I personally like Choso vs Yuji fight more. The visuals and details over characters and background with fluid animation as the same level as this episode, it was so good.
I liked this episode. It's the like animators did whatever they wanted to because no one was there to stop them. And the one thing that stood out about this episode over all the rest, was how they conveyed space. Both fights are in a city that is usually heavily populated. So the environment was not only used well, it's easy to track where the fighters were and where they are going. Even Yuji vs Choso fight was hard to track at times, and they were in an enclosed space. Also, loved how the rabbits tried to kick Toji in the face 😅 Still want the animators to take a break. I don't mind waiting if this is what they will give us.
I am a fan of loose drawings they have this strange liking to it how much i seen these type of animations cause it reminded me of hell verse ichigo vs ulqiourra, yes it also didn't have any shadows. Actually maybe it does it has this light air brush shadows
The animation in episode gave me Naruto/Naruto Shippuden vibes when they 'flipped the switch' on the animation, like Naruto v Sasuke or Madara v Shinobi Alliance. Im saying that as a compliment as i loved that art style.
i love how many backgrounds are screenshots of google earth or a collage of photos with a cellshade filter and some color correction and you don't even notice it up untill ones pays attention.
I feel like they knew that if they made the episode very detailed they wouldn't have been able to animate this episode the way then wanted so they played into it, and made the episode somewhat abstract and unprocessed, playing into the absolute chaos that was gonna be in the episode. Like...why animate an episode of nothing but pure and utter chaos, with rigid and stereotypical details? They're not gonna have time to do it that way regardless so they went f*ck it and focused *everything* on the animation, minimizing on the detailings. And I *F•CKING LOVED IT!*
0:36 Interesting hearing them talk about bringing the expressions closer to the original (I'd assume closer to the manga), coz there were 1 or 2 shots of Sukuna that felt like they were ripped straight from the manga (10:08 being one of them). Easily the best episode
After watching this episode I am just curious to know who y'all pick as the "BEST ACTION DIRECTOR" between Sunghoo park and Itsuki tsuchigami (not on experience but on style). Who u guys pick and explain why I'd pick Sunghoo park mainly because his kanada style animation uses the right amount of smears, impact frames and maintaing the character design consistency (as close to the character design sheet) while not sacrifising the fluidity of the combat sequence, which would appease both normies and crazy animation analysts (sakugatards). Whereas animators like Hakuyu go, tsuchigami, onsen, kato etc......they make the charcater drawings and environment around the characters very simple, so that they can add more frames which looks ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC in terms of how fluid the action scene looks which may or may not appease to normies but it'll be a TREAT to animation analysts to witness the PURE CHAOS ON SCREEN.
Absolutely episode of the year. The animation exceeded my expectations. Only way it doesn’t is if next episode outhypes it which is a real possibility if you know… yeah
yeah easily the best animated episode. and people still argue with me even tho there where like too episodes that subjectivly had better animation in the past. the hanami fight and choso vs yuji. however the momentum and consistency is insane. this clearly took more work than choso vs yuji. if you look at the hanami vs yuji and todo animation it looks inconsistent and unnatural compared to this.
What an episode this was❤. I can't find words to describe this episode. Such a great effort by the JJK TEAM. Love them for animating one of my all time fav arcs
I can understand some being critical, but the fluidity was unmatched. This deserves praise and not the lable of "worst animation". People are genuinely dense, heard the same nonsense about the first five, even though that was peak as well...
Season 2 animation feels inconsistent tbh ( not hidden inventory arc) Almost all the episode feel somewhat incomplete (Except choso vs yuji) They're still good but u can't help but feel they could have been much better I believe this is what happens when u don't give animators enough time But they tried their best I guess I believe anime only or manga readers deserve animation that is actually complete especially since this is such a great arc
the s1 is more incosistent, s1 has less good animators and the same problem with the schedule, the only very good episode are ep1 ep 7 ep 12 ep hanami vs yuji and todo and ep 24, cause all the dialogue scenes in s1 are very incosistent, with 0 character acting and bad background, so yeah you remember only the good moment and also problably the details visually hidden the animation problems in s1. Also you maybe think "backgrounds aren't so important" and no are like the 50% of the work and also in shibuya arc with a cartoonish style of backgrounds like s1 all would be so odd, also because gege use all place that exist in real life.
Choso vs Yuji was literally one of the most incomplete episodes of the season while this episode was literally the most complete outside of hidden inventory, you can literally see in Choso vs Yuji that they had to zoom up the animation due to it being incomplete, ep 13 was still amazing but I think your mistaking completeness for complex character art, this episode and ep 13 have different design philosophies *THAT'S IT*
I love the shadow bunnies getting in on the action (even though they get brutalize) it was funny and entertaining as hell. This whole episode was amazing. Felt like I was watching a movie. Thanks for the vid. I’m just starting to really appreciate animation and it’s pretty cool to listen to someone who has a passion for this stuff break it down a bit.
I hate ya'll JJk fans 😂 Y'all were the same people sending death threats and shit talking the animators of JJK for the lack of effort that was done for some of the lesser fights but when the peak fights of this arc start to come out then ya'll switch up. Like at least with Bleach, Naruto, Dbz fans, we d ride the hell out of our series but y'all JJK fans the type to bully your own series which is stupid
i would love to understand. but the choso fight was giving me chills and "omg this is soooo cool" vibes. This episode is like: "yeah. i guess it's super good craftsmanship, but it all feels so weak to me." It doesnt let me feel connected in any way even tho i had some moments i would normally love.
Those who actually have tried to draw before and realizing how difficult it is drawing each frame of this with high amount of movements, fps, and creative camera work will certainly appreciate this more.

The animation is exceptional, the blending isn't - no hate to the hard working animators although I'm grateful that this series continues it's serialization and hope MAPPA will give their animators some rest.
Easy EOTY contender and best fight of the year for me till now
Was hoping for Sato to do some fire effects like he did in aprocrypa but sou miyazaki cooked really hard instead, can't wait to see gege rxn to Birdy reference lmao
Best episode in terms of animation, people who don't know sht about animation hating on it because of the loose artstyle and calling it "bad animation" boils my blood
bro there were literal still images for a few shots🤣🤣.. jujutsutard
@@jokepore1532what are you even talking about?lmao
@@jokepore1532Literally every action cut moved this episode wtf r u talking abt.
How, I need an explanation? It was like sketch paint. Season 1 had way better animation than this.
@@snowvc_ dumb take. animation literally means movement all just look at Megumi vs toji and obviously sukuna vs jogo the insane direction, how the scenes flow so well no janky movement, 2D animated background and unique style easily God tier season 1 on the other? Terrible compositing and background, and a lot of janky animation
Love this episode. Great video!
This was a fever dream on 120 fps and I freaking loved every bit of it😂
Yeah, you are right when you said that animation comes in many forms because this ep initialy threw me way off, i thought oh noo.. we are witnessing the total collapse of animation buget in front of our eyes.. this is it.. but then i realised that this actually looks amazing and unique and i ended up loving it. Ehh you learn something new every day 🤷🏻♂️
ofcourse JJK rabbits know how to throw hands
Literally was just checking if you posted on community tab lol

noticed this while watching the episode aswell but it’s so cool how they show the temperature rising
This was really fun episode and you are very right, every frame had something to look at. It did feel like a different episode and also the voice work felt just so right.
Cant believe people were hating on this episode. Half of them didnt even know the difference between animation and art style
Your videos are getting better and better. Thank you very much
Cool video thank you for the detailed observations. You said at one point that the next episode is going to be even better, where does that info come from ?
Mostly based on reputed leaks, every single leaker has shared that same opinion, which leads me to believe that there's some truth to it.
@@ProbablyPretentiouslink those leakers
@@ProbablyPretentious Animators as well Onsen and Koazuma Shinsaku talked about it, supposedly 30k drawings
If the animators need a one month break give it to them they deserve it.
I really like how you break down the animation, i've definitely learned some new terms thanks to your videos. Have you ever considered doing movies? id love to see you break down spider verse or puss in boots, I enjoy your breakdowns the most but I know there are other channels that probably do that.
this style of animation throughout the episode really reminded me of the Shimazaki fight in mob psycho season 2 and now I adore both for how creative they got, but gor damn if i were to put one above the other for now i would put this episode above the Shimazaki fight
same director
that actually makes complete sense
Lesson of the day: make animators do what the f*ck they want
Not really, a good animation director imo is more important than the animators themselves
@@ultimatumdweebium2965 I agree but sometimes make them do shits they want like put they're own art styles would be nice while still following the direction
People thinking animation is only about stillshots is driving me nuts
Was waiting for you to cover this marvelous ep next weeks will be even better
This guy knows what he's talking about
This ep was nothing less but God-Tier beacause holy shit idk how they were able to achieve this level of sheer creativity and vibrancy to it but they did and i am so thankful for that.

You didn't watch the video did you?
People claiming how the terrible schedule has finally caught up to them, and how the animators "probably" did the best they could...is the funniest shit ever.
People said that? LMFAO
People absolutely have no idea these animators have been working so hard to put off this type of shit on the tight ass schedule they have. They dont put enough respect to their grind
I actually love the lack of shading in the frame-by-frame shots. It reminds me of early Naruto and One Piece
Animation is so chaotically fluent and pop out better than how we expected it be and not cgi
This episode was so hype!
in my opinion i prefer this type of loose line work and characters without shadows
If MAPPA truly pulls through next episode then JJK will be best anime of the year by a long shot
I thought it was practically impossible to top the Choso fight but somehow these madlads did it.
Gotta wait for Yuji vs mahito fight that fights needs to be the best animated one in this season
I dont agree i liked choso va yuji because of the visuals.
Choso Yuji was peak atmosphere and hella immersive. This one was just too pew pew to me. @@Noor-sl5ep
Also, loved how the rabbits tried to kick Toji in the face 😅
Still want the animators to take a break. I don't mind waiting if this is what they will give us.
This episode gives me mob psycho vibe, it was great.
I am a fan of loose drawings they have this strange liking to it how much i seen these type of animations cause it reminded me of hell verse ichigo vs ulqiourra, yes it also didn't have any shadows. Actually maybe it does it has this light air brush shadows
This episode was truly peak 11/10 ⭐ for me
For me is 💯/10🤩🤩🤩
The animation in episode gave me Naruto/Naruto Shippuden vibes when they 'flipped the switch' on the animation, like Naruto v Sasuke or Madara v Shinobi Alliance. Im saying that as a compliment as i loved that art style.
this episode gone moon and way beyond ,its CRAZY..!
I honestly prefer the shadowless drawings, they look more 3d for some reason , and the vibe that it gives fits much better
Thank you for making this content! I’ve been watching for a few months now and you’ve really taught me a lot
mp100 fights got some of the best animated fights i've seen. i'm so glad they decided to give this fight the same treatment
Whoa, the meteor forming wasn't by keiichiro watanabe? It's insane how the animators animated it like Kiro's
7:39 I like the fact that the temperature is low at first and then gets rapidly hotter and going from around 15 to 99
i love how many backgrounds are screenshots of google earth or a collage of photos with a cellshade filter and some color correction and you don't even notice it up untill ones pays attention.
bro you are joking, the incredible thing is that it's all hand drawn.
what is this nigga yapping abt, everything is hand drawn😭
just making shit up cuz these scenes were all hand drawn
Am i not the only one getting monogatari movie vibes from this ep
The artstyle kinda gives me the same vibe lmao
LESS GOOOO I WAS WAITING FOR YOU TO DROP THE EPISODE
It seemed like a Sacrifice of detail for movement. Similar to Mob psycho . Idk i felt like it could’ve looked better imo
Nope can't get better than that
Its called animation.
@@thatguysho227 of course it’s animation. But is it actually good?
@@kelechin.1977Yes it does
Actual sauka animation always will look better than stiff detailed models. And that is fact
Mob Psycho was a unique and amazing looking show so that would be a compliment tho?
After watching this episode I am just curious to know who y'all pick as the "BEST ACTION DIRECTOR" between Sunghoo park and Itsuki tsuchigami (not on experience but on style). Who u guys pick and explain why
I'd pick Sunghoo park mainly because his kanada style animation uses the right amount of smears, impact frames and maintaing the character design consistency (as close to the character design sheet) while not sacrifising the fluidity of the combat sequence, which would appease both normies and crazy animation analysts (sakugatards).
A true Artist would pick Itsuki
@@g1lbert68 is that ur reason?
@@mvr6478 but I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder
Itsuki has done more impressive stuff and is definitely way more creative, park is amazing though, truly a master of hand to hand choreography

Absolutely episode of the year. The animation exceeded my expectations. Only way it doesn’t is if next episode outhypes it which is a real possibility if you know… yeah
Bruh the 🐇 Kung Fu had me dying lmao!!!
i love mahoraga and if it’s true next episode gets the same treatment then thank you jjk team
Lol i thought you were being sarcastic initially 😂
yeah easily the best animated episode. and people still argue with me even tho there where like too episodes that subjectivly had better animation in the past. the hanami fight and choso vs yuji. however the momentum and consistency is insane. this clearly took more work than choso vs yuji. if you look at the hanami vs yuji and todo animation it looks inconsistent and unnatural compared to this.
This is the kinda episode that makes you want Seshimo on OPM
Hell nah, bones would be way better
@@re_striker3431honestly i agree. Seshimo is a GOD, but bones is basically MADE for OPM.

What an episode this was❤.
I can't find words to describe this episode. Such a great effort by the JJK TEAM. Love them for animating one of my all time fav arcs
This episode is up there with the one piece zoro vs king episode. My two favorite episodes of the year so far.
I can understand some being critical, but the fluidity was unmatched. This deserves praise and not the lable of "worst animation". People are genuinely dense, heard the same nonsense about the first five, even though that was peak as well...
Please make a video about Record Ragnarok.
The last time probably pretentious glaze for an ep this hard was chainsaw man 😂😂😂love your vids bro
Season 2 animation feels inconsistent tbh ( not hidden inventory arc)
Almost all the episode feel somewhat incomplete
(Except choso vs yuji)
They're still good but u can't help but feel they could have been much better
I believe this is what happens when u don't give animators enough time
But they tried their best I guess
I believe anime only or manga readers deserve animation that is actually complete
especially since this is such a great arc
the s1 is more incosistent, s1 has less good animators and the same problem with the schedule, the only very good episode are ep1 ep 7 ep 12 ep hanami vs yuji and todo and ep 24, cause all the dialogue scenes in s1 are very incosistent, with 0 character acting and bad background, so yeah you remember only the good moment and also problably the details visually hidden the animation problems in s1.
Yeh some jjk fans are horrible, and its truly sad...
To those people who's saying this is bad animation or bad art style, It's actually the greatest we have seen this year, (well one of the best)
i would love to understand. but the choso fight was giving me chills and "omg this is soooo cool" vibes. This episode is like: "yeah. i guess it's super good craftsmanship, but it all feels so weak to me."

the other 20% are either people that are stuck with season 1 animation glazing era and have never watched any other anime artstyle in their life other than that. or its from haters from other series that feel insecure by jjk success ( *cough* one piece and mha fans *cough* ).
