Id live to see a 2nd Generation 58 Big Bore Renegade (Percussion cap) with a rich Black Walnut stock like the originals had. Ive got 2 of them, And would love a 2nd Generation to add to the collection.
I want to wish Greg Ritz success with this endeavor to revive Thompson Center. I met him years ago on a hunting trip and he is truly a high caliber person and leader!
I’m so excited to buy my first Thompson/Center firearm. It’s refreshing to see American companies making quality products, American labor, American quality, American pride!
Same here! They said they would have some carbon fiber wrapped barrels. That might be interesting with a muzzleloader or a pistol such as a 41mag. I’d also like to see a high performance muzzleloader in 45 or 40cal.
I am so thankful that a good American is taking over TC. I don't want to always be buying CVA, and now I can hopefully get some replacement barrels for my TC renegade!
I have had a first generation Contender (the one with the cat on it) since 1980. I bought it used. Numerous barrels and shot everything with it from squirrels to deer to handgun silhouette. Please bring these guns back and keep them going. I have seen you in past on old hunting shows and so I feel like I kinda know you. I hope the government will leave you alone. They are into everyone who builds a gun now days. Best of luck and keep them coming...
Finally a good news story about a lost icon. Welcome back and best wishes for a new chapter in the T/C story. Let us all know when the new completed items are available for purchase.
Glad to see T/C coming back to Rochester, NH. When I was there in the 70's to mid 80's seeing the development of new products was the greatest experience anyone could have. I was in the testing dept. They made a great product. Well wishes to the new adventure.
Welcome back, I'm excited. I have owned a Contender Gen1 for decades and now have an Encore as well. Great guns! One thing I would really like to see from the new Thompson-Center is a rear stock with adjustability (cheek comb and/or overall length) to allow for more comfort, precision, and for different sized shooters. Could be wood, composite, whatever, but I have not found one yet that is adjustable.
So glad to know you’re bringing it back. I own 3 encores one with a 4 digit serial number, bought it when they first came out. Muzzle loading pistol barrel, probably the rarest TC product. Any plans to release them again?
I have a pair of Thompson Contenders and I absolutely LOVE them. I have had them for over 20 years. I also just scored an old T/C Hawken .50 Cal rifle...found it buried in an old gun shop with lots of dust and grime. Cleaned it up and it is as good as new. I am so glad you guys are coming back! I am enjoying these update/how it's done videos too!
Awesome job going through and showing the process. I had no idea it was that complicated. I have a TC Encore from the late 70's and a TC Renegade I bought from and antique store recently.
This is so awesome! Such a large part of my childhood coming back to life. Watching so many hunting celebs shoot Thompson Center, my Dad selling them in his old gun shop... it's almost emotional to see.
THANK GOD T/C IS BACK. I was worried I would have to get another brand muzzleloader for my grandson's first gun. Many a whitetail have fallen to my T/C Omega.
It is so good to see the return of an industry icon like this.. especially back to where it belongs! Wishing everyone the very best with this endeavor!
Thank you so much for bringing this company back. The new product videos are fabulous. I will buy a new one when they come out. You guys should acquire the Ruger Old Army percussion equipment too lol . Take care.
This is awesome that you are showing the process with us. Please don't don't producing YT videos. Getting the viewers involved is what's going to bring it back to life. I can't wait to purchase more barrels and other new items that may come out.
Man I can still smell the foundry at the old TC plant. The guys pouring the molten metal in this vid deserve a massive raise! It's such an insanely hot, exhausting and smelly job.
It's cool to see the injection molding and other processes at work. Can't wait for the products to hit the shelves. I'm already bugging my gun store. Lol
@@tombogan03884 I worked there in the early 90s as an expeditor counting and keeping track of parts plus making sure assembly had the parts they needed at their stations. I remember the wood shop and also the custom area where they carved intricate designs into the stocks. Such an amazing thing to have TC back!

I just hope that the Pro Hunter line will return, exactly as it was before, with fluted barrels and Flex Tech stocks. Anything new on top of that is great too of course, but just being able to buy a new Encore Pro Hunter SS with black flex tech stock and 28” barrel again…..man….that gets me excited.
Can't wait to get me a brand new TC encore prohunter pistol in 270win and a prohunter rifle barrel in 300mag. I want to be one of the first to support this proud American company and their awesome employees. I will keep and cherish this Prohunter for the rest of my life too. I'm sure I will add more afterwards as this is just the beginning of my support for this great company. Long Live TC firearms.
I’m pulling for you guys! Keep it going. Thompson Center quality and interchangeable barrels has always been the reason I’ve bought the weapon systems.
Pretty cool to see that process, I am very excited T/C is back. Hope it won't be long before they come out with a 450 Bushmaster barrel for the pro hunter.
It's great to TC coming back online. I have two Contenders with barrels starting at .22 LR and topping out at .50/70 Govt. The .50/70 is a JD Jones concoction. Throated to handle .50 cal. 750 grain BMG slugs. I also have two TC Muzzle loading rifles. One in .50 and the second in .54. I made many wax injection molds for a local machine tool company over the course of about 8 years. I also spent almost three years repairing and building induction heat treat power supplies, the induction coils and the vertical/horizontal scanners. The equipment is much like your induction casting furnaces. I would love to take a tour of your facility sometime. Please keep doing the informational videos, a lot of people were very disheartened when S&W shut TC down. Best of luck
Please make encores for traditional, full bore bullets. Big bore - .54, .58, .69, .72, and DEEP, slow twist rifling, AND capable of using standard percussion caps.
What a process, really impressive. So much work goes into making a great firearm. I feel fortunate to own a few of these guns. Those 2 men working around that molten metal are truly special.
I’m delighted you are able to save T/C. Bought a Hawken in 1971 followed by 2 Contenders & a Renegade. All exhibited outstanding craftsmanship & 1st class materials.
I’m loving this! I come from a family that has hunted with contenders then to the encores since I was a kid. Can’t wait to buy more. Life long tc lover.
Thxs Greg for taking the risk of bringing back T/C. I'm sure yer getting hounded hourly for this and that. The only thing i'm gunna ask is that the tradional muzzleloaders be brought back, the hawkens, cherokees, senecas, big bores and especially the patriot pistols. Again thxs for your investment into an American icon. Keep on huntin when you can.👍👍
I love it! I've got a lot of tc products, several traditional muzzle loaders, an encore with a slug of barrels and a stainless contender pistola 😊 I think my first aquasition is going to be a blued contender g2 frame to mate with my 25 bullbery imp barrel 😊
I have 2 pistols, a T/C Encore in 44mag 12 inch and a CVA 350 14inch. I have the same optic on both. The TC is a lot better than a CVA. I want to buy another encore frame for another pistol. So i cant wait till you are selling them again.
I got a compass 2 on clearance for $400 last year, great wee rifle once i took out the stock spacers to shorten the stock, very accurate, well i shoot better with it than i could with my old rifle. Good luck TC
All the science, technology and processes and it still comes down to really good people doing a very good job to make it all come together. Thanks for sharing part of the production.
An updated and revamped Plain Jane, muzzleloading sidelock hunting rifle in large calibers for hunting big feral hogs, elk, moose, bison, big black bears, and defending oneself from marauding grizzly bears while mule deer, moose, and elk hunting would really be nice. There is no need for fancy bullets or Blackhorn 209 because there's nothing that a stoutly built, heavy barreled muzzleloading rifle that is charged with traditional black powder and that is pushing a .58 caliber, or larger, pure lead patched ball won't kill in North America. It would be especially nice if Thompson-Center would completely redesign the flintlock locks for their sidelock rifles. There's been a terrible shortage of percussion caps that doesn't seem to be getting better any time soon, a well-designed and perfectly functional flintlock would allow people to hunt when percussion caps are scarce and increasingly expensive.
Have had my tc encore 50 cal muzzlelaoder for over 20 years and in need of a barrel after many of years and many deer. In glad TC is back and hope i can get a fresh barrel and keep it going alot longer.
I will be ordering one of those Encore frames soon! Could we see some new artwork on the frames? I would love to get some laser engraving, or old style cast in art of big game on frames from the factory.
First I will say Tyler is underpaid. I don’t care what he currently makes. Give him more. You also need to have someone younger work along side him. Years of Tribal knowledge you need to pass along for this company to survive. Lots of old equipment in this video and lots of people touching the product. You being an Engineer by schooling I’m sure this is driving you crazy. Not sure if this was a good investment but I will enjoy seeing the changes. Looks like you have an uphill battle to grow this company. Best of luck.
Loved working at the foundry wax room ,dip room , casting , knockout ,saw room, heat treatment, then finishing, hard but satisfying wook ! Southern Tool Oxford
Please bring back the traditional line of T/C muzzleloaders!!!!!
I would love a TC Hawken!
I enjoyed the Thunder Hawk in my 20s, it is why I have an Encore today, .209x50!
Amen. I have a .54 Renegade and a .50/12 ga. New Englander (interchangeable barrels). How about a trade-style flintlock?
Id live to see a 2nd Generation 58 Big Bore Renegade (Percussion cap) with a rich Black Walnut stock like the originals had. Ive got 2 of them, And would love a 2nd Generation to add to the collection.
Amen TC hawkens , i loved that sidehammer😊
I want to wish Greg Ritz success with this endeavor to revive Thompson Center. I met him years ago on a hunting trip and he is truly a high caliber person and leader!
I've used a T/C Encore for years and love the product. Very happy to see the efforts to save this company.

Amazing work! I love it. I remember the old Encores, and own an old Big Boar. I may have to get me a new Encore if I can!

I started my muzzle loader journey with a Renegade, and bought an Encore in 1996, shoots as good today as the day it was new!

I can't wait for the new products to be available. I'm a huge fan of the encore and contender. Can't wait to add new ones to my collection! Thanks!!!
This is a fantastic story and I wish nothing but success and I am excited to get an encore pistol when they become available 🤞
Thanks for keeping the updates coming, Greg! I enjoy seeing how T/C is coming back!
My TC is a Triumph Bone Collector, which is a really nice rifle. I wish all of you folks the best of success.

Thank you, I'm very excited that you are fired back up, my son is getting very interested in the T/C line
Thank you for bringing manufacturing jobs back to Rochester NH!
Happening fast once you got started. Makes me happy to see that T/C is back great firearms and customer service
T/C has always been a preferred consumers choice, so this is exciting. They will dominate the market once again.
It is so good to see the return of an industry icon like this.. especially back to where it belongs! Wishing everyone the very best with this endeavor!
That is insane! Get Mike Rowe in there to do a "Dirty Jobs" episode.
Glad to see this part of the operation is running. This is an easy skill to loose. Charles
Great to see there is still people doing hands on work.
This is great! Glad you have a-lot of the original work force! I see a real Contender in my future! Are you going to release some Encore bbl.s?
Please bring back T.C. everything on gun broker is insanely expensive! I absolutely love everything about T.C,and have since the 70s.
Thank you so much for bringing this company back. The new product videos are fabulous. I will buy a new one when they come out. You guys should acquire the Ruger Old Army percussion equipment too lol . Take care.

Absolutely exceptional firearms and most importantly the AMERICAN WORKERS AND OWNER that keeps this tradition alive. THANK YOU ALL.
Welcome back T/C. We missed you! 🙂
