I've said it before and will say it again, THANK YOU FOR BRINGING BACK T/C. I've owned a T/C omega for over 20 years and it's never failed me. It's my go to hunting gun.
I hope you succeed more than any other firearms manufacturer in America. I love Thompson Center arms. Something special when you take a single shot TC rifle into the woods, you know you better be on your A game. 1 shot 1 kill
I was a QC inspector in a manufacturing plant that made extremely similar products. We used many of the same machines. Watching this I could almost smell the combination of raw steel, coolant and oil again. I'm happy to see T/C not only back but American owned. Good luck T/C!!
Precision Machinist for 48 years and I can't say enough good things about the accuracy we've been able to obtain with GM barrels. Concentricity between bore and rifling is fantastic along with uniformity. TC and GM is a fantastic team for American firearms.
What gun manufacturers use these barrels?? Palmetto state armory has been coming out with a lot of new guns and I wonder who does their barrels?? They may do it themselves not sure. But I do know the quality has gotten better. I’m also a CNC lathe machinist with about 20 years in myself.
Green Mountain makes excellent barrels, always accurate. Pretty cool seeing their factory in operation. TC made the right decision buying their barrels from them.
My Thompson Contender is a great example of 'they don't make things like they used to', and personally I think it's one of the many forms of perfection. Can't wait to make more UA-cam content with it.
The second I can purchase a Thompson Center Encore pro hunter, I'm buying one! Then I'm giving my son my Thompson Center Triumph Bone Collector. I'm so incredibly happy that you're back!!!
My biggest request from the new TC company is replacement barrels and parts for their legacy muzzleloaders. I have a renegade .54 with a ruined bore, and it would be great to have a brand new barrel with the ability to swap to 209 primers. Thank you for taking on this great American company!
Well, given that this was filmed at the Green Mountain Barrels factory in New Hampshire, so they're probably TC's barrel subcontractor, and they're well known for high quality muzzleloader barrels, you should have no problem getting a replacement. Good luck converting a sidelock to 209's, though. Sounds like a pipedream.
So as another person just replied to your post. There is a a few other options to get away from those pesky small percussion caps. And in the process give you better ignition. 1. Is switch over to "Musket Caps" this just involves switching out your current nipple to the larger Musket Cap Nipple. Yes they will use the same thread size and pitch. The other option involves switching over to a different and larger nipple that will also direct replace your OEM #11 nipple. This is a two piece nipple with a large pocket that holds a 209 style primer. And then you screw on the top that has a machined firing pin in it that your hammer on your traditional side lock strikes just like a #11 cap. Yes, you have to unscrew the top half to load another live primer into it every time you reload. But thats the price you pay for the hotter ignition of a side lock 209 system. Is this worth it??? Well Yes, Especially since we no longer have the Traditional Black Powder made by Gorex anymore. And the only black powder replacement thats currently on the market is harder to ignite. Will a Musk cap ignite this powder?? Yes, We haven't had any trouble using Musket Caps with it. But the #11 caps?? We are seeing a significant amount of issues with ignition an this powder. So thats all I've got for you. Hopefully this helps. And I 100% agree, and would also LOVE to see some OEM replacement barrels offered for certain old model TC Muzzle loaders. Ive got a 58 Renegade "Big Bore" Percussion cap that id happily buy a OEM factory replacement barrel for. The previous owner shot it, And left it for a long time. And failed to clean it, and its pretty pitted and nasty.
I have loved shooting my TC rifles for decades, and I look forward to doing it for more! What I enjoyed most about these videos of yours, is that the viewer can absolutely see your passion for the product and the utter desire to provide those of us who purchase it, to be completely satisfied! That alone inspires confidence in a product. I look forward to eventually getting one of those 360 Buckhammer barrels for my Prohunter!
So stoked to hear TC is back and that hopefully in 2026 we’ll see traditional muzzleloaders in production again. My dad passed me down his late 70’s renegade and I have a late 90’s Hawken. Would love to gift him one when they are back on the market. Just listened to “I love muzzleloading” podcast with Greg Ritz and seems like the right guy with the right values for the job. Really looking forward to picking up a new Hawken or Renegade flint!
I gotta say, you guys are knocking it out of the park making interesting content on this channel. Gregg is a really compelling presenter. It's making me really excited to see the new TC stuff hit the shelves.
I really like this series that shows us what go's into a gun. Can't wait to see what else you bring to the channel. Very informative, at least to me anyway. Thx for the vid
Easily got my Thumbs up! Was no stupid or redundant music. Got to hear many of the realistic sounds of the machinery, people, and processes. Narrated by a real person and none of that LAME ai stuff. Provided a lot of detailed information which made it interesting to follow along to see the progress. Thank you!
Here in the UK I have six barrels made at the original factory and they still do the job if I do. Example 300H&H 495yrds took a Wyoming pronghorn for me. Best wishes for a bright successful future.

Great video. Thanks for the attention to detail. I own a couple of Thompson center rifles and so do my kids. I hope you bring back the Dimension. I have 3 different calibers and would love to see you continue to make more barrels for this rifle. I also have an encore with a black powder barrel and a single shot 308. I love your R5 barrels. Thanks for sharing.
Can’t wait to see your new rifle. They need to have high quality iron sights. We also the 7/57-8/57 -303 British-264 WM-375 HH and others. Please put iron sights. Drilled and tapped.
.303 would be interesting if for no other reason than it would make a 7.62x39 barrel possible. I hand load subsonics and a suppressor ready barrel would be a hoot on a Contender. That couldn't be done by T/C because all their .30 caliber barrels had the same .308" sized bore, like all their .22 caliber barrels had 1/12" twist rifling no matter the chambering.
@YakubibnEsau I had to suppress it... Requirement from the game farms where i hunt. 338WM in a total light platform... Kicks hard but "bareable", coupled with a suppressor 👌I can carry it for many hours walking and stalking. So overall a great combination of power and comfort!
Excellent video, after watching dozens of videos on rifle making, I now know the details of the processes. Just subscribed and looking forward to all of you upcoming videos.
T/C barrels are good barrels, I build barrels and I also rebore barrels and my favorite ones to rebore are TC .50 muzzleloader bore and rifle for .54 they cut beautifully. Traditions barrels are terrible to cut they just scrape and tear, TC barrels just cut nice clean ribbons, I can only assume this is due to their heat-treating process. definitely superior barrels.
I saw a distributor had the muzzleloader barrels for the G2 (which would fit my G1's) for a short time and have kicked myself many times for not snagging one when I could.
I really wish you guys well. I would love to see the Encore come back and for you guys to have a custom order shop with barrels up to like 34-36 inches available. I’d love to run a long fast twist muzzleloader and a 30 inch single shot 7 PRC that has amazing ballistics
Great idea by showing your business as you learn it. Great attitude and treatment of workers. Probably a great work environment. Hopefully discount on barrels for workers 👉👈
So in 2018 I inquired about a "Match Grade 223 Wylde 20" AR-15 Barrel with a Full Length gas system to start the build for my Coyote Rifle. I won't mention the name or where it was made. But ill say this, I spent more on it than what most high end Complete AR's sell for. Was it worth it??? ABSOLUTELY... I had got the 1-8 Twist to utilize the 55 grain and up larger .224 bullets. Now I hand load and load my bullets out closer to the rifling. However its SCARY how accurate this barrel is with just about any Ammunition loaded into it. And it REALLY LOVES the larger Serria 77gr BTHP bullets. And will shoot groups at 300 yards that you can compete with "F Class" shooters at that distance. So yea, In my mind the barrel is the most important part to the rifle, Followed by the trigger and then the optic.
A shooting buddy at our Gun Club just recently got a SSK Custom Stainless Steel 14.5" Encore Pistol Barrel chambered in 350 Legend for Ohio Whitetail. He had Open Heart Surgery a few yrs back. And recently had a pacemaker installed. So shooting large Caliber long guns is off the table now. So we got to talking, And this is what we came up with as a way to get him back into the woods and enjoying hunting again. We only have a 200 yard range. And with the Scope he mounted on it, He's able to group rounds in just over a 3" group just shooting of a sand bag and a Harris Bipod mounted on the front forend. Its not 300 yards and not a Big Bottle Neck round. But its Ohio legal and is getting him and others back in the game.
TC has always had accurate guns! Can't wait till to the new stuff come out! And I'm kinda hoping to see some new bolt guns to compete with the other companies. Maybe like packable folding stock warlock? Just maybe? I can hope.
Does this mean the new T/C barrels are going to come from Green Mountain? I have one of their barrels as a replacement on a Model 92, 44/40 rifle and it's been great.
❤Keep the process you have don't replace them hard working women and men with automated machinery. Robots can't buy your products ask the big three how many robots bought their vehicles? This is just awesome and nostalgic 💯
Greg , please make an affordable product. I am a disabled veteran and love to shoot. Can’t work an action because of my shoulder injury, hence the single shot platform. But I cannot afford $1000 frames and $1000 barrels, it’s crazy! Thanks for your time.
@bennyfisher4415 you dam right and I made a bad decision and sold mine tried to buy it back but the guy fell in love with it after getting a buck during hunting season !
Good evening. Great to hear that T/C will be back in production. I was just wondering if you are going to bring back the T/C bolt action rifles as well?
I've said it before and will say it again, THANK YOU FOR BRINGING BACK T/C. I've owned a T/C omega for over 20 years and it's never failed me. It's my go to hunting gun.
my omega has over 50 one shot kills in that same time
I hope you succeed more than any other firearms manufacturer in America. I love Thompson Center arms. Something special when you take a single shot TC rifle into the woods, you know you better be on your A game. 1 shot 1 kill
T/c is good old iconic New Hampshire company . Very glad you decided to bring it back here!
I was a QC inspector in a manufacturing plant that made extremely similar products. We used many of the same machines. Watching this I could almost smell the combination of raw steel, coolant and oil again.
I'm happy to see T/C not only back but American owned. Good luck T/C!!
Thank God this great company has been revived! Thank you for your efforts in bringing it back.
Precision Machinist for 48 years and I can't say enough good things about the accuracy we've been able to obtain with GM barrels. Concentricity between bore and rifling is fantastic along with uniformity. TC and GM is a fantastic team for American firearms.

Green Mountain makes excellent barrels, always accurate. Pretty cool seeing their factory in operation. TC made the right decision buying their barrels from them.
I am very happy Thompson is back! My bone collector muzzleloader is fantastic!
Truly love seeing these old machines still working for all these years. You'd be hard pressed to find anything built with that quality today.
It's great to see you back at it with TC, Gregg! Green Mountain really makes some great barrels!
My Thompson Contender is a great example of 'they don't make things like they used to', and personally I think it's one of the many forms of perfection. Can't wait to make more UA-cam content with it.

Thank you for taking on this great American company!
Brand new barrel, probably yes. Ability to swap to 209's, probably no. Side hammers weren't designed to set off primers.
Theirs actually a kit to do it . Lot been done all ready in revolver and side lock rifles and side lock shotguns.

Thank You Sir for not only bringing back the brand, but the education along the way!
It’s evident by all the comments that these videos are really getting the consumer pumped up about the return of TC!
I can’t wait for the Encores to hit the Market!
I just bought another G1 & 22mag barrel this evening been shooting T/C for 20some years Greatest gun maker ever
This is awesome!!!!! I can't wait!!!!! OH YEAH!!!!! This Screams America!!!!
Yes it does. "Merican Made and Prode of it"
Nice to see Thompson Center back in NH !!! Now they can go back to turning out quality products again
I loved GM barrels when Midway used to sell them. I can say that I never got a bad barrel from Green Mountain.. but as a Vermonter ... You're in NH😮
So stoked to hear TC is back and that hopefully in 2026 we’ll see traditional muzzleloaders in production again. My dad passed me down his late 70’s renegade and I have a late 90’s Hawken. So glad TC is back!!! Please make the 20 ga turkey barrel and 460 rifle barrel!
YES please I NEED a good 460 barrel I love my revolver but when rifle season comes around I want a stock to fully use it.
As a tool maker and machinist and shooter, I really appreciate what you're doing here.
I love my G-1 early 1970’s receiver and barrels.
TC is back🎉🎉🎉
So glad to see the TC back!!! I have so many I could make a museum!
It’s amazing that they can drill a hole over twenty inches deep and it still be concentric.
I love the old age of these machines. Don't fix what isn't broken
Cool to see old school manufacturing shops still operating in 2024 where there are employees and not only automated machines.
I really like this series that shows us what go's into a gun. Can't wait to see what else you bring to the channel. Very informative, at least to me anyway. Thx for the vid
+1 On that. Well done, And its GREAT that they are documenting the "Rebirth" of TC.
Need to get the barrels back on the market along with the frames and socks... make Thompson center great again!!!
Easily got my Thumbs up! Was no stupid or redundant music. Got to hear many of the realistic sounds of the machinery, people, and processes. Narrated by a real person and none of that LAME ai stuff. I always loved seeing people shape metal and use precision tools to do it.
Here in the UK I have six barrels made at the original factory and they still do the job if I do. Example 300H&H 495yrds took a Wyoming pronghorn for me. Best wishes for a bright successful future.

What an eye-opener; thanks for the dive into barrel construction.

Simply outstanding! Welcome home.
Owned TC’s since 1992 when competing inIMSHA..
Im glad they're making it apparent to their future customers that qc is tight
Definitely on 7x57 8x57 even 6.5x57 9x57 9.3x62
Glad to see y’all I love my TC Compass II! Wanting a newer model though.
I love my T/C 338 WM! My go to rifle!
How bad is the kick on that?
@YakubibnEsau I had to suppress it... Requirement from the game farms where i hunt.
338WM in a total light platform... Kicks hard but "bareable", coupled with a suppressor 👌I can carry it for many hours walking and stalking.
So overall a great combination of power and comfort!
@@321ror thank you for answering. I shot a .338 once when I lived in Alaska. It wasn’t bad, but it was a heavy rifle!
Excellent video, after watching dozens of videos on rifle making, I now know the details of the processes. Just subscribed and looking forward to all of you upcoming videos.
This is very interesting
I am absolutely thrilled you guys and gals are back! I love your products!
T/C barrels are good barrels, I build barrels and I also rebore barrels and my favorite ones to rebore are TC .50 muzzleloader bore and rifle for .54 they cut beautifully. I second many comments here. Very happy to see TC back. I would love to see the TC NewEnglander mz brought back too.
Rooting for you all!
Please make octagon Encore barrels....that would be an awesome option
I wish you all the success in the world, I own 4 TC. 3 Hawkins and 1 pistol. Looking forward to getting a few more.
What an awesome story, I want you to make it bigger , better then ever before. Well done Greg..
It'll be great to get a couple barrels for my Encore rifle.
I saw a distributor had the muzzleloader barrels for the G2 (which would fit my G1's) for a short time and have kicked myself many times for not snagging one when I could.
Such a nostalgia trip for me... Thanks Gregg!!
I really wish you guys well. I would love to see the Encore come back and for you guys to have a custom order shop with barrels up to like 34-36 inches available. I’d love to run a long fast twist muzzleloader and a 30 inch single shot 7 PRC that has amazing ballistics
Order one today! You’ll get it sometime next year.
Great video. T/c is back ❤. Can see 400 ledgen and 360buckhammer rifles and pistols and new flintlocks and some new bolt guns .
Great idea by showing your business as you learn it. Great attitude and treatment of workers. Probably a great work environment. Hopefully discount on barrels for workers 👉👈
Fascinating video! I would love to see a long version even more detail.
One of my go to guns for hunting is the T/C Black diamond .50 caliber muzzleloader. I use Minie/burton balls that are home cast.
Both my TC Encore muzzleloaders are top notch rifles.
So in 2018 I inquired about a "Match Grade 223 Wylde 20" AR-15 Barrel with a Full Length gas system to start the build for my Coyote Rifle. I won't mention the name or where it was made. So are you talking like several thousand for a barrel??? Wow I had no idea they were that much.
Love all these how it's made videos.
I wish you all the success in the world. Please give us competitively priced barrels. I'll take a factory 15" .360 BuckHammer Encore pistol,Please.
Love the comeback! I want a ultralight carbon fiber pistol that can shoot 300 yards.. would be the ultimate backcountry setup
A shooting buddy at our Gun Club just recently got a SSK Custom Stainless Steel 14.5" Encore Pistol Barrel chambered in 350 Legend for Ohio Whitetail. He had Open Heart Surgery a few yrs back. Green Mountain does yalls barrels…… that’s pretty cool!
Your video quality is very very nice brother ❤❤❤❤
TC has always had accurate guns! Can't wait till to the new stuff come out! And I'm kinda hoping to see some new bolt guns to compete with the other companies. Maybe like packable folding stock warlock? Just maybe? I can hope.
Hope the quality and some of the early model muzzleloaders make a comeback!!
I cannot wait to buy one.
Looking forward to seeing your firearms on selves soon.
I can't wait to buy my first (new company) TC rifle, I'm hoping for a falling block
Thank you. Nice tour.
Thats cold how it's done, would be cool to make my own barrel.
So I take it we’re gonna see Green Mountain barrels on our new Thompsons?
Can’t wait to order my new barrels.
Does this mean the new T/C barrels are going to come from Green Mountain? I have one of their barrels as a replacement on a Model 92, 44/40 rifle and it's been great.
Awesome love TC!!
Thanks for a wonderful and informative video.
Very impressive with highly skilled professionals. I didn't see very many young operators. It's sad we can get them to learn to work these jobs.
Looks like you have a pashiant staff who knows their jobs to provide high quality work/products.
Love this engineering 😊
I would like to know when can we expect to see new product from T/C? I am waiting to buy a new 450 Bushmaster barrel for my pro hunter.
I do not own any Thompson black powder rifle, but I do think they are the best on the market…🇺🇸
The legend live on,
This is what a shop that does the work looks like. None of that clean rows of unused milling machines.
❤Keep the process you have don't replace them hard working women and men with automated machinery. Robots can't buy your products ask the big three how many robots bought their vehicles? This is just awesome and nostalgic 💯
I don't understand how flutes can increase the stiffness of a cylindrical tube.
Great operation !!
Quality machines from what I saw
Greg , please make an affordable product. I am a disabled veteran and love to shoot. Can’t work an action because of my shoulder injury, hence the single shot platform. But I cannot afford $1000 frames and $1000 barrels, it’s crazy! Thanks for your time.
Hey while you're at it I need another Venture 300 win mag rifle, I sold mine and I can't stop kicking myself !
I have one. Tack driver! ❤
@bennyfisher4415 you dam right and I made a bad decision and sold mine tried to buy it back but the guy fell in love with it after getting a buck during hunting season !
Please make an American ultralight rifle to compete with tikka.
He mentioned it on a podcast with Hornady about making a 6 Lb rifle for backpack hunters
What passionate people!
Good evening. Great to hear that T/C will be back in production. I was just wondering if you are going to bring back the T/C bolt action rifles as well?
Interesting stuff, for sure.
Been liking these videos
I had a chance to visit Beretta production facility in Italy
Totally another planet
So they're all going to be green mountain barreled?
