Adrián Arroyo nope. It does not. If no one calls bullshit on bullshit the masses will never know. As long as he keeps talking out of pocket I’ll keep calling bullshit on the New Zealander wrestling wizard.
Because he's talking about something interesting. When I was in Jujitsu for 10 years we didn't try to catastrophically injure each other but I wasn't told those 3 things, either.
@@damienholland8103 Hey no one gives a fuck how long you did jujitsu for. The question is why are they filming him talking? Do you stare at an instructor when they're pointing at a chalk board trying to teach you something?
Last part about injuries sent shivers. Just drunk wrestling with friends we slipped on the floor and my friends entire weight fell on my knee while I was standing. I thought my leg had snapped at first it was so painful but thankfully it was just that pain and i was able to walk it off within 24 hours without much difficulty
Seriously Best videos and combat sports. You literally make us feel like we’re in that room with you. Amazing work better than embedded and anatomy by far
The camera was too tight in a number of situations. It can help give a feeling of intimacy and involvement, but in the wrong situations (i.e. when he’s demonstrating something or having someone else demonstrate something) it gives the opposite feeling; we feel left out as viewers. Also, it’s really jarring when you’re trying to track a subject with such a tight focal length. Overall, good video, though. Thanks!
Great memory for names I must say. He's got a lot of students. Love listening to him teach/coach. Having a great coach is a wonderful thing. It makes studying a martial art do much easier when you have this. For context I don't even practice Jiu-jitsu but I find myself watching a lot of his instructional content and interviews etc. He's just got a very clear mind and he's very good at conveying that to others.
oliver closehoff thanks for saying this. In the U.S. we have countless Olympic champions and NCAA/NAIA wrestling coaches and people want a dude that never wrestled to do a takedown video.... 🤦🏾♂️
oliver closehoff and add in the cultish mentality of the BJJ community. We are all looking for the next Jesus. Hoping some dude has a mystical detail that will allow us to skirt having to put more effort in.

@@BadWolfMMANashville t buy a dvd of danaher on takedowns would be a legit insult to every wrestler whos released a dvd
@ Do you know what Danaher has that almost all top grappler lack, and make him such an admired coach? Knowledge. Top grapplers have the skill, but not necessarily the knowledge, and more often than not, a wrestler can do the move, but can't explain (well) how he did it. I've seen tons os instructionals, and they show you what you have to do, but they don't teach. Or better said, they teach as good as they can. Which usually is pretty mediocre. That's the reason why a lot of people don't care that Danaher never entered a competition. He may not have the skill, but he has the knowledge, and knows how to transmit it
@ Well, if in their DVDs they don't show all the key details to be able to start using the single leg correctly, then there's a void that Danaher will fill. If the wrestling coaches have such an amazing and high level details that we can't even comprehend them, maybe when people start to understand the position and the move thanks to Danaher's DVD, they may start to understand and use what the wrestling coaches teach in their DVDs. In any case, how do you know the level of Danaher's takedowns? He has never competed, nor shown anything about takedowns beyond this little pieces of video you can find on UA-cam. How do you know he's not also a top level takedown coach?
Amazing video. I would pay good money to be able to see Danaher's classes on Renzo's. They could make a subscription, or something like that, I'm sure I'm not the only one
omg - f*cking fasciating listening to this man, very captivating. If Dan on his return will be picking Masvidal's brains with training then this would be perhaps another stop to absorb knowledge? Thumbs up, solid solid content here despite not being a bjj move video I still loved it!
what is the name of the technique he is mentioning in the later part of the video. The takedown with body lock... kereni togi? Can someone tell me what is the name?? The subtitles are saying Tanya Tasha xD
I would argue that the largest contributor to injuries in jiu jitsu is a lack of adequate rehab and recovery. Not enough mobilization, sleep, nutrition, and stretching. Without proper prehab/rehab the body will eventually break.
Hey Dan, i have a channel with various memes of Professor Danaher. I was wondering if you´d be ok with me using some of the first minute of John congratulating students after class for an intro of sorts? Cheers
Every single one of these elite killers is attempting to work together to find ANY weakness to exploit, but they all feel none, so it just looks like handshakes.
This is the first time I hear him talking with street words “ Fucking” “Asshole” ...I think he should talk as he use to talk in his interviews. Second his explanations , teaching details are very good but we could listen more if he had a huge competition or fighting background. I personally prefer Roger Gracie, or Gordon Ryan because of their fighting CV.
Camera man show what the hell Dan is explaining, there’s a reason he is explaining it, no need having the camera on his face while he’s explaining/showing things!
Who would pay $3 for a video behind a paywall of Danaher breaking down his most observed injury positions. 1/3 of the viewers maybe? Danaher makes $30k, we all learn how to treat homies well on the mat!
The reason why people pull their leg out in grappling is that most submission grapplers never wrestled and never learned how to control or finish a single leg. The end.
Danaher really sitting and shaking hands like the Jiu Jitsu Pope 🤝😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The best part is he thanked everybody bar one guy hahahhaha
@@kgatlw9134 he knows what he did 😜
*Nose exhale*
The Pope withdraws his hand when ppl try to kiss it though
John Danaher is totally in another level of teaching and understanding of jiu jitsu. I'm glad we have access to such nice content in youtube.
not just jiu-jitsu, grappling in general as you can see in those takedown details
bogdantheman1 🤦🏾♂️ come on. He knows nothing about takedowns. In fact, his best guys are guard pullers.
@@BadWolfMMANashville You're in every Danaher video just bad-mouthing him. Doesn't it get old?

@@btm1 he knows takedowns, there is a reason for pulling guard, he explains part of it right from the start.
9:15 - end. Very important conversation to have in any BJJ gym that is aiming to have a good training atmosphere.
He looks like he's giving blessings... 🤣
He is.
Rash guard POWAAAA
That is considered a blessing
I think he is from another dimension, was supposed to conquer earth but discover bjj instead
One person didnt do good work@@markmcguffin873
I see a reptile video with John Danaher, I immediately like before watching
Danahaer shaking all those hands is a meme waiting to happen
The details on the single leg escape counter was just priceless. Omg
Awesome video but would have loved to see what the guys were doing around 13:00.

Watching him work is something. It’s fucking brilliant
Wow 3:04 everyone is so excited for that detail
Just that opposite side tidbit re: avoiding the uchi mata was gold.

Totally true about the injuries. My worst injury so far was me falling on my shoulder with my body weight.
the guy commenting about danaher is pointing out something beautiful. it s good when those silent qualities get picked up and influence people

I wish the camera paned to the people he is instructing..
Great video. Thanks.
That soft handshake can be deadly
It can be deadly if you shake the hand in 9 simple steps.
whats the move called hes explaining at 13:00?
I wonder what the guy at 00:49 did for John not to even say anything to him lol
That part about the safety would've been much more useful, if the camera man focused on filming demonstration not the guy talking ;)
Great 👍🏼 safety tips...
4 months before covid, better times 🧙🏼♂️
