This is about the third time that I have seen this video. I am now getting up more often by setting my alarm every hour and move for 5 to 10 minutes each time. I’m not as stiff. I’ve also am practicing tai chi now and gentle stretches as I build up my strength. There has been a considerable improvement in my daily activities now. Thank you for this video.❤
This is such an important lesson! Protecting your peace and setting boundaries in old age is key to living a happier, stress-free life. Thank you for sharing this wisdom
If diagnosed with Alzheimer's, I find it best to not tell anyone until you have a lawyer who will protect your assets & wishes. It might be years before anyone knows. Likely no one will want to help you through this, & someone will 'get stuck' helping you,. If you have money, make sure that is protected from brokers & relatives who are not under scrutiny. A dog can be a huge help, or cat. I found Emotional Episodes that escalate can be ended with CBD oil or other cannabis products in minutes. Losing things & being robbed are harder to differentiate, secure special stuff. Each morning is a fresh start. Low expectations equal less stress.
When we got older,my stepson thinks we should attend most of their family functions. They enlist the children in alot of activities and expect us to attend. My husband seems to comply however I don't attend many of them. I don't relish sitting in the sun in90 degree weather nor freezing at football games. If we don't attend, then his wife writes an angry Facebook comment on her page calling us bad grandparents. All the more reason to not go .
Such an intriguing perspective! At over 50, I've realized that setting boundaries is key to peace of mind. But what do you think-can being 'cold' sometimes push people away who might genuinely care? Let’s discuss!
While I agree with maintaining boundaries, do you think being 'cold' could be misunderstood as being indifferent by some? It’s an interesting balance to strike for sure!
If they misunderstand, it is not your burden to figure out. That’s hard for me! I learn everything AFTER the fact, I tend to feel like I owe questioner an explanation, and tend to believe what someone says simply because they say it!!! I’m 68 and still struggle with that, and have let SO many people into my life just to beat down my confidence- then that eats away at my self confidence- it’s like a cycle, but I will always embrace growing.( the losers are no longer anywhere near my life anymore lol)

This is a confirmation that starting boundaries was a life decision and for those who couldn’t understand!? Didn’t want to understand!
Yes! Those who matter don’t mind and those who mind don’t matter!
(I didn’t make that up but have always loved that saying!)
Life is there to live and enjoy.Do your best.

An old guy who eats a dozen mixed donuts every morning was asked by a woman what his body mass index (BMI) was.
There’s an old saying curiosity killed the cat, especially if you’re a mouse.
God is in charge.
You go on too long. Too repetitive.
