Thank you for your reply, I’m looking forward to it. I enjoy your videos specially the history of your other cars, gt, v6 and 98 cobra. It’s awesome that little by little you are building a collection of these cars. Thank you
Thanks for the how to Danny! Just put H&R springs on the new( to me at least) Cobra! I did however fill the swear before I finished!! lol Note: I added some marine grease to the springs and spring sockets as I removed all the isolators.. might help with any noises I might get from the metal on metal contact. 🤷🏼♂️
Maybe a dumb question, but if i bought my 03 Cobra with a SRA swap, would 03-04 IRA springs still apply or would I need to buy some for a GT? Or does it not matter? Sorry, just a bit confused and need some help
Jose Juarez You’ll need GT/ ‘Mach 1 rear springs for the SRA. One thing to consider is the terminator has a heavier front end, so the aftermarket springs may also be different for the front (you might not want to buy a GT kit. You might want to contact eibach on that one to see if they use the same front springs for the terminator as mach 1/GT just to be safe.
Hey dan for the Convertible models new edges what lowering spring would you recommend with out being too low ? Trying to get the 4×4 stance on my 99 gt haha
Thanks for the video Danny! I'll be using it when I lower my 03 mach 1. Question, I'm wanting to lower it with some eiback lowering springs and I've heard the stock struts won't hold up to the new springs but some people just replace the struts when they go back later. What do you recommend? I'd like to not spend the extra money on struts but I also like to do things right regarding my car. Thanks!
DimsdaleDebate The mach 1 has good tokico struts. They should be fine unless you have a lot of miles. It’s a good opportunity to swap them out while it’s apart. I’ll post a link to my video on struts as well if you’re interested
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage wow! Thanks for the quick reply! It's only got 43K miles on it so I think I might be fine and I don't plan on driving it except on the weekends. Thanks for the insight!
Hey Danny. Any suggestions on what springs for a 97 convertible. I don’t want to lower it enough to use caster camber plates. I will be using the sr performance adjustable shocks and struts. I think my stock springs are tired. I was looking at eibach prokit or the Ford b or c springs. Any other progressive springs that you have used that would be good?. It’s a daily driver and I do not want a harsh ride.
Probably the eibach. It’s hard to say since any lowering springs will be a more harsh ride. You can also look into a cam bolt kit they sell that simply replaces the bolt that connects to the strut and allows you to lightly align it- though I hear people say it doesn’t always work well.
I got a question about my 03 cobra outside of the lowering spring install. My supercharger doesn’t whine as loud as it used to I don’t even hear it at all I’ve tried to find the problem but no luck
This car suffered horribly from wheel hop with the other springs. These eibachs are much better. In general, lowering springs will be worse for a 1/4 strip car, so with more wheel hope likely, I’d upgrade to some g force half shafts or a solid rear axle so you don’t snap a half shaft.
I am doing h & r springs and man I'm using the stock isolators and the bottom will not go in...is this normal? Maybe I need to use a compression tool for the spring?
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage sorry I should of been specific. I'm having trouble with the front springs. Going in through the top then trying to fish the bottom of the spring but using stock ISO it just doesnt want to go in ..I followed your video to T and that sucker wont budge.
excellent how to video.. nice car.. my only criticism for the owner is that he or she should paint the caliper bracket itself black like OEM 10th anniversary cobra calipers.. the all red look just doesnt work well.
Yes, it was done before he had the car. I’ve been pointing out what’s factory and what’s not lol. He’s a good guy and we’ve already become great friends
You made this sooooo much easier than the other tutorials! Thank you!😊

Thanks! More to come 😉
As usual, another goodie Dan! I bet that Cobra rode a lot better with those bogus springs gone!
tominator sure did!
Very detailed ! Only UA-camr this detailed ! New sub here ! Team mustang!
Thank you and welcome. Here is my playlist for Mustang repairs ua-cam.com/play/PLIjr-uSYDZi7hBrphoRniyYjb707PpPTu.html

Danny Johnson appreciate the response, thank you!

Keep the isolators, then eibach pro or H&R will both be good. They tell you how much of a drop for each
Super helpful video bro, you just got yourself a subscriber 👍🏻
Philip Alfaro Glad you found it- welcome aboard.

DimsdaleDebate That’s the same as my terminator. 43k miles, weekend driver 😉
Always great content 👌
Thank you for the how to video, but can you also show how to lower the rear of the cobra with the IRS it will help alot.
Thanks.
Yes- I’m doing the rear on the IRS today, so the video should be up tonight if all goes well. I’ll also make a sra video too.
Are you running 18 inch wheels? I want to lower my Mach 1 but I'm worried about rubbing.
Have you used any sort of bump steer kits on your cars. If so what has your experience with it been like?

How the hell did you get the isolator on so easy? I’m freaking struggling right now
I got a question about my 03 cobra outside of the lowering spring install. My supercharger doesn’t whine as loud as it used to I don’t even hear it at all I’ve tried to find the problem but no luck
Does it still make the same amount of boost?
so i want to make my car dedicated for the 1/4 mile, with lowering springs would that cause wheel hop? What set up would you recommend?

Have you lowered the irs at all with the bolts as shown in the video? They should go right in

Hey Danny, have you ever done a garage tour video? If not I like to see it!
I have. It’s here, but I also added more cabinets. I’ll also include that link ua-cam.com/video/XRG3QmOu4F8/v-deo.html

What springs did you have before you changed them?
They were the wrong ones intended for a fox body on the mineral gray cobra
Nice clear video!
So you took Vogtland out and put eibech instead??
They were the wrong springs intended for a lighter fox body
The lug nuts are actually 21mm aren't they? I don't think there's one thing on a car anymore that's not in millimeters. 🙂
I know my 5 lug fox lugs are
These are probably aftermarket with his fr500 wheels
Can you do a video on how to properly pull into a driveway with a lowered car?
So much Bad Ass Cars in one thumb nail lol.
Thanks!

I need an impact wrench it would make things so much easier while filming 😭 great video.
Thanks!
He sent it at the end of the video,no fucks given, lol
😂😂😂
A before and after would be nice, or just an after so I can see about how my car would sit. Good video otherwise.
Unfortunately, the car was already lowered
heads up, at 0:04 you may want to remove "Title text here"
ha ha! Good catch. I totally see that now
