his content style as much as the masses. I could listen to him real talk for hours though, well said.
I feel that! Love Jimmy, but MrBeast is just not for me.
Paused at 26:00 exactly. Frozen until told otherwise.
1:18:53 the answers mr beast is giving to lex his questions are very valuable for people who want to start youtube! If you want to start its best you watch this instead of taking any course!
You engage your guest and bring out great conversation. After a long day at work it is nice to hear people just chatting and being real.
