Such a fantastic video!
Would love to see more Expanse content by ya'll.
My faves(books and series) are Amos and Avasarala, of coarse ;)
Thank you!
You sir have manifested my thoughts with your amazing video about The Expanse.
@@aaronmathias6739 I second that..... Brilliant summation on the best Sci Fi series i have ever watched in my 59 years.
Great show when it comes to physics of space. Except one thing... Radiation. Sorry but base on Io? Prolonged stay near Jupiter or Saturn?
One other thing. The Expanse is smart. And it assumes the viewers are smart as well. It doesn't dumb down the content.
But, after reading the books, I discovered, sadly, that it has toned down a lot some of the more horrific scenes caused by the protomolecule
@Keith J, yeah well said. No raven timetravel, no dragon teleportation, and no 360 no scope ballista.
@Rising Horizon Gaming Excellent point.
And not in the Stephen Moffat kind of "If you don't get it, it's not a plothole, you're just an imbecile" smart from Doctor Who.
I think the show has done a pretty good job of dropping story hints and details about space travel physics just when we need that info, and not be too overwhelming.
@@veranicus6696
Unfortunately, they have sped it up and done far too much time compression, to pack more into an episode. It destroys the whole feeling of distance and... space. The Ganymede slingshot was atrocious - a gravity transfer through the entire system, in probably a couple hours of in-universe time 🤦 They really blew the writing with creating that situation for it to have to happen that way. That wouldve been a lot cooler as a 'bottle' episode. Or, even just for it to have taken place as one of the parallel stories, over more than one episode; which would've been very easy to fit into that particular storyline.
* The Maneo slingshot would've been an awesome standalone episode, to give a little glimpse of what its actually like. Just 45 minutes of baratna strapped into his chair... in the dark... occasionally whistling... and turning off alarms 🙂
The show started so nice, but it was too slow for the SyFy instant gratification junkies. Science fiction vs sci-fi. I sincerely hope Amazon takes a step back with it, but fear the opposite will happen. I would be thrilled to be wrong and have Bezos insist on *more* accuracy, being a space guy and all.
Amos is my favorite character by far. He may not be smart or cunning or eloquent, but he's honest. Both to others and to himself. He knows who he is, and he is indeed "that guy."
I like him too, but he scary.....lol. Would not want him as an enemy.
Amos is a complex guy!!! No one messes with kids when he is around! Have you read The Churn? It goes into his past and it was dark...
Amos was hurt as a kid and it shows...
@@tarkajedi3331 No, I've not read any of the books, but I can tell he has a very dark pass.
In books Amos is goated
I prefer Miller. To bad Miller is dead. Or sorta.
While Amos is THAT GUY, my bias is and always be Camina Drummer. She ma bosmang!
BELTALOWDA forever!
Team Detective Miller here, but Drummer and Amos share a close second place. Remember the Cant!

Drummer didn't even spin da drum. That was all Ashford, he was the only one who was proactive about the slow zone situation. Give the pirate some credit.

Why Sci-Fi fans love The Espanse?
-great story
-great,complex characters
-great worldbuilding
-great cgi/production values
-great acting
-emphasis on realistic physics in space(the effects of zero gravity for example are shown, like wounds not healing in zero G conditions etc.),there are no layzers, energy shields or shit like this.Technology is relatively crude and based on real life conceps, like the railguns that they use in space battles.(the US Navy actually build a working prototype of this weapon, but it's a long way from beeing widely used yet.)
-no bullshit technobabbling, like for example in STD,everything is explained so that even viewers who aren't into sci-fi can understand it and it's again based on real physics.
-no virtue signaling and SJW bullshit, despite the fact that the cast is super diverse.
The female characters are strong, capable women, who can kick ass and pilot/repair ships just as good if not better than the males, but they don't make a fuss about it,they just do what has to be done and the men aren't portrayed as mumbling idiots,in order to prep them up.
doubleP definitely agree: thats the way to go when its about strong women and diversity, not that artifical sjw bullshit
@@harryhaller9670 Hear hear. characters matter not shallow characteristics.
great cgi, NASA has great cgi too, that's why you think this fantasy world is real
There is SJW stuff in The Expanse but it's done correctly. It's not preached to you and lets themes evolve with the characters and evolve with what we see on screen, if that makes any sense. I think where the show really succeeds is it doesn't insult the viewers intelligence.
Saying SJW sounds so stupid!
The Expanse is Polyglottal, Mandacious and Ubiquitous.
Donkey Balls, Hoss
(Yes, I’d be Alex Kamal. And I dig the Martian’s single purpose)
Ok fella. Be the character- not the actor. You’ll be ok
IMO why it's popular: it's plausible, it looks like how expansion into space WOULD really look. It shows human nature very accurately. It shows politics and misunderstandings as they happen in real life, and the role of the military and it depicts societies in very plausible ways. It even shows how spin and the media and ideology distort the facts of situations so it's incredibly timely. It's not idealized. It's not unduly negative but after watching a few episodes my feeling was "yeah, that's about how it would be. 30 billion people on drugs and welfare on Earth. Mars is lean and hungry like Starship Troopers. The belt are a bunch of skeevy edgy weird skinny dudes." And the science fiction isn't very fictiony. The scientific insight that the show is written with is amazingly accurate, such as when Prax discusses how fragile a closed ecosystem really is - you just don't have much SF that gets that granular and accurate. But the cast, story, and plots are so good that even this level of science fiction becomes a background. It's just a perfect show in every way.
Yeah Prax is a really good character, especially because even hard SF that tries to adhere to realistic physics can get pretty handwavy about biology.
Excellent description!
no it's not! outer space is more land on the flat earth, we are on a infinite plane
It's not, actually, no genetic engineering or thorough cybernetics. Especially given that it has humans living in space.
The ability of making Ceres spin to 0.3g alone is way more energy than +7 billions uses every year, so 6 millions should live pretty well.
There should be no energy shortage even for 30 billions. Water recycling, as exist on space stations today, means no water shortage.
But the effort is good, far from mediocrity.
Don't come down on me too hard, but I never got into this show, . . .this video, and your comment definitely intrigue me, I will catch up on it soon😁👍!
It's better than GoT
BY FAR
WAY BETTER.
Yup, not even close. Hehe
I love both but GoT is still superior
That's too far. But The expanse is amazing.
You asked who on the Expanse is my favorite character. Well, I cannot answer that. I love the entire cast of characters.
What about the Belter language? Kind of an important feature of the show.
No. It's the new Klingon. Anyone who uses it is a complete nerd, and a detriment to any hope of the show growing beyond its current popularity.

Just absolutely Love the character, and shohreh really makes her come alive!
She does what *She Gawdamn likes* 🔥
The best thing about the expanse is the science is based on real physics. I can watch Star Wars or any other sci fi without thinking it’s a bit far fetched.
It’s a great show but it has ruined other shows for me.
The human science anyway outside that shit gets wierd.
sci fi, is supposed to be science fiction, not actual science

This show completely blew me away on my first watch...Great CGI, great characters, great science and complex storytelling...absolutely amazing
Cas Anvar deserves a bigger mention for his role in getting S4 with Amazon. Great show!
The Expanse is a great SciFi show! I don't have a favorite character. They all are great. Thanks for the video, keep up the great videos!
a flat earth show could be sci-fi, this is fantasy

Amos is my favourite. Because ... he's _that_ guy.
I'm honestly surprised that Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 90% score. Usually they hate everything good.
wait a minute...
*Usually they hate everything good and popular. The expanse is not popular.
@@tagnetorare5401
This is sadly true. It's a show which demands some effort from its viewers and most people don't expect to make any effort when it's TV.
ya,they pretty much get their likes as to what people like so people pay attention to them....they're a joke and not reliable for an opinion in my opinion, they should judge cartoons
They usually hate anything that’s not Disney
I love the show because it's literally based on factual human mentality and because it shows every aspect of human nature and unlike the GoT writers these writers know how to tell a complete story development with exact proportional character development.
Especially as each season is a complete story in itself, sort of anyway.
Thomas Delgado the expanse is a faster paced season 8 of game of thrones.
yeah, well they have the books, wait till the show surpasses the books story, then it might end up like GoT
Great writing and great actors, period.
Ita a great show because it is just damm good TV, the actors the sets, the writing just a all round great piece on TV
And it will get better being an Amazon production.
Alex is my favorite. The guys always trying to keep everyone together.
Gunnery Sergeant Roberta "Bobbie" W. Draper is my most fav character. I; an Earther, would defect and follow her.
Absolute cutie!
Yeah, Draper is pretty good, and one of the most admirable.
Detective miller is and always will be my fave character. I like game of thrones but the expanse is one of those shows where I truly feel joy whenever I hear news about it. I recently bought the books for when I go overseas. That moment when the donnager flew over the knight I was hooked.
I love the Expanse but the thing I love most about the Expanse is how they just absolutely nailed Drummer & the OPA.
It just hit me that one guy made this happen. Not a board or anything. One dude. Thanks Jeff.
It was a wise decision. Made me get Amazon Prime.
Two major error: S4 premiere date is not yet set (So no info about November)
And book wise the end is very much in sight, ninth and last book is on its way and will most likely be released within a year.
However, it seems were getting short novels without end in sight. Already 5 or 6 are out. Same authors
That said, it's very possible to see more come that's outside the main arc. Hardly the first time it happened.
@@FelipeKana1 One novella left and one novel left in the series. Thats it. The novella arrives in the end of this year and the novel sometime next year.
One small detail but also big at the same time... the fairly realistic representation of g-forces. I geek out every time it comes up.
In terms of favorite character... def Amos followed very closely by our favorite former MCRN pilot. Amos has grown so much and has turned into a reliable, no bullshit, enforcer.
1320crusier “he is that man”
Recently found the show and am on my second viewing of the first three seasons. This show may become my favorite show of all time.
Miller, I love all the characters but Miller is the man. Down and dirty. Gets it done.
A hallmark of a great science fiction is that the scientific part is very integral to the storyline, as if to become an invisible actor that plays a crucial role to drive and direct story progression.
Avasarala, Bobby, Amos
- Avasarala, because this "oncouth lady" is just too much fun. She's sharp as a knife, charming as a princess and stubborn like... Avasarala :D
- Bobby, because Bobby. Sorry. Bobby.
- Amos, because - obviously - he's that guy.
Great show to watch! thx for the video about it.
I LOVE The Expanse!!! It was so easy to get sucked in. It's superb story telling. Did anyone notice Adam Savage on the Venus ship!? Awesome. My favorite character is Christian. I adore the actress who portrays her.
These mini documentaries are so good. Keep it up! Maybe a series on Farscape? Just an idea :) Love you guys.
Chrisjen Avasarala? I like her dry sense of humor/sarcasm and the delivery of those lines too. One of the examples of a powerful female character without it being brawny. And she has her flaws too nd isn't a superwoman.
OMG !!! I totally agree with you!!! Her character is the smartest person in the room and cuts through the "¤%&"¤%&
Adam is a huge fan and has a bunch of behind the scenes stuff and interviews with cast and crew on his channel.
Why i love the expanse. The cast, the story, the universe! Its phenomenal. I am a big sci fi fan and the expanse is the best sci fi series for a long time.
What other sci fi series do you like?
James S.A. Corey is the pen name of Ty Franck and Daniel Abraham.
Ty was the personal assistant to George RR Martin and Daniel has collaborated with George on several novels in the past. So, yeah... GoT in space! :)
Yeah, but after the final season of GoT this is no longer a compliment :)

No it's a simple statement of fact. But unlike GOT ( and BSG another show it invites comparison with) The Expanse has competent show runners.
I was just looking through prime, and came across this. Never heard of it. I watched season 1 in two days. I'm on season 2 now. Love it.
The quality. Great writing, story, characters and the actors to play those roles. Like the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica. Not just great science Fiction, but a great overall show.
The first two or three seasons (as far as I remember) were great for me but as the show progressed I found that the quality decreased. Really dumb mistakes were made and such. Also first some more fillery just to make a rushed ending did leave me some sour taste in my mouth.
Amos and Bobby are my favorites. Amos reminds me of Jane from Firefly, only with a lot more integrity. I like that he is there for people who can't defend themselves.
Love this show and love the fans. Don't ever cancel the show Amazon it's the only reason I subscribe to Prime!
Same here!
Same!
One of the best shows i've ever watched (one day i'll get my hands on the books too).
Still cannot get my friend to watch it.
The story starts with a slow burn that doesn't help, but the universe takes a bit to explain. They almost need a improved begining season a 0.5
Try and find a second friend :)
My friend told me to watch the show. I saw the first episode. Was not impressed by the pacing and writing. I read the books. Watched second episode. The books are WAY better and the show is borderline insulting in its terrible claim to be an adaptation.
Thea Lucas please shut the fuck up

Now now. Let them talk. Then open the airlock.
Very late to the party but currently inhaling this masterpiece in sci fi. The world and characters feels so real and fleshed out. Watching it feels like I'm actually experiencing these events unfolds. Really makes you grateful that you're alive to experience this monument to human achievement.
There are so many favorites from the core cast that it's really impossible to shoose one above all others. But among the secondary cast, I found Cotyar to be the most interesting. Such a fantastic character and his interactions with Avasarala and Draper were endlessly entertaining.
The Expanse is one of only two or three shows I've wanted to own. It you haven't tried it you're doing yourself a disservice.
The Expanse is a series that has it all: from production values to writing. But, as most stories that captures us do, its biggest strength is in its characters. It makes you care for them, or hate them or love them or anything in between. Even the less important characters have enough writing to make them interesting at the very least and relateable at best.
Fave is, of course, MILLER.
"shit just follows you around kid, doesnt it?"
favourite character ? Camina Drummer, of course... and Joe Miller with Octavia Muss
Chrisjen Avasarala (in the show). She has all the best lines. I've just started the book, loving it just as much. I'm going to be reading them like a steady intravenous fix until season 4 because the withdraw is killing me.
I liked when Amos started calling her Chrissy. She replied: Goddamit, I'm the Secretary of the U.N., not your favorite stripper! Amos: can't I have both?
She's mine too, but Joe Miller was my fav at the beginning.
"like a steady intravenous fix"
Same. GIMMIE DAT JUICE
Having read the books before watching the series, I must admit to being a bit disappointed with Avasarala. She is a much more 'earthy' character in the book and she's been cleaned up too much for the show.
Other than that, absolutely no complaints. It's a masterpiece.
Avasarala is better in the books. Everyone and everything is better in the books.
I was at my cousin's yesterday and was on his Prime and watched most of season 1.
Anderson Dawes. His presence, strong actor performance. Please develop his character. The actor deserves more.
Mary Poncho
Very true. It's impressive when even minor characters like him have so much presence.
the actor is too expensive (lol) for the show probably, thats why he was only in few episodes
"Game of Thrones in space" sounds like an insult to this series after the final season of GoT...
Yeah, but it once stood for something.
And the production parts (music, costumes, acting etc) are still good for GoT even if the last season sucked writing-wise.
One of the book writers used to be GRRM's assistant, that's why he's a big supporter of The Expanse.
@@doublep1980 and because the Expanse books are fucking awesome.
It’s faster paced game of thrones season 8 in space.
@@csehszlovakze would you recommend them after someone has watched the show? I'm very much a hard sci-fi fan (Asher and Banks being my favorites) and this series has been a breath of fresh air.
Holden: Amos, are you sure you're cool with me being together with Naomi?
Amos: Yeah it's cool she's like my sister you know...I'd still do her if she'd asked me to.
Holden: Well I am glad we had this conversation (Why do I not feel like the winner here?)
Best show on TV.
earth is a infinite plane, outer space is more continents, the NASA Universe is a lie
Amos is the Man. Extremely loyal and ready to die for his crew.
it is not complicated... it is good story. Story is everything.
Which character is your favorite?
Me : Yes
I can only say that after viewing the series 3 times, I bought and am reading the books. That's how much the show touched my heart. It honestly leaped in joy for a possible positive future for the human race many times while watching. The GOT series was good for the most part... except for the end, but it certainly did not do that that for me.
Best character is Comrade Anderson Dawes... For those who get it 😉
His moral ambiguity is done with such brilliance 💛
Jared Harris is great.

The actor is superb. He makes one strong on screen presence. They need to develop him better.
I didn't get it and you didn't either ... cause it's not there.
I have yet to see a single episode but I love love love the books and have been listening to the audiobooks. I'm already starting book 8.
Bring on Season 4! #Can'tWaitForExpanseSeason4
Bobbi Draper and Amos are my favorites, but with so many great characters - the line of favorite is quite small.
it's a clear fact that these companies need to catch up to the fact that just because a fanbase has small at the beginning if it's critically acclaimed other people that never watch the show will come back to it.
And in the long run they will make their money back in spades.
but instead we have short-sighted executives looking at the short money not the long-term think of it firefly went for five or six seasons.
is a syndicated broadcast television show that people wouldn't have an opportunity because of how broadcast syndication works to see the show when they have time but with streaming it changes the entire dynamic.
and these companies are so short-sighted they judge TV shows on the popularity at the time and not what they will be over a long period of time.
Thumbs up if you agree.
That wouldn't have made any difference in SyFy's case. They only made money for live viewing and DVR viewing within 5 day of first airing. They didn't own the show.
One of the reasons the characters are so good is we clearly understand who they are and what their motivations are (or at least who we think they are - it would be boring if nobody had any deep dark secrets). We spend time getting to know them - their experiences, their morality, their background, and nearly all the time their choices and actions are rooted in who they are, rather than just something that needs to happen for the sake of the plot. It makes the whole world extremely convincing. Me, I really like Prax, because he comes across not like a typical TV & movie scientist, but more like the actual scientists I know.
Yeah, the flaws of the characters keeps them grounded in reality, compared to those flawless characters in other series.
The mystery, the drama, the characters are grounded in reality, etc. So much to like and something for everyone
Excellent overview, I haven't seen the show but now I'm intrigued, thanks~👍
The sci-fi mystery aspect isn't overdone. It's the kind I like.
Thomas Jane's acting is top notch.
You are right...it’s the deep meaning and interwoven story that keeps us hooked. It’s a great show and look forward to the fall.
The Expanse is the best Hard Scfi Show in the world.... only matched by Battlestar...
This is no idle claim. Without a doubt it is something special. Trek without the avert optimism!
The Expanse can now take us to new worlds and Amazon now has my money !!!
Saving a show that means so much to us all and delivers real drama, action, suspense, scfi and stories that matter has caused me to sign up to Amazon!
So why is The Expanse the best?
Is it the acting or directing? Is it the Actors? Is it the special effects and getting the science right? Is it the story itself? Is it the politics and real world significance? Is it the culture of the Expanse? Is it the drama?
The answer is all of the abve and more. There is nothing worse then poitics preaching in a show, just look at the new Doctor Who! It is hated because of the politics!
Then look at the Expanse. The politics is not told it is lived and breathed - woven into the fabric and is not controlling the story. The Belters, Martians and Earthers all have serious tribal feelings for each other and the other factions. The Rosci is so successful because the crew overall see past the "%&&"¤##¤ ...
Each character is explored and over the series we fall in love with each of them as they react to impossible situations.... They love and betray and protect each other.... They are family!
No spoilers I promise! Every character is amazing because of all the pieces coming together!
Why is the science so important?
The Expanse is Hard Scfi because it sticks to our current understanding of Physics and Science taken to logical conclusions. The Expanse creates drama from a Flip and Burn!!!!
I cannot say more then obviously i was devastated when I heard it was being cancelled. This was heart breaking! When it was taken up I felt relieved because the books have so much more to give.
The Exanse creates a world that is rich with lore and language and love. The Actors honestly give performances that are special. They would get together on their own time and they honestly have brought I think part of themselves to the show.
The cast of the Expanse is incredible, the writing is genius and the direction award winning!
If you have not binged it yet I suggest you do...
Excellent podcast.
BSG was/is not hard sci-fi, it was a hybrid, leaning more towards soft sci-fi than hard. The Vipers and Raptors had to contend with Newtonian physics in space, but all of the ships had artificial gravity and instant jump drives
@@Ken-lv8ej Excellent comment... that is a hard one... What was great about Battlestar is they made great pains to get the physics of space right - You are right though... It probably has crossed over into Soft Scfi in many ways... it also had some fantasy elements like Star Wars....
Thanks for your thoughts I agree...
Hard Scfi is hard to do right and what makes the EXPANSE so strong is how hard they work to get it right!
Firefly is better
I'm so glad I stuck with the Expanse until
Season 3. In the first two seasons I wasn't a major fan of the writing; but the
world building was so well done and detailed that I stuck with it regardless.
Now it seems like the show is firing on all cylinders.
Greatest sifi saga to date. The show, the books all of it incredible.
I so love this show, I watched it every week.
Great show, even better book series...everything about it just works!
Very well done video - a big thank you!
The Expanse is the best show on TV, hands down. Avasarala is my favorite character, but I relate most to Holden & Nagata.
It would be terrific to see The Podcast produce more videos on The Expanse. I'd particularly like a short spoiler-free video (S01E01 clips okay) that would help convince ordinary viewers to give it a try; including some guidance on pace & watching, like the early S01 slow burn, the shooting & airing of 'blocks' (e.g. S01E01+2, S01E9+10, S02E1+2, S02E4+5, S02E12+13, S03E01+2, S03E12+13), the supposed S01E04 hook (I was intrigued enough at E1 to keep watching), an S01E06 milestone of viewer's investment in characters clicking, and the S01E08 landmark of threads coming together.
Great advice... All of season 1 is world building and character building all to the end episodes that blows us all away!!!
I loed the battle of the Donager! Incredable! Miss the Donny!
David Hart Better call Saul is the best show on TV right now. The expanse is shit compared to the books.
Favorite character is Amos. You think he's a thug, but he is probably the most complicated character and well portrayed by Wes Chatham. Also, I found I liked Roberta Draper a lot more than I expected. Again a stereotyped character is given depth by the writing and a great performance by Frankie Adams.
Maybe someone said this below, but it’s really set about 400 years in the future...200 years after the discovery of the propulsion system that opened up the solar system and enabled Mars to declare independence.
Joe Mancini Yes I was thinking about this aswell.
I just started watching this. It’s fricKing AMAZING. And I can’t believe I hadn’t heard of it before.

Okay! I’m someone who saw this “Popcast” and went... What? When? Where? Damn! I’m a SciFi cowboy, an original 9.8.66 TOS Trekker. Both Battlestar’s... Myriad others. And cut my teeth on the foundational... root of quality science fiction... Forbidden Planet. (Yes, I’m OLD!) And deeply embarrassed that I missed this fascinating fan favorite. I feel like I'm invited to write stories again because of this show. It is that fresh to me and full of mystery again. I love it.
Great summary on why this show is loved. I pretty much like all the characters, but if I have to pick then it's a toss up between Cotyar Ghazi and Anderson Dawes. Both shine in whatever scene they are in.
"What character is your favorite, and why is it Amos?"
I've watched the series through 8 times from start to finish, and I haven't ever done this for any other tv show ever. I've also read all the books too and I love them just as much, and maybe even more than the tv shows. I can't frickin wait for season 4! The answer is because it is amazing
The expanse will be successful as long as it isn't flooded with known movie stars trying to ride the money wave. I appreciate the everyday people that make up its core. That's my opinion.
They haven't put one foot wrong in casting yet (ok, sure, Alex is a little too handsome, and Naomi is too short, but they weren't gonna find somebody who looks exactly like how Naomi is described in the books). I mean they even found somebody who could convincingly play Bobbie Draper.
@@ericjamieson ok, maybe I should've worded it, "stay successful".
@Rob Mart oh for sure, just wanted to say that the casting has been beyond impressive so far. I do hope they give Patton Oswalt a small cameo since he's such a huge fan and is always promoting the show.
Your voice is amazing
Thanks! You made my day :)
I love that in this comments section there is such variety in people's favorite characters. Goes to show just how good all the characters are, not just one or two likeable ones
Christian Avasarala is my favorite character, although it is so hard to choose! Miller, Holden and Naomi are close to my heart as well. And who could resist Drummer!
Too hard to choose just one fav character. They are all fleshed out so beautifully. I even liked the characters that were killed off, and wish they could have been around for a few more seasons. That way it could add even more layers to character interactions.
I’m gonna give it a try
I knew this series reminded me of a movie. Outland, 1981, with Sean Connery. Seems to have a similar look and feel. Still a good show, from game to books to series. Nice video guys!
A nice summery.
tie between chrisjen, amos, and bobbie they’re all so fun to watch
I'm a GOT fan looking for a new show. Started watching and we shall see.
Same. I've just been looking for something good to watch since GOT. ST came and is already over and this looks cools too so imma watch.
@@rivvy2138 I'm slowly watching ST because i want it to last. Lol
You won't be disappointed. It's a bloody brilliant show!
If you watch all of the first 4 episodes you'll be hooked.
Avasarala is my favorite character m for sure
Expanse Ruuules!!! awesome character arcs, gritty action, interesting political undertones.
Gritty? Oh you're going to love season 4. :3
