Yeah Fairy toast, buttered toast with sprinkles on, best if you butter then add the sprinkles straight away as they soften a little, Have a beautiful week all at the Hobbit Hole x x x x x
We don't put the sprinkles on buttered toast, we put it on buttered bread, preferably white bread. It's starting to bother me a bit, because I've seen so many people doing it wrong! If there is a picture on the box,you can clearly see it's just bread, not toast! Sorry if I sound a bit agressive, but it needs to be said.
Great video. I love stroopwaffels! I use to work with someone from The Netherlands and she'd bring some back when she visited family. She thought us the trick with putting it on a hot beverages. On my 50th Birthday we went to Amsterdam for the weekend and had fresh made Stroopwaffels at the market. It was so good.
Looked like you guys had fun with this. I personally love the liquorice chalks. Not the sprinkles though maybe as a child 🙂 still enjoyed all your thoughts and reactioms though. Have a lovely week all
You said cacao correctly the first time! Well done! My mom has a artisan farm to bar cacao company and this is one of the things we have to educate on.
hi Nathan and Haley haven't been on the channel for some time just seen the video from 9 months ago massive congratulations absolutely fantastic news may sage (beautiful by the way name well done) be given all the blessings in heaven you both look well lots of videos to binge on in lockdown lool keep up the good work
I'm from the Netherlands too, I haven't had stroopwafels in about a year and a half. I shouldn't watch this video while pregnant because now I want them again 😂 It's sweet how you guys pronounce the snacks haha
Mmm stroopwafels. Possibly the best invention to come out of the Netherlands 😊 Never tried sprinkles on toast but them I'm not a fan of sweet things on bread (I don't even enjoy marmalade/jam on toast).
It's so funny you said Dutch is not a very natural language for English speakers, but actually Dutch is the second closest language to English. West Frisian (also spoken in the Netherlands mostly in the province of Friesland) is the closest language to English. Both Dutch and English are part of the Western Germanic language family along with Frisian, German and Afrikaans.
Failure alert ! 😂 the Dutch eat their sprinkles on bread, not on toast. So we do not toast the bread. Two reasons: first, the thick layer of butter or margerine will not melt and the sprinkles are supposed to stick to the butter. Secondly, when you have the sprinkles on the bread you fold the bread in half so get a sprinkles sandwich. That is the way I eat it normally. Now I know, American supermarket bread is crap, do buy it at a bakery or bake your own bread to enjoy it to the max.
Have you ever tried sprinkles on buttered toast? If so, which kind is your favorite?
I'm English and don't know what sprinkles are.
Are they what we call hundreds and thousands?
I have never tried sprinkles on buttered toast
@@carolinegray3150 What are sprinkles?
Jill, yes, they are the same thing
@@FromtheHobbitHole Thanks for letting me know
Broodje hagelslag is so old school! Heerlijk met pindakaas ook!
Nice! I got to try some snacks from the Netherlands once too ---the sprinkles were fun, and as a kid would have been an amazing breakfast! ;)

No worries! We completely misunderstood then, and that’s our bad. Next time we make the sprinkle bread, we won’t toast the bread 😉

Nice dark and milk chocolate cookies
The big round piece of licorice is indeed a round up string, so you have to unravel it.

We did not realize that at all! Thanks for sharing.
I like liquorice allsorts from bassets
If you think you've built up a tolerance for salted licorice, you obviously haven't tried the Dutch double salted licorice yet.
Nicevideo
Angel bread in Oz.
That’s a fun name for it!
