Easily the best Mandarin teacher on UA-cam. Thanks for going into such detail.
Oh, man, you should have a whole set on analyzing native speakers' Chinese! That'd be cool too!!!! Your vids are awesome!!!
Like who you are interested in to be analyzed?😜
@@ChinesewithXiaolu I hadn't forgotten about your question! I've been looking for the perfect thing I'd love to see analyzed and I found it!!! On this show, these two contestants go at it! They speak sooooooooooooo fast and intensely! You've gotta see this! ua-cam.com/video/UvUH3ZfOVo4/v-deo.html
This is so good, as a Chinese learner, this has helped me so much! Thank you Xiaolu! Love your work!!!
I Just start learning chinese.thank you much for that great video!
Your channel IS AMAZING!
I hope you continue to do videos in the future too☺
Subscribed 💗💗☺
thanks! Xiao Lu
Oh boy... hahahaha, I'm gonna have fun with these exercises
Thank you Xiaolu for sharing on this, yes for me also difficult to pronounce them 😁
Thank you! You helped me a lot!
Ni hao:
My professor for computer science recommended me always give feed back anything positive this is the case on this video
Like forty four and so on
I think is an excellent practice for Americans
Xie xie
Cesar
you are just briliant
Great video! Thanks for the Zi Ci Si differentiation 😁
That was you🤗
I found it best to play it at 0.5x speed for practice.
Tq so much...
Oh my god.your the best for me❤
I love how she’s this cute soft-spoken woman, but out of nowhere you get a fight soundtrack and random troll effects. That’s my kind of learning experience 👌
Thanks for the tips !
I still got a problem for differenciation between "zi" and "ji" , particularly with the consonants z and j, it sounds quite similar to me , do you have clues for that please ?!
my wife is chinese and I literally spent 2 weeks practicing this with her until they felt comfortable lol just about 2 months ago xD
Good on you😁
It's so hard to practice your lessons today mam I need some much more time indeed zi ci si zhi chi shi 😮😢 btw I just see your clip first time and I like it so much
very nice video
Nice
Thanks, really helpful! For me, the difference between zh/ch/sh and j/q/x is even harder... I know they're made in different parts of the mouth, but they still sound the same to my English speaking ears ;_;
You must forget the sound of the letter in English first. These two sets actually quite different in both sound and mouth/ tongue position, but don't worry. When you getting more time with Chinese it will coming easier.🤗
I always made a mistake pronouncing that words specially when I speak a little bit faster。
xiaolu老师 太感谢
这个超重要的。😊
2:05 word practice
2:20 tongue twister practice set to 0.5x first
Jiayou
Day 1 journal: I'm crying, i gave up see you tomorrow 😭
Zi and ci sound almost the same for me, but i guess practicing their pronunciation will help differentiate them😭 thanks for the video!!
You are right! Just like in English ds and ts a little but similar. And these two does sound bit similar to Chinese learner.
Great video thanks.s it true that( i) sounds like zz after z c s & re after zh ch sh & r?thanks.
我终于明白了, thanks
A little tiny correction Xiaolu 2:21 - 四十四 I guess it should be 四是四。Other than that you are great. I follow you and I'm learning a lot with you. Your videos are actually really helpful.
Oops! A typo, thanks!
how to recommend or pronounce cai ?
Zi ci si, wich means send help my mouth it's in trouble... Just kidding but for real nice video, keep up with the good content.
Pls x and q too
The moment she said 四是四十是十十四是十四四十是四十, I realized that I'm a noob 😂
So how to hear the difference between all of them?
Video was very useful.
And teacher I also had a crush on you by the way😊
zhe 和 zhi 怎么发音呢?听起来一样的
🙈 I don't have a problem with pronouncing them but the tongue twister is kind of hard for me because I'm bad with (2nd tone and 4th tone in the two words 是and 十)
This twister would help with that as well🤗🤗🤗
I had no problem to pronounching these too, and even not that much with the tones, but for the tongue twister.... that got my brain melting after the second time i tried to say it again lol
Are shì, shī, shí all the same and how do we place put tounge curls in those 😭
I can finally do Q and X but they are even tougher than z (=dz) and c (=ts)
q=tqch and you really blow a lot of air on it.
x= hsh or hs. I still have no idea which is more correct I hear chinese speakers saying x both ways. also really blow a lot of air on this one. Both these start and finish with blowing air you should be exhaling the entire time when saying these two.
God I hope i'm even halfway right because neither of these sounds exist in any European language.
Hen kuai
谢谢您。
关于或者我也烦恼。声音有什么区别?
叫是jiao, 找是zhao. 你是傻子吗?
@@nicohuawei321 Thanks bro, I know the pinyin. I find it hard to differentiate the sounds when speaking / listening. I mistakenly thought "I can't be the only one with this problem." 但我肯定是傻子。
Impossible.
Zhu and ju
j is like english j
zh is like french g as in mirage fromage garage some of the -age words in english are french loan words (probably most) so you do have the zh sound in english as exemplified here.
zh also exists commonly in Russian so look for Russian words or place names you know General Zhukov for example
My biggest problem is between 中 and 冲. It is too hard for me hahah
When you pronunce zhi & chi. The air coming out from your mouth is much stronger when you pronunce chi, and the shape of your mouth is a little bit rounder and pull your lips out a little bit more.
Its too quick to follow
You sound exactly the same in all words, should work on your accent
