Doctor Who: The George Brind Fan Series | Story 7: The Coming Darkness - Special Edition

In the seventh of the Special Editions to “Doctor Who: The George Brind Fan Series” (2013-2023) based on the well-known BBC sci-fi TV series “Doctor Who” (1963-), here is the seventh story “The Coming Darkness” which also served as the second episode of Series 2 when it was first released on UA-cam on 15 July 2017. All stories in the fan series take place in creator of the series George Brind’s own unique “Doctor Who” reality and/or universe, and a strikingly different reality to the officially established one at that, in terms of writing new stories and ideas around what had been established on-screen in the official series up to November 2013.
Major Charles Hoffman of the UNified Intelligence Taskforce (U.N.I.T.), the Doctor’s new ally, has been murdered by his secretly corrupt superior officer Field Marshal Jeremy Greaves for snooping down the old record centre. Finding out about Hoffman’s untimely death on the news, the Doctor (George Brind) is naturally grieved and enraged and seems to have lost his only hope in taking down the Other. After getting hold of Greaves’ current case file and looking up the UNIT Archive Interface, the Doctor sets out to investigate the disappearance of a young woman, archaeologist Elisha Hart (Lydia Woodall). Though he does find Elisha at her house, the Doctor immediately has to find her again when it becomes clear she is possessed by an evil being, and uses a psychic blast to knock him out, disassociating remnants of the personalities of his previous 12 incarnations, who return periodically as his psych is damaged. Despite his difficulties, the Doctor is determined to find and rescue Elisha, and when he investigates her latest excavation, Dorchmeet’s old abandoned twin-town Tiddleford, it isn’t long before he discovers the being possessing Elisha might be in fact an old enemy he faced before; an all-powerful and destructive being with a Jackal head… Where that being treads he leaves nothing but dust and darkness, and he finds that good…
