I mean, dude has zero golden era albums on the list, which says enough about his knowledge. Illmatic is close, like Wu but just insane to not include anything early
if you look at Death Grips as a rap group and nothing else it makes sense to say its one of their weakest, but its always had the strongest vibe to me, feels nostalgic and surreal at times with production that almost feels like an early 3d videogame soundtrack that you'd make up in a dream with its minimalistic synth production and looping composition that goes in circle.
People acting surprised that he didn't talk smack on Kanye when dude has actually given Ye alot of praise over the years, He's openly stated he loves Kanye's first 3 albums, That TCD is a 10 and one of the greatest albums of all time, He's given tons of praise to TLOP and Ye, And he gave KSG a 10 as well. Not only has Ye been acting a fool past few years but his music quality has fallen off quite a bit, Donda & Vultures were ok but sound so bland and boring compared to some of his earlier work which still manages to sound fresh to this day.
The issue isn't really that tbh and I'm not just speaking on the Kanye situation. For a couple years or so, Melon has become increasingly politically charged and he, at times, lets that COMPLETELY cloud his judgement and acts very immaturely and biased. It's come to a point where it's simply annoying and obnoxious. If you've watched the full reaction to the Vultures album, there's nothing normal about the way Anthony was acting throughout that review. He came with a preconceived mindset to simply hate on the album no matter what and that's apparent. He was legit acting very fake, obnoxious and exaggerating like 3/4 of the video. I know many Kanye fans are stupid and sheep-like btw but the way Melon gatekeeps opinions on his (and many other's) music by saying 'iF yOU LikE tHiS You'rE A moRoN' yada yada is like.... C'mon. He was never like this before and I've been watching him since I was a kid.
