I didn't think about that, that's a good point. That adds a lot to Geto in that moment, shows that that moment is stuck in his head and reminds the viewer of that scene, directly tying that event to the conflicted feeling he has. That's brilliant writing.
The actual “breaking point” wasn’t the scene where Geto is putting the blanket over Haibara. It’s when he’s in the village and is told by the non-sorcerer residents to kill the little girls all while calling those girls horrible things and how they should’ve died as babies. In Getou’s mind, it was the weak harming the strong which was the final push of abandoning his old beliefs that the strong should protect the weak and instead take on the belief that all non-sorcerers should die so that only sorcerers remain, cursed spirits cease to exist, and people like those little girls aren’t mistreated for being different by the ignorant and hateful like the villagers. The process of his change/transformation form Jujutsu Sorcerer to Curse User started with Riko dying and Geto watching as a room full of non-sorcerers clapped and celebrated her death (her, a middle school girl who did nothing wrong) and completed when he snapped upon seeing two little girls abused and caged for being sorcerers while the non-sorcerer villagers called for them to be killed out of ignorance and hate. It’s especially apparent when you see how he looks afterwards. Before, he was tired and looked unhealthy due to the weight of Riko’s death and the existential questions it raised, and after, he looked happy and complete, almost like he was back to his old self with maybe a bit more energy now
mappa isn’t running out of “budget” that’s a bad misconception in the animation industry, while the schedule for season 2 isn’t the best reason why some shots look different from others is because of direction, just because a scene looks like it has less detail (which is how character designs are meant to look this season) doesn’t mean it’s necessarily bad animation
I want to add that Geto's physical appearance changed drastically after deciding to kill all non-sorcerers. It's a minor detail but I believe it was heavily correlated to psyche.
6:09 Its crazy how people think "detailed animation" is good animation. I would rather have low detail fluid animation like Kakashi vs Obito, or like one in some of the scenes in this episode, than high detail low frames animation (like JJBA uses to have).
Great vid dude! Interesting take on the sound of the water being like static. It personally reminded me of the claps from the cult. The episode was amazing imo, great directing and animation
- 1:10 Gojo is using reverse cursed technique to heal himself thus allowing him to keep limitless active perpetually with no harm - 7:11 Toji was the only one she found with a heavenly pact and zero cursed energy - 8:56 That’s the sound of the religious members clapping
S2 easily made Geto my favourite character from JJK. Also, the low detailed models was likely just a design choice and I doubt it's because of budget (S2 has lower detailed designs compared to S1 overall anyways, I'd assume coz lower detailed designs are less stress on animators)
6:00 its not poorly animated. its an artistic choice but most western viewers dont like it so theres this false consensus that the episode was "rushed". everyones just clueless about the animation process. if you wanna know more watch an animation analysis on the episode.
I feel like the rain in the background was more. If you play the episode again and listen to the background of the rain. It sounds like the cheering that you hear with the cult members.
Hey I just wanted to point out that the sound of the rain or water isn't turning into static it's actually turning into the clapping sounds of the religious group in the previous episode
this was kinda hard to watch to be honest. It wouldnt be a bad thing to rewatch the episode and really gather your thoughts on what you feel is being conveyed in regards to Geto and his headspace. Not to be rude.

I don’t believe the sound Geto is hearing was static, I’m fairly certain it was the sound of the people applauding Rika’s death

it was like 100% that@@SeaTactics
Yeah it was the applause
I heard the clapping too! Both in the shower scene and when it focused on the sound of the rain outside when Geto was speaking to Yuki
I’m late but everyone else pointed it out 😊”Applause “

That was not static. That was the religious group clapping. Where the turn started.
Gojo is using RCT to constantly heal his brain. That is why he can use the infinity indefinitly

It's part of the artstyle itself, it supposed to be far and out of focused.
@@mishka1313 ik I honestly like this style more for now but we gon have to see for the shibuya incident

Why does he want to kill all non sorcerers
Bro this Ep really felt like 5 mins...

Yuki is the same woman we see in Todo's flashback in s1.
So i'm assuming she'll be pivotal in the future
Gojo and Eren 🗿🗿🗿
thanks this is awesome, been trying to look for analysis because theres so much i forgot from season 1 and things i dont understand.
The moment Geto broke was the moment Riko was shot and killed right before him.
Great episode. Great video. Missed a chance to insert a Frieza clip at 4:05 😅
I don’t think it’s static in the shower. I think it’s the clapping.
no way first also love thiis

My shock was the little talk about Riko's death. Yeah, one year passed, but that coldness was hard.
