This is awesome but I am still using my original Jackery 300 and still LOVE IT. It is small but so handy to carry around camp. Thanks for the awesome reviews!
I bought the Jackery 300 plus with the 40 watt solar panel last year, sent back the 300 plus and kept the 40 watt IP68 solar panel to use with my other Jackery legacy 240, and the newer Jackery 100 plus. You can't buy the 40 watt panel by itself, which stinks. Yeah, the 40 watt is not much, but it fits in a backpack along with the 240 or 100 plus, or both. It charged my 100 plus from 63% to 100% in 90 minutes. Moving on, Luv that you can leave the 40 watt panel in a downpour, storm, or dunk it under water (not that I would), but that shows how water resistant it is if you leave it at a campsite the whole day with a few flash thunderstorm washes. Wish the Jackery 100 watt solar panel was IP68 as I would deal with the extra size in exchange for more than twice the power. Thanks for the super duper comprehensive review!
Interesting. The one I was sent for review here in Australia is only 15w out of the usb c port. The other is the bidirectional 100w port. I would have expected them to be identical aside from the ac side.
Is this jackery compatible with a dokia portable solar panel? What if... Having 2 , one could be charging while the other is in use? I have a westway car fridge that I'm looking to use.
If you're considering paying for a battery to keep in your car in case of emergencies, you might as well get one that can jump start your car battery too. USB output and some sort of light are almost always features. I have one that costs $80 and even came with a tire pump. I actually used the pump yesterday to top off my tires, best $80 ever.
USB only charging means it's a NOPE for me. I"ll stick to the other 300 model with dual charging. Wished they just updated that with the battery chem and higher wattage usb ports.
USB C is the only DC charging option, you can still use the AC cord, but I still agree That’s a total deal breaker and very underwhelming. The offerings from Ecoflow and Blueetti in this category are much better value and have proper solar charge ports built in
So they include an 8020 to USB-C adapter? Every Jackery panel I have and I have quite a few has a 7909 plug on the end of the cord and includes an 8020 adapter for the bigger Jackerys so why an 8020 to USB-C? why not a 7909 to USC Seems to me to charge this thing you'll have two adapters on the end of the cord before you even get to the Jackery and that's a lot of weight on a little USB-C plug.
Bought it, used it, second time i tried to charge with the included solar panel it stopped working... lol charging from wall outlet works but ill have to get a new panel or my USB c port for charging stopped working.
Maybe I missed it, but how long does the 300 plus keep a charge after a full charge when not in use. It seems most of the little power banks can't hold a charge for longer than a few days.
I want to run my desktop Computer on a solar generator 24/7 with Solar & A/C plugged in at the same time. I want it to run on solar power but have the A/C power kick in if the battery gets too low. Can this unit (or any unit) do this??
USB-C ports now say: the dual PD USB-C ports (1*100W input&output and 1*15W output) enable quick charging for your multiple devices simultaneously. So one at 15W and one in/out at 100W. 7/1/24.
I actually couldn't find about the IP rating on the solar panel. Is it really Ip68 like you said?!?!?! If yes I actually want to get 2 of the solar panel, hopefully someone would sell it separately... :(
I used my Jackery 160 maybe 3 times over a 3 or 4 year period and it died. No power, no display, I tried hard reset and nothing . Past warranty and Jackery says too bad, now I have a worthless paper weight. No more Jackery for me, just purchased Vtoman 600, hopefully I’ll have better luck.
On the fence between the explorer 300 plus and bluetti eb3a. What do you recommend? I’ve seen that bluetti has horrible customer service and people are running into issues with
The Jackery site says the USB-C out port does 15W, can anyone confirm if this is a typo or if indeed both can do 100W? Edit: the unit I have sys 15W for the left and 100W for the right
Looking to power my sound system. I only need about 200w to power it but I want it to be clean sound. Any suggestions for a power station that will output clean sound through my speakers? Thanks for all you do! Very informative!
Great Video as always. I really just want to 40w solar panel, but I'm only seeing it as a bundle on Amazon, and it's $129 by itself at Target. I'll probably just keep the bundle in my cart and wait for a good sale. Those plugs/adapter are kind of annoying if you want to use your car dc to charge it.
Its been a while since we've seen something really interesting in this space. Wonder when we will start seeing solid state batteries or whatever they call that new chemistry.
Thank you Professor! I would be very interested in your thoughts on the new Litheli Eclair 1000. I just received mine as an Indiegogo campaign backer and it is pretty cool and innovative as it serves as a dual charger for their lithium power packs. It also pairs well with the new Litheli power wagon that was also recently released and the other Litheli Power tools currently on the market. As a current owner of an Ecoflow Delta II (based on your recommendation) I can see the Eclair 1000 now being my primary on location power source as a photographer. Please keep these very informative and great videos coming!!!
My 300 plus has 1x 100w usb-c and the other usb-c is 15W max output. It doesnt show anything about pulling 200W from both usb-c ports. Even the writinv on the front of mine is different. Mine also only states a 3 year warranty.
You strictly do these power boxes? I only ask because I'm in the market for a new place in Cochise County and I expect to be doing some boondocking. I've been eyeballing these Electric heater Shower systems
Hi. I just got this and the box, unit, and app indicate this is Li-ion instead of LFP. Am I misunderstanding something or is this false advertisement? Everything on amazon said it was LiFeP04
I really dislike when companies mess with USB-C. It's bound to cause issues with some devices if it randomly decides to pull more amperage than a USB PDO allows. Could have easily stuck a separate DC input into the thing and avoided the adapter mess. Those little foldable solar panels tend to be horribly inefficient and put out even less when they heat up. They all kind of look the same, which makes me think one ODM is producing them all.
I didn't really watch the 300 video fully... I don't have any interest in Inverters that small. However, I did visit the beginning of the video, and click the like button. Not sure about the "trailer"... I might have missed it.
I looked at my 300 plus and noticed the same thing. That is the only thing I did not look at closely when I got it. If you look at the pics on their website they show the 300 plus both ways but jackery does not point that out.
Is there really such a thing as UPS. You plug in, say, your computer. It is running off the inverter. Input AC power keeps the battery charged. If input power goes away, there is no magical switch over. Computer continues to be powered from the inverter in the power station. Computer will continue to operate until the battery runs down or AC input power is restored. Am I missing something here?
Well it's not magical but that's the whole point of UPS. If input power goes away, without this device in between, the computer would just have its power cut, which might damage the computer. With jackery explorer (or any ups), you have time to safely shutdown (windows->shutdown or similar) the computer before the UPS battery has run out.
Great review as Always..! , I'll stick with my Jackery Explorer 300 I bought about 3yrs ago..I'm totally happy with it,..I charge it with the Bluetti 120w portable solar panel, as I didn't like Jackerys panels,..I'm not too impressed with this new 300 model....oh..and I thank Odin for reminding me to clean my cats litter box.!.. lol. ✌️
It tells you that this is not a product made for Ham Radio. Too bad, I've spoken to these guys several times and man they are sure going in the wrong direction with all those different adapters.
40w of solar 🤣 for 288wh that should be against the law 🤣. Ten hours in perfect conditions so you mind as well say two days to charge most people only get 4-6 hours of good sunlight. Jackery Nevers fails on disappointment 🤣. But at least they went to lifpo4 and got better display
Jackery makes great power stations but they're still way behind on charging speeds. Even the cheap Amazon power stations are outperforming Jackery when it comes to charging.
too bad its leaking RF. if it's going to degrade my wifi then i think its a bad choice. try again Jackery. also because its small i would prefer it could be charged up in a hurry on AC
I think one of your tests is incorrect. It is NOT regulated 12V output. I see the voltage clearly go down to 10.2 volts in the battery capacity test toward the end.
I absolutely hate when manufacturers change the specifications on a product and we are watching you review an original or prototype version. There are NOT 2 x 100W USB-c ports. They changed it to a 15w USB-C and 100W in/out USB-C. What makes me angrier is to go to Jackery Canada's site and they show pictures of 2 x 100W ports. The AMAZON CANADA shows pictures of BOTH. Some with a 15W usb-c port and some with 2 x 100W usb-c ports. Very deceiving. Looking at the top of the instruction booklet you are holding, It looks like you are reviewing is MODEL J5G-0304B and Jackery is sending out JE-300B with the 15 watt USB-C port.

I don't think it's impressive. Waste of time...My Jackery 500 is only good for one thing, lightweight charging of a laptop, small lights, or a phone. With its pitiful 67 watt max input, you really can't use it for much, nor can you charge it in a full day of sun. This little thing at least can charge faster. WTF with that 10 gauge power cord, OMG? 3 adapters needed to use USB-C in with that wonky orange cord? How is this solar? Crazy and typical of Jackery engineers to produce another absurd charging paradigm. 300Wh is tiny and is nothing more than a little phone battery charger at best. And they still have that huge cigarette lighter hole right smack in front, with no cover. This open hole is really most useful when you buy a plug adapter for more USB ports (10A). SOS feature is ridiculous, and why would you position a light to shine in your face when you are looking at the controls? Jackery has always been slow and way behind the curve in delivering the solid power that is meaningful for day to day continuity. Look to Bluetti units for a better deal per watt and more power.
Not impressed at all !!! And the fact that Jackery forces me to purchase a 12v car cord is a deal breaker, keep trying Jackery this is a fail in my opinion.

At 12:30 your Jackery is not outperforming, you got Jackery 300 Plus V2 but the manual is for V1.
Thanks Professor for anither informative video. Unfortunately $$$ are a bit scarce right now. Merry Christmas and best wishes for a great 2024.
Talked to Jackery can charge with usb-c cable from car cig lighter with an aftermarket pd car adapter for the cig lighter outlet
Can you do a video test on the jackery 2000 plus running the iceco APL fridge

I want to use this for a small space heater for my car in the winter will it power it? What about a regular household vacuum?
I want to see more units in the 500-watt hour range. I just don't see it worth the compromises these small units ask me to make.

In the video I state it charges slower so there's no point doing it.
