I got another reason; Errinwright is such a good opponent to Avasjerala. He was a "villain" that could at some level be understood; IMO, it is easy to dismiss someone like errinwright as a warmonger, but paranoia between nuclear armed super powers is a very real phenomena and he was a very well made personification of that problem. But also, Errinwright was a real force to reckoned with and displayed such good acting skills all the way along.

#8 is one of my favorite things about The Expanse. There are no "Bad Guys", just antagonists. All the characters have valid reasons and motivations for what they do.
I strongly disagree. I just binged the series and I found 1-dimensional protagonists and antagonists galore. The characters are not very good with the exception of Amos who is completely awesome and saves the series.
You need to watch it slower next time, if you think Amos is the only character with depth. I agree that Wes is doing an awesome job with his character, he's not the only one doing so.
If mean by no changing the status quo and enforcing Earth and Mars surpremacy meanwhile the Belt struggle is really ground breaking, Holden is the perfect centrist hero, sympathic to the struggle of the Belters but not want to change the status quo. Remember when Sadavir Errinwright turned super villain at the end of Season 2? Or the fact that he totally vague about his motives to going to war for Mars even with his clear connections to a corporation? Remember when even Chrisjen Avasarala defended corporations? Even that one of them open the Pandora box and created a conflict at the solar system scale? That definitly ground breaking.
Oh, Season 5 will be seriously awesome because the stakes will be at a level we have never seen realistically portrayed in science fiction on the big or small screen.
I only discovered this series last week and finished Season 4 yesterday. This was the biggest surprise to me. I started off interested, then liking it then completely loving it by the end and left wanting more. Hands down this is the best Sci-Fi series I have seen in probably decades. There are a few qualms I have with some of the plot points but they are so completely overshadowed by what I love about it that I don't even find them worth mentioning really. The character development is superb and they don't rely on retelling the same story every season. Every time I think they must have gone as far as they could go with the story, they introduce another path and off we go again. It's so refreshing to see a real Sci-Fi show again. I can't believe it took me so long to find it. This should be on every Sci-Fi lover's watch list.
Dare you to watch it again lol no seriously, you'll pick up on even minute or finer details and clues the characters or environment give off to whatever is unfolding. I've rewatched 3x and still find new details in reactions:)
@@starsnmoon5936 Let me second your comment. The Expanse had a lot of entertainment value in a re-watch due to hindsight enabling me to see the import in what I had thought were unimportant scenes first time around. It will make you appreciate even more how immensely well-written this show has been.
Babylon 5 was the high point of science fiction for me. It has everything The Expanse has except for the special effects budget and newer technology. I love The Expanse and will need to watch all its seasons before deciding if it is better than Babylon 5.
I think another reason the Expanse is so good is because of the heavy use of real life physics when it comes to space. Obviously the Epstein drive and the high G juice is a plot device but it is still all based in real physics when it comes to ships traversing the solar system. It is by far the most realistic sci-fi show when it comes to internal ship layout, use of inertia to provide artificial gravity when in flight, the concept of flipping and burning to get where you need to go and a bunch of other really well thought out concepts they included in the show.
Real physics makes The Expanse stand out from the crowd. My first exposure to the show was a clip of the Battle of Thoth Station in Season 2. It was stunned by how epic, tense, and thrilling a fight between two spaceships could be. Another plus is The Expanse doesn't get bog down in the science. It's believable that character in-universe wouldn't offer a dull lecture on how an Epstein Drive creates gravity. The characters view an Epstein Drive as mundane as an internal combustion engine. As a result, The Expanse can focus on compelling stories.
The fact that low-gravity will affect human biology/evolution is another thing I've never considered. This show really does cover all aspects of space travel/colonization.
I am actually really surprised this didnt make the list. This is easily one of my favorite things of the show. That scene where youre on the asteroid with the detective and he watches the bird gliding around flapping its wings like a 3rd of the speed you would expect was a really nice touch. Same thing with the flip and burn maneuvers to slow down, and the unconventional ship layouts by scifi standards to take advantage of the acceleration of the engines to great faux gravity. Icing on the cake was the realistic space battles where high speed debris from damaged or destroyed ships is lethal if you are too close
@@frederickweaver2691 Great battles, the only thing that is implausible from a technological PoV (not a physics PoV) is the consistently through-and-through penetrations of projectile weapons. Terminal ballistics is a rather complex field, but suffice to say that even in modern times, there are a variety of different ammunition types for different targets and purposes. You don't want to waste most of your kinetic energy having it blow out through the back of a target, and yet you also don't want to fail to penetrate against harder targets. Against a softer target like the Rocinante, her opponents really ought to be loading something like SAPHEI-T/SD or something.
It asks the questions, it doesn't answer them for you. That's how all entertainment should be. A good story will always ask questions about the world in the effort to get people to give societal matters serious thought, but when they tell you what to think instead of stimulating your own thought processes, this is when it stops being a story and starts being a sermon.
Agreed. Anderson's speech to Miller and the Belter on Ganymede who tells Naomi "you still got work to do" are among the best sci fi scenes which ask questions, but don't answer them, ever filmed.
The Expanse is what you get with creators that are talented, immerse themselves in sci-fi and take the time to tell a good story. Shows like Discovery and Picard feel like creators unfamiliar with the genre who were there to collect a paycheck.
If you think that you hadnt seen many science fiction show, the one thing that The Expanse, Discovery and Picard have in common is never actually adressing the real issues, sure they would throw you platitudes and buzz world at you, complain that the system is broken, but they never actually do something to change the status quo or never explain why the system become this way, that what happen when you have genre that is very political since it incepcion and make it run by corporations.
@@TheKeyser94 Given the grammatical nature of your response, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and clarify this point. My critique was never about addressing social or real world issues (i.e. discrimination is bad, class privilege), while it holds no personal appeal to me I don't judge those enjoy that aspect of sci-fi. What is glaringly obvious are the inconsistencies of poor storytelling due to unfamiliarity with the source material (metal sword in a world with phasers, soap opera YA romance, Irish Romulans, the clearly 20th century vernacular). To my mind it's like a Starbucks cup showing up in Westeros x1000. :)
@@LazyDIY1 I wartched like mid season of Picard, and never, ever, adressed why the Federation become bad, just the usual thing of xenophobia and racism is bad, the obvious, duh, but apart from that, never clarifies, never explain why the Federation become this bad, and for Discovery, at least they quickly dropped the Klingon war arc when they received the rightfully critic that Star Trek is a fucking anti-war TV Show, Discovery all what it does is promote war in Season 1, but it was replaced by shallow and superficial nostalgia, they could do better, and The Expanse is huge pile of nothing, totally empty of any kind of ideology or philosophy whatsoever.
American Ben, if you love the show, you'll be blown away by the books. People complain about season 4, but an understanding of season 4 is critical to understanding the stakes behind what's to come. And as the saying goes, "you ain't seen nothing yet". I've read all 8 books and I'm waiting with baited breath for book 9, which, sadly, is suppose to be the last in the series. Also, the actress who plays Bobby Draper is a trained competitive amateur boxer which is why she throws a punch like she knows what she's doing. She does.
Right hooks are easy to dodge unless there's multiple blows coming at once. Good form stance but the only reason she'd get away with it is cos she's the sergeant.
As a long time Babylon 5 fan, who had been putting off watching The Expanse, I must say... This is the best sci-fi/space opera, I've seen since, well... since B5 (probably better, but it' been my benchmark story-telling for over 30 years.) The Expanse has advantages that JMS could have only dreamed of, and from the writing on down, they consistently nail it. Glad I waited, so as to watch 4 season in a little over a week, no drop in continuity. Looking forward to season 5.
I wrote this 2/15/19 on Facebook. ""The Expanse" is arguably the best science fiction series that I have ever watched. It has everything, mystery, romance, political intrigue, people you don't expect to die, do, people you want to die, don't, and space! The comedic elements run the gamut from bathroom to very cerebral. In all, it is a well thought out narrative on the human condition. With a nice twist at the end."
No galactic voids or racing around the stars or interstellar travel - this is set in our solar system (at least the first three season) and all the places they go and see are REAL. On of the directors who was new to the show, ask why Eros looked that way, it wasn't right - then someone pointed out that the picture of eros he was looking at was a REAL picture and that Eros was a real place - and that's how it actually looked. Would have loved to learn his reaction. This basic grounding in reality is one of the things that make it great!
Yassss! Thanks for the upload! This show has dominated my quarantine experience. And I agree, when Ashur shows up things get good. I hated the guy in Spartacus, but I realized that he's just that good of an actor. And I love how Amos is just the right amount of detached sociopath to be lovable. Looking forward to more of your Expanse videos.

This show looks really cool, and I’ve been meaning to check it out. Fun fact- the awesome Canadian prog-rock trio, Rush, in at least two of their albums, feature a spaceship called the Rocinante flying around space and eventually into a black hole. That’s MY reason #11 to watch!
you forgot Camina fucking Drummer. shes my favorite character and the reason i will never watch it with the german dub. the Belter slang and especially when she talks is way to awesome!
I started watching because i heard that it was really scientifically accurate. when the ships stop moving > there's no gravity; if they stop moving to quickly > there's a whole lotta you all over the inside of the ship; those born in lower gravities can't handle higher gravities. that was what got me to start watching
A oasis in a sea of shit! That is perfect. There is so much sci-fi out there; BAD sci-fi, everytime I get burned watching a show (Netflix's Lost in Space). I turn back and rewatch seasons of The Expanse and I am happy again. The science of the show, the writing, the characters, the acting, and the look is what every hardcore sci-fi fan wants. Good video.
Book 9 supposed to come out this year 😎 show is finished up to around book 4 you think it’s good now lol... just keeps expanding, gets better and better can’t recommend enough reading these books. Compliments the show so goddam well
Went looking for this comment. Read the books, they fill out so much that is missing from the series. Series 5 and 6 are going to be interesting, anyone that has read the books will know what I mean.
My friend and I stumbled across the Expanse when looking for sci-fi shows to watch, not having even heard it existed, sometime during the airing of Season 2, and now both of us have read all of the books. The Expanse, along with Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica, are by far and without question my favourite things ever. For anyone who hasn't read the books, has only watched the show, or just started watching, all I have to say is keep watching, things are going to get wild.
So glad someone else loves this show. I cant get anyone to watch it because of the first 2 episodes are kinda slow. But is soooooo good. Makes me wanna learn belter but I would have no one to speak it too. Good video 👍🏾
As a die hard Star Trek fan, who also watched Star Wars & Battlestar Galactica, *The Expanse is the best of them all.* It starts off with a lot of world building, which some may find tedious at first, thinking this is bathroom break dialog. Only to realize you need to re-watch those episodes later, after realizing this is a well written show, not filled with fluff, to satisfy subscription quantity episodes.
Hahaha I LOVE this video so much!! And I love you for the Nick Taraby shout out! Still bitter about losing Cotyar. I needed wayyy more Team A B C! I was a fan of the books first, but the show gives me everything I'd hoped for when reading them, and hoping someday we'd get an adapt. It's the series I'd been waiting for since I was 10 yrs old. Glad you finally made it aboard Ben! Welcome :)
I am a " Firefly" addict and I only watched the first 3 episodes of Expanse before I got bored and switched off.. But now, I just ordered Series 1, 2 & 3 today based upon this video.... I am looking forward to see how this show evolved.
One of very few TV shows that I have rewatched multiple times. Bearing in mind how young it is that's even more a sign of the sheer quality and depth of it. It genuinely REWARDS rewatching. So much depth as well as utterly awesome characterisation. I love the fact that space actually feels dangerous and that the protomolecule is so alien. We are watching a true classic being made much like the protomolecule making the gate and who knows where it will take us?
My two fav characters are Klaes Ashford and Camina... whereas the rest of the belters drive me nuts these two are great characters and actors. The dynamic between them is 10/10 enjoyable in every scene they have together. They both have this super high intensity esp Camina that's really impressive and it translates well to the way they act out the characters. Amos is a close 3rd.
Simply the best science fiction series ever. As a physicist I especially appreciate the attention to detail associated with respect to getting the science as accurate as possible while maintaining the pace of storytelling. Absolutely the best.
I think you may have overlooked a big point... scientifically speaking it’s the most accurate sci fi show possibly of all time. Inertia is real, gravity is a luxury, water is the most precious resource etc
the Expanse, dethroned DS9 as my favorite Sci-Fi Show by a long shot. And those who've seen DS9 know how great it is. My heart still beats for Trek, because I grew up with it, but my mind can't let go of the Expanse, I'm so excited for S6!
@Daniel Schulken Just finished Wrath. Excited and scared of the next just coz it will end the series :/. Hopefully guys will expand it in the same universe.
my major complaint with the show is more a quibbling over the fact that the aesthetic was altered in places here and there... mostly because they had to, I know.... The Belters' very obvious physical look was obviously going to have to change (I am assuming that Hollywood isn't busting at the seams with seven and a half feet tall emaciated people to play all the belters floating around...) Dominique Tipper is WAAAAAAAAAY too short to actually be Naomi, but since she acts THE HADES out of the role, I'm not complaining... just an example of how things had to shift. I felt like Holden and Amos were both aged DOWN from how the book described them, but I might not be remembering that just right. A bigger complaint again is the way the book sort of took a, I don't know, bottom to top approach, in showing the plot unfold which helped pace it better than the show pulled off... I think it's just a difference in medium playing out, but it's a major reason I like the book better than the show. Like I said, it's mostly quibbling, and understandable... every person everywhere should watch the show.
@@rhoetusochten4211 Alex was definitely supposed to be 35-40. It might make sense though because it's relatively advanced future so aging could be treated away.
There's a scene or two where they've put in the work to show a fully stretched out belter (suspected saboteur) captured on Earth. I think the way the show portrays people so they look normal to each other makes it more relatable. @@TealJosh Alex does actually look forty, if you've halfway looked after yourself.
That is the sole reason I tell people first to watch the show get the picture and then feel the real thing and get blown away by how books kill everything that the show didn't quite manage to capture
American Ben, Superb video. I was first exposed to the show when I saw a clip of the Battle of Thoth Station in Season 2. So, I decided to give The Expanse a shot, but was disappointed by a slow beginning in Season 1. However, by the fourth episode, I saw all the setup paying off and I was hooked. Thanks for the shout out to Nick Taraby, who I never heard of until now. What talent! I'm definitely following this guy's career. You also zero in on how The Expanse uses story to make the audience asks questions instead of being preachy. That's another thing that quickly appealed to me. Finally, the protomolecule is the most brilliant twist on alien tech and first contact with aliens I've even seen. So, welcome to The Expanse, and I look forward to more videos.
The characters are my main reason for adoring this series! Amos Burton is my favorite character in all science fiction! Then Camina Drummer, and Bobby Draper! The the actual physics of space travel! “Flip and burns” and high G maneuvers are absolutely terrifying! The Expanse is my favorite sci-fi series EVER!
@@MarkSmith-pb2xn that's actually what happened to a friend who really loves BSG. I liked how it started mainly because I heard how realistic the show was going to portray space and how things would work in space. So I really don't mind how it begins.
Thanks for posting this episode! I love The Expanse and I think it's waaaaay underappreciated. Keep up the content. P.S. Nick Tarabay reminds me of Temuera Morrison (aka Jango Fett). Both are hardcore dudes in-universe and have a certain swagger to them.
13:54 in ss3 they killed 2 million people & in the ss1 fenale (as I'm pretty sure you you watched) it actually showed what happened to the people on Eros, ain't things like that dark enough for ya
The political messages are nuanced and not just these people bad and these other people good, it’s more like the real world where the people who crave power are the ones who wind up oppressing others, and it doesn’t matter what their social strata, race, or place of origin is, those who seek to be in control are the ones who should never be given power
OMG, you are the first reviewer I've seen who recognized the influence of Robert Heinlein's Starship Troopers on this program. Higher stakes? Have you watched the third and fourth seasons yet?
I LOVE The Expanse! I have watched Sci Fi since the 60’s and this is the greatest show I have ever seen. The books are fabulous as well. Thank you for your coverage, I hope it brings more viewers to this under appreciated gem.
The Expanse is the most profound sci-fi ever screened. Aside from the realism portrayed in space scenes, the actors all seem like real people, with real emotions and motives.
It isn't woke and at the same time, have very badass and very well written female character that aren't badass because they are female but because they are really well written and played.
Watched the show, read the books and then watched commentary like this to relive it all again. I always thought I was a Star Wars person. I know now that I am an Expanse person to the core. One more thing. I always thought Gaius Baltar had an awesome arc of hybris/fall/redemption. Amos has indeed one of similar magnitude from psychotic beginning to finding a moral compass in others, to developing his own guiding moral sense. It was a joy to watch.
I agree and I would add... inertia. The fact that gravity and changes of direction have serious effects on passengers makes space so much more real, difficult, dangerous and exciting.
@@GenerationFilms I would like to recommend the channel "Spacedock", Daniel the creator and main host of the channel worked closely with the Expanse team to create many info pieces about the ships of the universe.
I was actually on book 3 when they announced they were filming season 1. They did an excellent job with it but as usual if you like the show you'll love the books. So glad Amazon picked it up after SYFY dropped it.
I JUST finished it and it's honestly the best sci-fi show I've ever seen. It was right up my ally. The writing, especially for the characters, is top tier and the world is SUPER believable.
As someone who hasn't seen even a single episode or trailer, this to me look visually like a precursor to halo. The proto molecule makes me think of the precursors or the flood.
As I listen to you rave on about the Expanse, I then reviewed my experience of binging the series 4-5 times; also as a delivery driver Ive listened to the books the same amount and each time I discover new threads and nuances. Ill probably listen again soon.
Thanks for the comment, feel free to check out our other vids on the Expanse, you might find them interesting! I'd be interested to hear your feedback given how well you must know it by now!
One option that most people immediately reject when confronted with interpersonal conflict is to pull out a gun and shoot the other person in the head. There are probably a lot of good reasons to reject that option, especially if you live within the strictures of a law-abiding society. Amos lived outside that society all of his life, and he continues to do so in the violent world of The Expanse where being part of a crew of a nuclear missile-equipped Martian stealth destroyer insulates him from the legal consequences of shooting people in the head. It helps with the "love Amos" ethos that he has not yet shot anybody that didn't need to be killed. We all love instant justice. It is heart-warming in a world where actual justice through the court system is either not obtainable, or something that takes years to play out.
Welcome to the churn beltalowda! Great too ten to make the case for folks to check it out. Hopefully in the lockdown it find more viewers as we all want for season five.
Not enough risks? !!!! SPOILERS !!!!Holden and Miller almost die from radiation. One crew guy gets his head blown off. 150 people killed on the Cant. Julie Mao? Thousands of Belters die. I could go on, but I don't want to bore. I know what you meant, but
Yeah, if you're not taking in the amount of realism injected into the show, you not getting your moneys worth in this series. It's like watching a James Cameron film and not commenting on the special effects.
@@rodrigobogado8756 Absolutely, but so are the characters in The Wire, What makes The Expanse so unique and necessary watching is the detail they put into the environment.
Agree. It’s literally like being infected with joy and hunger for more episodes. I recently did a burn from season 1 -> 5 over a 4 1/2 day period. After season 1 episode 4, I knew I was hooked. This show is a rare gem among 1,000’s of rocks. I may have to re-watch it all again before the 6th and final season starts soon.
Looking underneath the hood, The Expanse is at the beginning powered by a mystery story, or, to be precise, two mysteries. What happened to Julie? Who nuked the Cant? The mystery format is not everyone's cup of tea. Let me expound a bit. Another format might be, for example, the evasion format. You are shown the bad guy within the first few minutes, and the entertainment value therefore cannot be in trying to figure out who the bad guy is. Instead, it is in trying to figure out how the bad guy will evade exposure and capture, and how the good guys can possibly find him and apprehend him. The "evasion format" can be a much more action-packed adventure, filled with elaborate traps and escapes that always end up showing the viewer lots of action sequences. The mystery format typically plays mind games with you, hiding clues here and there, and, if well written, giving you a fair chance to figure everything out. The entertainment value is in the figuring out, not so much in what you see displayed onscreen as producing a lot of endorphins after an adreneline rush. So, many people will not be entranced by the first three episodes of The Expanse. Maybe they are cleaning up the kitchen with the TV on and trying to catch a space battle out of the corner of their eye while doing so. Or maybe its been a long day at work, and the last thing they want to do is anything that requires yet more intense observation and quick thinking. Or maybe they simply do not like the mystery mode of entertainment. Episode 1.4 is where people finally get the battle scenery they have been craving, and it sucks in a lot of folks who were on the verge of quitting the show after 1.1-1.3 had failed to keep their attention. Those of us who were intrigued from the get-go with seeing the mysteries solved, would be hooked from the beginning of the show, and find it hard to understand the indifference of others.
I agree with everything but Holden is not one-dimentional. He's got a lot of insecurities and other features seen rarely in such characters. He's got a great arc. I find him a very refreshing lead.

Now that you watched it go get the books or audio books and you will see that show is just a tip of the iceberg compared to what books have to offer
I also like that the stories are different in each season. It's like real life that way. Everything is each year builds off all the years before.
Babylon 5 was the high point of science fiction for me. It has everything The Expanse has except for the special effects budget and newer technology. I love The Expanse and will need to watch all its seasons before deciding if it is better than Babylon 5.
"Imma take my pet nuke for a walk" is one of the best lines in scifi
I love when Bobby and Alex are arguing, James Saya "well this is going well" and Amos says "the Martians are bonding". Kills me every time.
Against a softer target like the Rocinante, her opponents really ought to be loading something like SAPHEI-T/SD or something.
its just fantastic, you got it my friend
It asks the questions, it doesn't answer them for you.
That's how all entertainment should be. A good story will always ask questions about the world in the effort to get people to give societal matters serious thought, but when they tell you what to think instead of stimulating your own thought processes, this is when it stops being a story and starts being a sermon.
Well said, Joshua. That's what impressed me about The Expanse, which became my favorite show, period.
favourite show man it was really good and also up to date
Agreed. Anderson's speech to Miller and the Belter on Ganymede who tells Naomi "you still got work to do" are among the best sci fi scenes which ask questions, but don't answer them, ever filmed.
sadly, this is what happend to most of todays movies and tv-shows, the art was turned into propaganda

The Expanse is what you get with creators that are talented, immerse themselves in sci-fi and take the time to tell a good story. Shows like Discovery and Picard feel like creators unfamiliar with the genre who were there to collect a paycheck.
It doesn't hurt that it is based off an awesome book series.
@@Metallic-Sun I was just about to say the same!
@@LazyDIY1 I wartched like mid season of Picard, and never, ever, adressed why the Federation become bad, just the usual thing of xenophobia and racism is bad, the obvious, duh, but apart from that, never clarifies, never explain why the Federation become this bad, and for Discovery, at least they quickly dropped the Klingon war arc when they received the rightfully critic that Star Trek is a fucking anti-war TV Show, Discovery all what it does is promote war in Season 1, but it was replaced by shallow and superficial nostalgia, they could do better, and The Expanse is huge pile of nothing, totally empty of any kind of ideology or philosophy whatsoever.

season 4 is critical to understanding the stakes behind what's to come. And as the saying goes, "you ain't seen nothing yet". I've
read all 8 books and I'm waiting with baited breath for book 9, which, sadly, is suppose to be the last in the series.

Great punches, terrible push-ups tho. Maybe I'll check out the books thx dude. ✌🏻

Good form stance but the only reason she'd get away with it is cos she's the sergeant.
Chrisjen is, also, very tame compared to the books. But she certainly comes alight in the 4th season. Love the interaction between her and Amos.
Aye on that!
Babylon 5 is my benchmark too.
Season 5 and 6 are fantastic too!
"Needs more risk/consequences." Oh you sweet summer child. Season 5 will be amazing.

I started watching because i heard that it was really scientifically accurate. when the ships stop moving > there's no gravity; if they stop moving to quickly > there's a whole lotta you all over the inside of the ship; those born in lower gravities can't handle higher gravities. that was what got me to start watching

My friend and I stumbled across the Expanse when looking for sci-fi shows to watch, not having even heard it existed, sometime during the airing of Season 2, and now both of us have read all of the books.

And since Earth was smitten???
my major complaint with the show is more a quibbling over the fact that the aesthetic was altered in places here and there... mostly because they had to, I know....
Holden was youngish, but ... my mind is blanking... the pilot... good grief, i need to watch/listen to audiobook again.... he was older.

How the hell is the Expanse slow? Hmm...Tales from the Loop will be glacial to you. I loved both from the beginning.
I agree. I don’t find Holden one dimensional at all. He has a great character arc, but it’s very subtle. He’s a great character imo.
All I need is season five...
I am so glad I didn't give up on this show. We are all privileged prime picked up the show. Hands down my favorite scifi show can't wait for a new season.
As the Humanity first handbook verus 20-a-1 "Its okay to test on aliens.
You are so right! There is no better Sci Fi show out there. I have always said "Star Trek is the future people want. The Expanse is what they are going to get."
