Thanks crossfader, got a works gig next week not used CDDJs in about 6 or 7 years so this video as well as previous ones has got me back up to speed, great content and appreciated.
One thing I can’t understand is how do DJs using separate CDJ decks Be comfortable not seeing the wave form of each track directly next to each other like what laptop can provide ? I only use the parallel view with a laptop and a controller because I need to see the wave forms stacked on each other to visualize each track being in sink, where this is not possible on separate CDJ decks, I guess using sync button or ear is the way around this, but not seeing waves either vertical or parallel against each other bothers me
@@djstantsia7905 Sure ears are key, just seems unfortunate to lose the side-by-side waveform viewing using standalone decks. I've been in situations where I've impulsively wanted to play track only to find it missing a good beat grid but instead mixed it in on time observing where the kicks are + ears, in those moments seeing the side-by-side waveforms helps solve a problem when you only have seconds to figure it out
@@ke0kie Dont get me wrong. Im totally with you on this. I also prefer song grids on top of each other. I use DDJ800 2ch with VDJ . i don't think there's much use for 4 ch controllers either
How did you get the second column so you can show the BPM and key next to the song name? When I am in Rekordbox, there is only an option to add one column in the preferences.
On my XZ i can rate songs. I use 1 star for bad songs that i not like or want to delete and i use 4 and 5 stars on bangers i like. I was on a gig this weekend playing on CDJs 3000 but i did not see my ratings og the songs. Its a big + for me to see if i have rated a song with 5 stars or not at all. Thanks 🙏
I use a pair of pioneer cdj 850 players, which I had to save for about 6 months to afford (the better/newer pioneer cdj players are seriously expensive so a no-go for me!) I’ve been dj’ing for about 20 years, started on basic vinyl turntables. I’m only just beginning to understand most of the features on my 850’s, I know the basics but as far as cue points, loops etc go I don’t really understand it all. Do you do videos guiding use of older players like mine? Am just a bedroom dj, never played in a club or really big house parties. Thankyou in advance
I feel the same way but many of the spots that I DJ at have CDJS already set up and not much room to plug in other gear. So much easier to show up with a pair of headphones and a USB stick.
how did you get the wave form to display like that on the screen? can pls kindly do a video on how to set up the wave and how to make the cdj screen look like that thanks...
@@ederlozano1454 this is one of my main reasons for not leaving serato. Brand new song, middle of a set, I can get it analyzed and use it properly right away. I’m unsure if RB is able to do that but serato has been able to for years. Over a decade.
@@ederlozano1454 well, you can get mixed in key which will do all the same stuff, actually better than most other analyzing software. It’ll give you bpm, grids, key, and it’s really accurate.
that's the key of the track. you can use this for harmonic mixing - it will show you (in green) which track matches another one. Google 'camalot wheel' and you will understand :)
Rekordbox Preferences, View, Key Display either original or alphanumeric. Choose alphanumeric and play songs that are similar in number so 3 can be played with 3, 4 or a 2. Or for example a 12 with an 11, 12, or 1. It'll really help your harmonic mixing.
Hi i have a problem when i export tracks they only export my maps but i export playlists and dont see any one can sombody help me i dont know what i do wrong on my rx2 it is all good but on a cdj cant see my playlists
I have some DJ friends who really love the Denons but my main issue is that MOST dj booths in Canada have Pioneer gear. I have limited experience with the Denon gear because of that simple fact.
Just show me how to turn off beat sync and Master. I can use every inch of this machine but what trips me up more than anything is walking up to CDJs and the beat sync is on. This drives me crazy.
Video is great, but the gear definitely is overpriced and unergonomic trash. A well designed controller has much better and logical implementation of features than the Pioneer stuff at a fraction of the price too.
Never EVER turn the master tempo on. It processes some artifacts of the song, elements that make a track danceable. When you use it, not only do you lose the punchiness and authenticity of these elements, but you also lose some of your low end, as well as a part of your mids. It's basically cancer for music. Don't use it and don't stretch the tempo of your tracks by more than 4 or 5%. Also, keep in mind that you go up or down by a semi-tone when you go up or down 3% in your tempo.

New to this.. do people even use CDs anymore on CDJs or is it all USB or laptop ?

there’s overlapping waveforms on 3000s and phase meters on 2000s. make sure your grids are dialed in on rekordbox and you’re set.

What do u recommend me to buy: cdj 2000 nxs or 2000 nxs2 and why??
Is there an option to hide the waveform ??
Hi , so how do you load a track in the second player ?
thank you
does the usb stick on deck 1 work on both decks or do you need a usb in each deck???

How do you key shift on CDJ’s?
how did you get the wave form to display like that on the screen? can pls kindly do a video on how to set up the wave and how to make the cdj screen look like that thanks...
How the tracks are sorted within a playlist ? Can you change it on the fly ?
What kit is this?
Why does the job wheel jump back to the beginning when I move the jog wheel when paused? How do I turn this annoying feature off!!!!
I've been reading around that FLAC files wont work on cdj's. most of my music are FLAC files 😬
What happened if you plugged your USB in the CDJ if you don't have rekordbox?!
It will load songs, and give you waveforms, but no beat grids so nothing that comes with those parameters like auto loops and beat jumping etc.
