So wild to hear differing opinions on the bosses in this game. I believe that you felt this boss was fair and only took 4 tries - I thought this design was absolutely terrible. Complete BS.
I'm pretty sure every boss has a grab attack, but most of them aren't important as they do low damage and have silly animations to the point where you can't avoid them anyway.
@@Tenkiei I mean mostly true. You can read the Yin Tiger's grab if your fast enough but hers just kind of comes out of nowhere. It feels like while the bosses aren't Dark Souls hard a lot of them have some really cheap tricks.
Yeah hers is totally unreadable. Yellow Wind Sage / Yellow Loong also have really hard to read grabs (especially because Yellow Loong has a different move that as far as I can tell uses an identical animation). I've noticed transformations render you immune to grabs, so I almost feel like the assumption is you immune them which is why they're not super readable. Others like Captain Wise Voice have readable grabs. Then there's Hundred Eye Daoist, who has two grabs, one is pretty readable (and hits hard) the other comes out of nowhere but isn't as damaging. I never thought I'd miss Messmer's grab...haha.
worst designed boss in the game so far. literally zero openings where you can actually do a light attack combo. the only way to actually hit her is to do heavy attacks or special moves or immobilize. otherwise, all you're doing is hitting once, dodging, hitting once, dodging, over and over again. so like, you just decided to make the game a souslike after all, devs? is it or is it not a soulslike? make up your fucking minds.
Not having room for an uninterrupted light attack combo is pretty common for the later bosses. I think this is because the devs assume you have the talent which allows you to dodge without interrupting your combo, so you go 1-2-dodge-3-finisher, or do something like 1-2-backstep-1-2. But also IMO this game very much plays like a Soulslike, or maybe more accurately a Sekirolike.
@@Serjgap that's fair but the devs have made it very clear that they don't want this game to be associated with soulslikes in any way. but that wasn't my point anyways. the reason this type of combat works in a soulslikes is that one hit actually deals decent damage. one hit in bmw however only works when combined in a combo to gain focus points to deal a heavy attack, which actually deals damage. so if you break that rule, soulslike or not, the game falls apart
No, don't use Immobilise. I beat her last night and was trying hard to do it with Immobilise. That was the mistake. Because it doesn't work well on her. You got to use Ring Of Fire and stay inside the Ring, and if possible force her into the Ring so she has no room to breathe. Then perfect dodge her attacks and attack with your Light Combo over and over. Then when your health drops low Ring Of Fire, but only when you are close to her and sip your gourd and you'll be at Max health, STAM and if u manage to stay inside The Ring long enough Max Focus. Use it up in smash charged heavy after combo. You need Tiger Tally vessel equipped and something else equipped that raises stats. Rinse and repeat this method and you'll win. Also upgrade your Gourd so it heals 40% and has 7 sips. And Upgrade your staff if u haven't to Kang Jin Staff.

the game does not need to be a souls-like or not, any game can be its own thing
