    Hey first of great vidoes!!! But secondly, is this in a specific accent? and how much does your pronounciation differenciate from, for example, how a taiwanese would speak?

    • @keystochinese0921
      @keystochinese0921  4 місяці тому +1

      Thank you for your question. So I speak Mandarin Chinese which is the official language of mainland China. First, mandarin Chinese was based on northern dialect. Some pronunciations such as er sound in Mandarin Chinese do not exist in southern accent so it can be difficult for people from south of China to learn it. All children learn Mandarin Chinese in school. Taiwanese is quite similar to Mandarin Chinese. We understand each other. However due to different governments, they do not learn mandarin in school. I’m not sure they have an official version of Taiwanese. Even though mandarin and Taiwanese are quite similar there are still differences just like British English and American English. For example, in Taiwanese there is also no er sound; some choices of words can be different. Other big difference is that if you learn mandarin you will learn simplified Chinese characters; if you learn Taiwanese, you will learn traditional Chinese characters. This is only for writing system and does not affect speaking. Let me know if you have more questions.

    21-?? did I miss something-? with Y & W that is 23-!!! whats up please-?

    • @keystochinese0921
      @keystochinese0921  Рік тому

      Thank you for your questions. You are right that it is 23 with y and w. I don't count y and w as initials because they are technically two finals (vowels) u and i. We only write them as w and y when they are at the beginning of a pinyin syllable to separate syllables more easily.
