No mercy is their survival show and i.m joined them later after some members were eliminated and they couldnt approach to him because they couldnt accept since they were there before him working on missions and losing their friends they thought its unfair but i.m hadnt got an idea either the producers just suddenly put him in the show and when they got to know each other they loved each other so much :")
Romeo A. well Monsta X was formed through a survival show called No.mercy and after each mission a contestant was eliminated. All the starship trainees knew each other well and were good friends and ofc it was heart braking for thrm to see their friends go ine by one. I.M wasn't one of the contestants at first, starship decided to add him in the 8th episode. Ofc all the other boys thought it was unfair for them and the ones that already got eliminated. Nobody wanted yo talk with I.M and they treated him badly. They even said that they hate him. But after some time during the next mission i think, I.M and Jooheon opened to each other and built a friendship together. I.M even cried during the talk. It's very sad... If you want to see more just search for no.mercy. It was a pretty wild show lol but in the end I'm happy Monsta X are Monsta X ot7 how they are now.
Romeo A. So No Mercy was a 10 ep survival program, and they were going to have 7 trainees debut out of there, which is the current Monsta X. They eliminated the trainees one by one, and during the 8th episode, after one of their friends got eliminated, Changkyun(I.M) got put in the show all of a sudden. Now, alot of them were rly pissed and tense because their chances of debuting got lowered even more, and some of the trainees were already closely knit together then suddenly this boy they don't rly know well gets put in the show and lowers their chances of debut. Now, I don't hate I.M, in fact he's my bias, but you gotta imagine. They're all so desperate to debut, and they were nearly at the end, then suddenly a new obstacle gets in their way. Of course they wouldn't take it well. Well, obviously alot of them really hated him, and they kinda isolated him(?), he was sorta left out. But Jooheon and him got teamed up during a mission, and Jooheon was the first to try to approach him, try to work out their relationship with each other. Well now all of the members rly love him, they adore him.
Romeo A. You can watch their pre-debut videos 'No Mercy' it's a survival show and I.M ( If I'm not mistaken he appears in episode 8). But I highly recommend you to watch the entire episodes. There are 10 episodes and I bet you wouldn't regret it . I hope that helps you :) and WELCOME TO THE FAAM 🔥

The people who got eliminated the rest of the contestants grew very fond of them so every elimination was emotional. None of them were happy about the new addition of I.M some thought that he knew he would win or what else would the reason be to add him in later when they just got rid of some good rappers. So they were all quite cold to him.

Honestly, I feel like this song not only represent the friendship between JH and IM but also the friendship within Monsta X so well.
Like Shownu is such a great leader who, rather than being the centre of attension, supports his members from behind. And KH is basically the mother of the group; taking care of the members, cleaning etc. Each member has a significant role in the group and still All the members work so well together and this song is a perfect representation of how close they are and how much they can rely on each other; their support for each and such strong friendship despite the hardships they have faced.
This is just one of the many reason I stan Monsta X.
