Hi My name is Rajendran and am 68 years now from Kerala- southern most part of India. I am physically not well affected by life diseases. My wife is with me, children - two gifted son- are at their work place with their wife. I am mostly alone and spending time became very difficult. I am not in a position to read more due to vision problem. Also till recent I was doing small agriculture by myself in my own small land piece, but now that also became difficult due to physical limitation of my age. I am a type of person often not socialising, mostly sit inside my house sit, sleep,sit sleep like that. People knew me since young age, when see me while they travel ask ' where r you, not seeing now a days outside, could not see you on that function, not seen there on temple festival etc. My basic need ie food, clothing and shelter are comfortably met from my pension and I seldom feel the necessity of going out. I don’t need a lot of close friends, but I do need socialization. I tried doing without socializing and I was miserable. Socializing helps my anxiety. I fell and broke an ankle and arm. Luckily, I had two children nearby to take me to the emergency room. You can live alone and be happy, but we do need a network especially in rural areas to help us on occasion.

I have always been a loner. Being around more than one or two persons at a time is exhausting and I can't wait to get away. Seems the conversation is usually dominated by one or two. In a large group there tends to be multiple conversations going on at once. The less of these large groups I am a part of, the better. I like my own company because I don't have to explain myself or engage in meaningless chit chat. As someone said in an earlier comment, living alone one can be comfortable doing whatever one prefers--jogging, cycling, reading, cooking--and no complaints!

Oh, a date can scar you, woman can be practical and transactional too. I met an 18 year old exquisite social butterfly a few years ago, not exactly a date, was a co worker.
