This has always been Cole's way of trying to prove his greatness. Get on a track with an artist and showcase skill. I think Kendrick got him on this one, but he's definitely improved since then. A rap battle very rarely showcases lyrical skill. It's about who can go lower than the other. Cole stepping away from that showed his true character. To put Drake ahead of Cole because he indulged in a rap beef is insane. He's not on Cole's level lyrically, hell he doesn't even write all his own lyrics. Hopefully we get more collabs from these two down the line. I literally think they're the last two realest of our generation left.

Yeah, I think Cole didn't know how Drake and Kendrick's beef was beyond just a rap beef or friendly competition, and peaced out when he seen they on personal demon time
true but he couldve braved it by dissing Drake too so it became a mexican standoff instead of him and drake vs Kenny .
That wouldve made it incredibly difficult for everyone involved, a true GOAT test.
Standing with Drake while knowing what Kenny had on him? that would be terrible.
Fighting his own battle sending shots? couldve been guaranteed to take the title of greatest battle ever - it was still IMO, it would just be inarguable
that aint why people lost respect for him lol i keep seeing this take misconstruing the issue people had
Cole got dissed. How was this not his problem?
@@youareaspook5897Cole turning on Drake would of been way out of character and a bad idea, plus he didn't wanted to be involved in a personal beef with 2 dudes he has now problem with
Kendrick is probably the greatest LYRICIST of all time 🥶🥶🥶
Our time. He's the G.O.O.T.
@@IroquoisPliskin6789 😂 first time I hear of G.O.O.T 🔥
I’m going to say something crazy but, i think Kendrick is the greatest overall rapper of all time but Lupe Fiasco is the greatest lyricist.
@@RugbiiiBut MF DOOM is another beast when it comes to lyrics.
J cole is
The ppl comparing these verses like they were trying to do the same thing is crazy lol. Cole was trying to make a song. Cole was barring for sure though, I’ve just heard him go crazier with flows and schemes, so that fact along with the fact he had a whole section allocated to a hook makes me think he wasn’t trying to optimise for lyrical ability
This is why we want the joint album!!
I hope we get one, but Cole been saying it's not gone happen. They recorded so many songs together, somebody need to leak em if we don't get a collab album. Lol
The double meaning in "I get sentimental" (Sent to mental) aka I get Crazy😵💫✍🏼😈... 😂🔥🔥
Send his jaw to Jerusalem?? 😂😂😂 Perfect breakdown.
"The blick is off the waist now!"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣fckin hilarious. Made me choke on my soda🤣🤣🤣
If Kendrick and Cole are boys then I understand why Cole did what he did. There was no need for blood between them. Drake bled enough for everyone.
@@foxybluu3357he didn’t start it though. He responded to Kendrick’s verse
Yeah I was thinking Cole was thinking it was a fun, high school type battl, bar for bar who can beast someone on different type of beats
@@foxybluu3357 The hell are you on about? J Cole's verse was just about the "Big 3" on First Person Shooter. Not a jab and nothing disrespectful. Get out of here, lol.
@@Greggerization… have you listened to the song? Other than the big three verse the entire song was talking about how Cole or Drake was #1 and they tried completely separating themselves from Kdot.
Immediately after referencing Kdot, Cole calls himself Muhammad Ali lmao
“Numero u-n-o, Me and drizzy this shit like the Super Bowl”
“The Spider-Man meme is me lookin at drake”
@@foxybluu3357Kendrick doesn’t think Cole is a punk. ScHoolboy Q actually caught Cole at Dreamville fest and told him it would be smart to stay out of the beef because it’s not about him. There’s really no need to start a Cole hate train 🤷🏽♂️. Of course K. Dot is the goat but let’s relax.
The floatier bar is a “BASKETBALL REFERENCE GUY!” 🙄🤦🏾♂️
Drake should've research this and decided not to diss him lol 😂🔥
ONG!!
Facts
drake is competitor bro whether you like him or not
@@sisekelompanza4737& he should’ve researched his competition a little better 🤷🏾♀️
@@Chels1111 in the words of mike tyson " everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face" you can prep but still fall short. at the end of the day someone was going to lose, are people saying this because it's drake? would the same been said if cole was up against kdot?
Scru trying to speak on Cole or Kendrick without ever hearing this until now is wild. This was my high school soundtrack. Never on no streaming services to this day. You just had to have it. Datpiff. All that. Got this shit memorized to this day. 2015.
no bullshit
"send his jaw to Jerusalem" lol you crazy bruh. Love the tee man
Would be awesome if Cole and Kendrick collab’d again and Drake lost Cole too lolol
J cole was rapping over Kendricks "Alright" off of "to pimp a butterfly" a classic album
I remember when this came out when I was in middle school and I was so excited that if they release a collab album the world was gonna end 😂🔥🔥
I remember this was such a great moment in hip-hop! I was in high school at the time and all we could talk about was who had the better song lol. These two are the big 2 there's no big 3! I don't care!
12:51 they essentially collabed by agreeing to rap over eachother's beats as far as i understand it
How I never heard this song till now is crazy thank you Scru🤝
Both these dudes went the Funk OFF! This joint will NEVER get old. Thanks for the reaction.
I literally think they're the last two realest of our generation left.
i think cole's was almost on the same level of technical skill but because it was flowing more with the beat it seemed like kendrick focused more on his lyrics
but cole's rhyme schemes and punches were insane this is one of his best verses ever
Bruh... " send his jaw to Jerusalem" is crazzy lol 19:27
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
He is insanely talented on so many levels , Nothing but respect to Kendrick Lamar #Kung Fu Kenny❣️🔥
Like a floater is definitely a basketball reference… not no dookie
You gotta hear Cereal by IDK, JID, and Kenny Mason. Last Kenny Mason song got 4k likes!
He won't. The DJ is white. Which means he's a vulture.
Can't do that the dj is white.
@@ErydayisLit😂😂
@@ErydayisLit huh? 😭
@gprada scru said he's not giving any white artists attention. I guess there all colonizers.
Floater was a basketball reference. Cole turned Dot’s instrumental into a whole song. Hook, verse, melodies. Dot hopped on Cole’s instrumental and lyrically slaughtered it. 2 different styles. Great together
Kendrick bodied tf outta Cole
This why you got 6 likes💀🤡
@@orsiascencio8799more than you lol
You're so corny
Let's do this on 2025 😂
J Cole lyricism is so much on a higher level now
He smoked that boy Cole shouldnt hav agreed to do that shit
I really respect you. It’s very rare, especially within this year’s climate, to hear a self proclaimed Kendrick fan to never really hop on the anti-Drake wave. More than that, you often tip your cap to him for, at least, showing up. Fair play. But, dawgie, waiting this long to “dabble” with Kenny’s Black Friday play is super crazy. That one definitely up there!
Losing respect for a person because they didn’t do what YOU wanted them too says a lot about YOU.
What about losing respect for someone who fails to live up to his own words?
@@fisumeej6674 He recognized that this wasn’t HIS beef. If you pay attention to the initial diss its nearly all aimed at drake, and its known that Dot & Drake do not fw one another. If you were in coles position you would have done the same thing if you just thought abt the situation. It made no sense for him to continue.
@@gloop510Kendrick purposely mentioned first person shooter if he just wanted to go for Drake all his bars woulda been aimed at Drake this “it wasn’t his beef” angle is dumb.
@@Yreakles First Person Shooter is drakes song, He doesn’t say “Fuck J.cole” but he does 10000% make sure to say “Fuck you drake” in the verse. If he wanted to he could have, but he goes out of his way to say it to drake and not cole. And saying “Its just big me” is like any rap artist saying they’re the greatest. It’s not a dumb angle you just have to literally reach to say cole was dissed.
@@gloop510 your delusional “fps is drakes song” yeah but j Cole’s on it Kendrick coulda said any other song he also said “if he walk around with a stick it ain’t Andre 3k” referring to Cole’s song stick. It’s like brain dead to say he wasn’t trying to start friendly competition with Cole aswell. As a Cole fan I’m guessing I thought you’d be smarter.
Remember that Dot had JUST dropped TPAB and Cole had dropped 2014 Forrest Hills Dr the year before. I listened to this so much when it came out
“Rolling in that paper deep like 2 Adeles”!!!! Fucking insane!!! 😅
Been Jamming this one since the day it came out 🔥
I keep it in the old bangers playlist. Pull it out on rare occasions I achieve greatness lmao
Kdot raps on Cole’s “tale of two cities”
Cole raps on “Alright”
Yea one is a harder beat so people saying Kendrick automatically killed Cole on this but it’s two different beats
@@livingincreationKendrick killed both beats to be honest 😂
@@livingincreation bro acting like kdot didnt rap on his own beat before. And also , it doesnt matter if the beat is harder or not , cole chose the beat , and objectively his verse isnt as good as kendrick’s in any way. I am not saying cole did bad , just kendrick was too good
They tapping out before we get a chance to miss em. Kdot a prophet. Cole was the fulfilment.
I have actually never finished J. Cole‘s verse on these songs until now, but let’s keep it real Kendrick murdered this shit
So this one came out right around the time 2014 Forest Hill drive and to pimp a butterfly came out. Apparently from what it was stated they both got each other's respective beats from the other and they both thought about doing something but they never actually got around to doing the songs so they both had them in there discography but never let them out and when they finally did drop they dropped at the same time on the Black Friday. I think it was 2015 or 16
Kendrick rapped over Coles A Tale of 2 Citiez. Cole rapped over Alright.
What im saying is how you a fan of rap and don't already know this 😭😭 cmon now scru face
This song first came out on the radio... i'll never forgot.
Bro I was literally up this morning looking for this reaction gang, good looking out bro🔥🔥🔥💪🏾💪🏾
Once a week every month i play these two on repeat
K. Dot murked Jermaine EASILY!!!
“Ima send his jaw to Jerusalem” Is crazy! 🤣
Btw, this was them freestyling over each others beats? J Cole was rapping over Alright and Kendrick rapped over A Tale of 2 Citiez.
Yea even though Cole apologized I can’t deny that his music is straight fire. In my opinion! KDot and Cole will always be in the top of my favorite rappers. 🔥
I’m hollering😂 buddy said the floater line was in reference to a dookie 😂😂😂 nah bro it’s a shot in basketball
I remember listening to these as they dropped with my best friends in high school , needless to say we was losing our shit . Good times fr
Scru you acting like you ain’t ever heard this b4 lol
I love them both but the way Kdot hits gives me goosebumps
About time 🔥
This song still on my Playlist till this day
Cole legit made the right call. He wanted a rap beef not this crazy shit. Kendrick exposing Drake's pdf filw ass and Drake out here exposing Kendrick as a wife beater.
Drake has been accused for a while , not kdot. Thats why people side with kendrick a lot more
Hell nah I appreciate you, Scru been watching you for about 4 years now you my favorite reactor/rapper on this platform much love g 💯💪🏽
Your channel's humility and hard work are commendable. Well done.
I only respect Cole more after knowing what went down. They was goin after dirt of each other and bringing children and family. Cole was going at kendrick's catalogue on 7 minute drill. Big difference, which is why schoolboytold him what kendrick was gonna do and that he had no plan to diss cole back which is why cole apologised to kendrick publicly so that people didnt think kendrick backed down of something he just didnt wanna do with his dawg.
Floater is also a basketball shot Scru. You shoot it high over the defender so they can’t block it
So glad someone said this lol
I never thought about the cover art for this song until just now watching your reaction. And after the whole beef, It too almost lands like a bar and aged crazy. Do you see a resemblance of a King on his throne with his royal guard on stand by? Just the fact that hes sitting and Cole is standing, the body language.
Wow this is old, I've listened to this so many times and I enjoy it every single time.
Cole WENT TF off. Dot WENT TF off!
cole went off. dot went harder
"I DONT SMOKE CRACK MOTHER F....R I SELL IT"
is the best line on "under the sun" and kendrick dont even want the credit 👐 J Cole is fire, but he aint K Dot
Kdot and cole did something special with this
0:52 if you listen back to Kendrick’s songs, every line hits differently now😂
When this dropped this shit felt like The Rock and Stone Cold at a Wrestlemania 🔥🔥 we the people want more Kendrick and Cole colabs
Best analogy
Easiest way i could describe it is Cole uses is voice as an attachment with his music and kdot uses his voice as a weapon
React to Power Circle MMG, Kendrick has one of his best verses on there 😤
I know Dot part word for word. Been bumping this since late 2015
Can’t have Drake over Cole no matter what you think about the apology.
Like he said “if I quote it, I wrote it”
I remember when I heard for the first time, I was so hyped that I listened to it 15-20 times in a row! I always wondered why they never had an album together fr
Turns out scru is drake and Knox is Kenny in this beef cause this man acting like he didn’t get cooked and moved on like shit didt happen😂
