- Reassambly of the Burgess BBS20 MkII bandsaw. Most of the parts are the original ones, other than a new drive belt, screws to replace the rivets in the base and a few washers.
Replacement drive belt: 210XL037.
Paint used: Rust-Oleum Painters Touch Gloss Racing Green 400ml.

The spring should have been on the outside to give the top wheel some tension. I did mention this on your first video. Regards Dave.
lol I love the comments about 3D printing. You're right that it's expensive and 99% of the people who have 3D printers don't "save money" by printing things at home because of the initial cost of the machine. But they still have their uses for quick prototyping and general hobby tinkering if you can afford it.
Not sure the comment was fair. I don't think it's that expensive unless you are buying something like a Ultimaker or Lulzbot which is not required. John's CNC frame alone in a previous video must cost twice what my printer did. I agree people printing figurines and not designing things themselves are wasting their time. I was worried I wouldn't use mine enough but I use it all the time. I have made things like custom shelving for Tsum Tsum's, car dashboard parts and many other things I couldn't buy. Saving money also applies to other hobbies like woodworking/cnc or electronics. Ie why make the same simple electronic circuits that do the rounds on the youtube when you could buy off ebay. Why woodwork or cnc when you can buy most furniture you could make. People do it for fun and make improvements.
most hobbies dont save money, they cost more than they ever save, but its better than drinking your money away
Thank you for the video. It will be interesting to see how well the saw performs in the next video. Hopefully your work will result in a useful piece of equipment.
The spring goes outside the top as in the instruction diagram i have a pic
Nice job John. Enjoyed the video. Thanks
He has the voice of a tv weatherman!
I think I love you JW
Basically the John Peel of DIY xD
Or Angus Dayton on "Have I got news for you".
John have you found a manual or exploded diagram ? as looking at the adjustment pulley at the top I would have thought that a washer would be needed on top of the top spring so it can not exit / enter the case (I can not recall if the spring on granddads was inside or outside or two springs (was over 20 years ago now... Gee how I miss him god rest his soul)).
Hi John, could you please do a video explaining how to fill out electrical installation certificates and periodic inspection reports
Hello Mr Ward
I recently Purchased one of these, and after watching your Video i managed to get it all in working order, however I was wondering if you could suggest some replacement for the Blade guides, both top and bottom, and the Blade size , and I may be able to to purchase them from?
Thank you for you time.
Great videos, Thank you for your content.
Kind regards
Excellent video
Is that cable the tri-rated switchgear cable John?
What do you think of the use of it for fixed wiring (in conduit etc)... i've heard varying opinions on whether it's acceptable under the regs. I think the only issue might be the abrasion resistance (or lack thereof) of the outer jacket
Do you have any advice or ideas on 12v. garden lighting. I would like to replace my old halogen flood light. Spike in UK
ive tried every which way john wouldnt you think they would have put a rim on the plastic wheels thanks for replying
John great vid, just purchased a old black and decker dn 330, very similar to the one in the vid.
Wonder if I can pick your brains, how does the motor housing separate once you have removed the four retaining bolts, just twists round and can't figure how to separate it to clean inside.... Help lol thanks Lee.
For most motors the ends should just pull off once the bolts are removed. Use of a chisel and hammer may be required.
If there are wires or terminals on the end(s) then avoid turning the ends, as that will cause damage.
@@jwflame thanks for the info john👍

What you give a beautiful experience and knowledge really thank you
Ummm John... That's not general purpose grease... It's a moly grease used for assembly of metallic parts that have high contact meshing parts (tool gearboxes etc). The molybdenum disulfide will weaken the plastic. Better get some silicon or PFAE or PTFE mased lube mate... It makes me shudder watching you put it on, it's an excellent grease, just not for plastic!
But otherwise, great video, I'm really getting into your CNC build :-)
hi john i got a new blade and put it on , but as soon as i switch it on after a few seconds the blade comes of off ?????
Angle of the top wheel is incorrect.
36:08 What's behind the blurred section if I may ask?
FuzeMusic
That's the 8 bit bench
I guess green because Tangobaldy is perceptive
Why did you crimp the red spade terminals in the green side of the crimper?
Although they are red, those particular ones are smaller inside, and don't crimp properly in the red crimp jaws.
What's is the operating current when it's cutting if it's 2.5 amp no load? I guess unloaded power factor will be worse.
Will find out in the next video when the blade is installed.
@ 37:48, Is that a Hammond L-100?
M-102
@@jwflame Oh, cool... learned something new. I thought only the L series had the "diving board" levers. I'm a Keith Emerson fan and have some interest in Hammond organs. Sorry, I got off the subject of your video. 😄 I also learned a lot about bandsaws too!
Whe worst thing about 3 wheel bandsaws is that you need three hands to change the blade.
Nice job, but please paint the inside too - it will laways look bodged otherwise !
Thank you for the great video.
Sorry to see you cut your finger on something. Put something on it please.
Cheers
I was wondering about the follow-up video...
Delayed as I left the paint to set for an extra week, as it still seemed rather soft even after a few days.
