The American Raj in Europe is ending. When Attlee and Mountbatten relinquished British rule in India, the Indians were delighted. When Trump & Vance do the same thing with Europe, the Europeans are appalled. Very strange.
"The Europeans" in this case are a Janissary class who have been educated, indoctrinated and employed within a US funded network of NGOs, thinktanks, media and academia to serve the US - not just literally, but also emotionally and instinctively. Brian Berletic at the New Atlas has numerous videos describing how US funded NGOs identify people, sweep them into a US dominated network and indoctrinate them to serve US interests over the interests of their own countries - usually under the cover of being human rights or democracy activists. He focuses on how this is done in Asia, but the US has done this ever since WW2 in Europe. Its an old trick - the Romans seduced the young nobility of the tribes they conquered, and the Ottomans literally kidnapped and indoctrinated the strongest and smartest children of their subjects.
These people stand to lose everything if the US funded network of political and think tank posts comes to an end. Rather than serving as a cog in a globe spanning empire, they might have to resign themselves to merely being the PM of a minor eastern European country people cant find on the map.

While I understand the optimism regarding JD Vance being the vice presidential nominee due to his stance on the Ukraine war, I think it’s important to also note that he appears to be a hawk in regards to Iran. He said yesterday that they need to hit Iran harder, and that Trump taking out Soleimani was a brilliant move that made the region more peaceful. This type of thinking and rhetoric is as much of a concern to global stability as the pro Ukraine stance taken by the Ukraine Hawks, as a hard stance against Iran is still a hostile stance against Russia, as those two states are now aligned strategically. While yes the move to bring the Ukraine war to a stop is absolutely positive and much needed, I fear however that the aggression directed towards Russia from the current administration will be redirected by the Trump administration towards Iran and China, rather than completely dissipate which is what is required for a smooth transition to the new global security framework that is inevitably ahead.

@@JohnJohnson-n3n I think Alex is under the assumption that the Ukraine war is the catalyst for all other major geopolitical events around the world, as Brics v NATO is essentially a struggle between the two power centres of the world. He is also European so it makes sense that his perspective would be one that focuses on the European theatre. I personally believe Alex does not place enough emphasis on the events in the Middle East and how that has the potential to be the spark plug that ignites the next stage of the geopolitical restructuring, but in saying that I could easily be wrong with my assumption there, and in fact the Middle East has rather been over emphasised because of the media and general traction the conflict in Gaza has received all across the world because of the humanitarian crises. All in all I think Alex’s analysis is the best there currently is on the internet, understanding full well the gravitas of that statement. As long as you understand that he naturally has a euro-centric focus, I don’t think you will find a more rational, well balanced and intelligent breakdown of world events as to what you get from this channel and the Duran more widely. I appreciate your response though, this community brings me great joy in knowing there are so many like minded people out there who are curious in understanding world events in a rational and intellectual manner, the world has never needed it more.

JD Vance wrote a book, "Hillibelly Elegy" (his memoir) in 2016, adapted to a very good movie of same name starred by Glenn Close, quite moving, which provides a good insight into his ideas, convictions and view of the world...
