Lenovo laptops are such great bang for the buck this year, although I wish they had USB4/Thunderbolt ports on their midrange models. Seems that feature is exclusive to higher end laptops for Lenovo.

Coming from a Razer Blade 15, I took a chance on an Eluktronics MECH-17 GP2 with the LPP. It has excelled in every aspect I thought the Blade was lacking for my use at a much more affordable price.

My favorite laptop this yeas is the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 with AMD processor: Pretty balanced specs, great screen and good price. The Framework 13 AMd is also a great choice if you need more portability than power.... I'd keep an eye on the Framework 16 next year.

@Matthew I think you should fix that mistake on the 14 inch category. Everyone keeps asking you about the Legion Slim 5 14" Oled because you just put the 16 inch version in that category and the other is actually $1150 not $950. You should check your video before commenting on other's asking for the 14 inch version.

      Hey MatthewMoniz,
For how long will the M1 Macbook have the support?
Is it worth to buy and expect 5-6 years of support?
Also what do you think of the Galaxybook 360/ pro 360?
I like saving my notes on something digital now. But thought the Macbook with a pen tablet might/should to the work. Obviously it is not cool as the Tab s9 ultra wit it is features, which i also wanted to buy, but i think long term the money is better invested in a laptop.

Good note, anyone looking to buy and is okay with purchasing a used laptop. Open boxed stuff is the way to go. I bought my Lenovo legion slim 7I for about $600-700. Usually retails for more than $1,200.

    • @SeemsLogical
      @SeemsLogical 5 місяців тому

Buying open box is a roll of the dice. I bought an ASUS laptop that way and it was nothing but problems for the 3 weeks I owned it.
Wifi card updated and refused to connect me to the internet unless I plugged in. Screen flickering would happen randomly. And most importantly, it overheated after 45 minutes of gaming. The power brick was hot enough to scorch my floor. My house could have been burned down if I kept the thing.
So there could be a very good reason why the original buyer returned the product and you may find the same issues they did. Or it could just be that they decided to buy sonething else instead. You are rolling the dice with open box.

As for budget, I'm personally a big fan of refurbished products. The do get reduced warranty (1 year or so) but the product itself is basically new most of the times. Here in Spain laptops are priced way too high and you get to appreciate these refurbished products. Got an ASUS TUF A15 packed with a 4060, R7 7735HS, 16GB@4800MHz and 1TB for around 900€, really happy overall. Amazing vid also btw!

That isn't enough information to give recommendations you should give the specific programs, this is too generalized. You should probably just use his mac recommendation since you already work in that environment so there's really no reason not to continue doing so if it works for you given the benefits you'll gain....so, yeah just do that...this is probably the easiest laptop recommendation, overthinking this stuff when you have something that works and can just get a better version....well, just get the better version cause overthinking it won't payoff.

G14 is an engineering marvel. It's such a wonderful laptop. Have you been using it for 6 months. It can deal with it anything that I have thrown at it from productivity to running code to Blender and games. It has been pitchh perfect. On top of it, it has great battery life and portability, which is amazing given how powerful the machine is.
I was going to buy MBP M2, but I am so happy that I went with G14.

@@MatthewMoniz Why? The IPS displays are horrible looking. ROG probably has the best looking IPS displays and they still are meh. The speakers are a comedy sketch. The trackpad is....I don't understand how this is acceptable for any trackpad..u cant even use it with the keyboard it freezes up periodically(a problem with lenovo laptops for a decade if not more). The keyboard is nice....the arrow keys awkward though for coding/typing/writing idk if u can get used to it personally mbe u can(good for keyboard gaming tho.....but few games use it and fewer 'need' to use it). Couple it with cooling issues and disgusting velcrove strap it ships with and the fact u can't even place it on your lap. It's only for people who move between desk setups...it's a tower u can put in a bag.

I don’t know how you can recommend the Lenovo Legion 9i with the Advanced Optimus issue where the screen will lose half its brightness when you turn Optimus off with the Mini LED screen and also the Acer Predator Triton 17x is way better than the Lenovo legion 9i paying over 4.5k for a laptop with a screen issue and not even a high refresh rate screen for that price and gen 1 low speeds with usb-a ports also just average/low sd card reader speeds and the screen is only 16’.

Also I don’t know how you can recommend the Zephryus M16 when in that very thin chassis even with a third fan its thermals aren’t good and loses out on so much of its performance potential.

9:28 Don't forget, everyone, that Acer has continued to do business with Russia after being the last laptop manufacturer to say they wouldn't: www.reuters.com/technology/taiwans-acer-ships-computer-hardware-russia-after-saying-it-would-suspend-2023-06-08/
A source familiar with details of the shipments, who declined to be named due to the sensitivity of the issue, said Acer's products, including PC monitors and laptops, continued to be shipped to Russia after April 2022.
The company told Reuters it was possible that importers in Russia sourced Acer devices from third countries.
Acer's Russian unit, in response to emailed questions, said "nothing has changed" since the April 2022 statement.
An officer of the subsidiary did not respond to requests for comment sent via WhatsApp.
Switzerland's State Secretariat for Economic Affairs told Reuters that it does not comment on individual cases or specific companies.
Russia's Ministry of Industry and Trade did not respond to a request for comment.
