    The camera was too tight in a number of situations. It can help give a feeling of intimacy and involvement, but in the wrong situations (i.e. when he’s demonstrating something or having someone else demonstrate something) it gives the opposite feeling; we feel left out as viewers. Also, it’s really jarring when you’re trying to track a subject with such a tight focal length. Overall, good video, though. Thanks!

    Great memory for names I must say. He's got a lot of students. Love listening to him teach/coach. Having a great coach is a wonderful thing. It makes studying a martial art do much easier when you have this.
    For context I don't even practice Jiu-jitsu but I find myself watching a lot of his instructional content and interviews etc. He's just got a very clear mind and he's very good at conveying that to others.

    • @adrianarroyo937
      @adrianarroyo937 5 років тому +2

      @ Do you know what Danaher has that almost all top grappler lack, and make him such an admired coach? Knowledge. Top grapplers have the skill, but not necessarily the knowledge, and more often than not, a wrestler can do the move, but can't explain (well) how he did it. I've seen tons os instructionals, and they show you what you have to do, but they don't teach. Or better said, they teach as good as they can. Which usually is pretty mediocre. That's the reason why a lot of people don't care that Danaher never entered a competition. He may not have the skill, but he has the knowledge, and knows how to transmit it

    • @adrianarroyo937
      @adrianarroyo937 5 років тому

      @ Well, if in their DVDs they don't show all the key details to be able to start using the single leg correctly, then there's a void that Danaher will fill. If the wrestling coaches have such an amazing and high level details that we can't even comprehend them, maybe when people start to understand the position and the move thanks to Danaher's DVD, they may start to understand and use what the wrestling coaches teach in their DVDs.
      In any case, how do you know the level of Danaher's takedowns? He has never competed, nor shown anything about takedowns beyond this little pieces of video you can find on UA-cam. How do you know he's not also a top level takedown coach?
