I'm Guild Wars 2 main (under 30) and yeah you're spot on. I've been playing numerous mmorpgs since early highh school and none have been anywhere close to chill and friendly like GW2. I've had countless players send me items for simply asking where i can get said item for myself. Also people will park their characters qt the ends of tricky junp puzzles for whole days so anyone can join their squad and tp to them so you donnt have to stress about some of the annoying jump puzzles. Never met a mean person in-game so far.
Spot on about guild wars. I have 2500 hours in it, it's got to be the least toxic player base I've ever seen. It's almost as if everybody is super high and just chilled out while playing it But uh....that's just like...my opinion man

I stumbled across this video while trying to find something to pull me from MMO purgatory after burning myself out on Last Epoch (I need PvP). I was looking at my Steam library when the nomad portion of the video hit, and it was perfectly spot-on. Man.
A gw2 main since 2018 and yea I can confirm that community is super chill after never really fitting into a community anywhere else. It was super eye opening when I was healing for a group event and the people I was with actually wanted to help me learn rather then the tank calling me a slur before leaving the instance lol.
Funny thing is, I've been playing Runescape since 2005, but since 2018 I've been hotswappiing between ESO, WoW (wotlk), and New World, so I'm almost a bit of everything lol

This was hilarious, definitely a nomad here leaning towards Ashes like you said... Even tried both classic everquest and classic WOW to try reliving the past. Literally played every game on this list at some point, even SWG when it was first released, fun times. Not sure how you missed talking about Everquest though, so easy to rip on people who are still EQ mains. Dads who are trying to relive their old days being a teen/college student staying up all night playing EQ. But they cant anymore cause they have families, kids and bedtimes. Cant stay awake late enough to make it to a raid these days.
Its been really noticeable lately hasnt it. Everyone went from Baldurs gate 3 to palworld to helldivers 2, to whatever was after that. People just chasing the next big thing nonstop and only playing each for like 1-2 months lol

One thing to mention about Nomads. After they’ve played your MMO for a week or so, they will have become experts at the game. And they use that free time of “not playing anything” to scroll through subreddit pages and UA-cam videos, making sure everyone knows all of the flaws and how much they dislike your MMO and how it’s a dead game. Why you ask? Because they’re just bored and like to watch the world burn.

Aww you included Lotro in the list, such a chill game with the best lore out of all MMORPG's. And probably has the least predatory in-game shop. I wish it was more popular though but it has its problems for sure, mainly the lag that shows up all the time, yea kind of important for a persistent online game..
ESO has become a join a prog/trial grp for HM/trifecta, a relax and do a quest to fall asleep, and pvp when I feel angry and want to take it out on other players. GW2 to relax and have a more balanced gameplay in pvp and pve. Other than that I'm soo lost and waiting to find a mmo home. 2053 will be the year remember this!
For me, im one of the older players (34) - i played several years WoW (OG till WotLK), tried/played every MMO that is on the list (mostly just 1-3months) besides Black Desert, i played aswell a couple years when it came out and recently picked it up again, its pretty fun. But i see myself as a Nomad, because i dont really stick to one. I cope aswell regards AoC.. i dont think it will be THE MMO but i just hope it will be fun for a longer time than just the average.
Us GW2 mains just long time had acknowledged it's not perfect, but perfect for us. sorta. It's not the coolest, shiniest, definitely not the hardest or most competitive, but it's just the homiest for us and overall a nice neighborhood for our retirement house [or relaxing cabin--] 🤣🤣

And yes, i got a mail from " Ashes of creation " to play in some beta for 200$ fee, i wanted to show my size back to them, but sadly my replay button didn't work... FF14 Main here, yeah we have a "toxic positive" community for sure, I was a nomad for years, wandered between wow, bdo and dcuo but eventually landed on FF14 back in 2020 and haven't left since. Idk what it is, the world, the story, the characters and my irl friends and I raiding on patch day, just a lot to love about this MMO for me. Its not perfect but its my choice for sure. 'uwu'
I went into ESO with it being the first Elder scrolls game I've played, and I can say its my favorite overall the other MMOs I've played. not simply cause of the combat but because of the effort and time the developers put into the game. Almost every character has some type of dialogue, and path they take. if you really pay attention you can see ai guild groups teaching. the world is just so lively, and the visuals are just amazing.
Damn I want to play Black Desert Online now. I love grinding and I am totally heterosexual. If that's where all the heterosexual dudes are I want to be there.
sorry as a BDO player i missed the criticism of the game with a quick press of the R button. But yes you were pretty close the answer is pick and create hot female character so you have something to stare at for the 7 or so hours of mob grinding you will do that day.
What do you have to say about those stuck in Everquest :) I use to cycle back to that every 4-5 years for comfort but not anymore. Now I'm a nomad with not where to go and no hope for the future as I'm not on the AoC bandwagon.

I personally cant really agree on the Star Wars take. The SWTOR community is still playing to this day and having fun the only thing people would want would a graphical overhaul and the bugs being fixed other than that People are relatively happy with still sizable community that plays daily and has fun the game and the stories that still hold up super well to this day especially the ones on the Imperial side of things.

I personally cant really agree on the Star Wars take. The SWTOR community is still playing to this day and having fun the only thing people would want would a graphical overhaul and the bugs being fixed other than that People are relatively happy with still sizable community that plays daily and has fun the game and the stories that still hold up super well to this day especially the ones on the Imperial side of things.
