Lupe's like a lot of great lyricists, he's undeniably great but has no quality control. One second he is blowing your mind with his genius, the next he is saying some of the corniest stuff you've ever heard over one of the worst beats you've ever heard. Great ability, but lacks taste. Kendrick doesn't often hit the same highs lyrically (though he does sometimes), but he's got the good sense to turn his lyrics into great songs and great pieces of art. Lupe can't touch him on that.
