with price of paint going up since the last time you painted this honestly is a great pricing and quality from them! besides the door blend and trim mess ups i say it’s a 10/10 option
i got my burgundy red 05 saab painted white for $2k in july of 2023 with maaco with a 4yr warranty, looks sick! The key was to take off all the trim and lights before taking it to them. I'll send you a pic to your gmail!
It's not really the fault of the paint if it's sprayed over the top of crap. Yes bondo will fix a car up to look good to sell. But if you are wanting a repair that will last any time at all then you need all the rust cutting out and new metal welded in, or new panels. I had some work done on my 1999 93 Aero in 2019. I did most of the prep and used filler. 5 years on, the paint is starting to bubble up
Well done car looking great, same as you couldn't live with that off side bottom rear door , point it out to them and get them to redo it after Saab 2024, all the best from the UK.
I'm missing the front lip, the prior owner of my Aero 2.0T must have crashed during front first parking or something. Here in Europe the original front lip is about 300+ euros. There's some eBay listings, in eastern Europe, non originals, aero kits which are half the price for each peace.
I really wouldn't recommend a non-OEM Aero lip. Had an aftermarket fiberglass front lip and it basically exploded on the highway.. (I guess it could handle the wind). Might just have been bad luck and that won't happen with an original!
They still have similar rates for whole cars from what I recall seeing. It totally depends on what quality of paint you’re going with though. A lot of mine was the labor involved in the body repairs. I wanted to stick with Maaco to make sure the exact same paint was being applied as when I initially got it resprayed (single coat with integrated clear) 😁👍🏼
I know this is vague but have you ever had a buzzing in the engine bay that sounds like it’s around the vacuum pump that drains the battery completely thanks also dope video I wanna get something cool for my 9-3
It would be cool, but tbh I have so many other things higher my list of priories for both cars that’ll take all my money. And the current panels look pretty close to the SPG ones!
What year saabs used the tf80? In the mindset of piwer handling that is. It's difficult to find the manual saabs out here in south florida, So if I ever decide to get one and only find auto, I wouldn't mind as long as it's tf80, in volvos those handle power well.
Anything with a V6 (06-10), anything with AWD (2008-), or 2012. Otherwise the automatic is the 5-speed. But if you are looking at power, the V6 has more tunability because of the larger displacement and the stronger internals. And I would think finding awd in southern florida might be tricky. But if it has awd and V6, it will also have the 6-speed.
@asamyers4572 thanks a lot, so many varieties and I'm not too familiar, I do know there's the 2.8 v6 and the cobalt 2.0 i guess basically lol the 2.8 v6 only came in awd, or also fwd? I follow those guys prolific builds but they have so many different cars idk the differences. Volvo I know like the back of my hand so swedish cousin would be sick to build
@@lumimobb Yeah, for such a small company, Saab really did have a surprising amount of varieties. Any engine can go with any drivetrain if it was offered that year. So a V6 can be front or all wheel drive and same with the 2.0. But only the 2.0 was available for 2010+. Also the AWD originally came with torque-vectoring in the rear, but that feature was optional (I'm not too familiar with the specifics, but I would say generally, if it is 2.0 with awd, it doesn't have torque vectoring).
I love how you keep finding ways to upgrade your car! Keep the content coming, I love the sport sedans from this early 2000s era, the best 🤩
Thanks! It’s fun to find little things you can change to improve it 😁
First! Love what you're doing Jacob! The 9-3 looks in credible!
Thank you sir!

Nice! Yeah the prep work is huge. I did a lot of that sort of stuff when I got the whole car painted a few years back!
I would take it back for that spot to be blended better. That sicks out 😮
I unfortunately did not pay to have them blend that area. Maybe an oversight on my part
@@AutoAutopsy how much would it be to blend that area?

Guess I am
lucky have a 2005 Aero convertible 9.3 - have had front splitter side skirts and rear valance done in carbon fibre wrap looks great 😊
Cool! 😁👍🏼

Thanks! I’m sure they’d probably not honor anything past that point unfortunately. Hoping this is my last time going back there!
Why don't you just take off the rubbing strip and have them paint it? Why would you give them the entire car just to paint the rubbing strip black?
Excellent!!!! She looks Fabulous!!!
Thanks Joseph!
Getting close to 100k subs.
Hoping to reach it someday! Growth has been slow :(
rust free..........looks amazing and keeps it easy to work on haha
Yessir definitely helps 🤣🙌🏼

They are expensive, but they are worth it 👍🏼
Those side skirts really add a lot of look! A little off topic but any recommendations for regular front struts NG 9-3’s?
Thanks! I have bilsteins on mine: ua-cam.com/video/b5qlSm5GfVo/v-deo.htmlsi=SVpak3nZA8-j7wZF
Dude, your car looks awesome, and sounds beautiful, however, I think that company sound like proper cowboys
Thanks! What do you mean?
Nice (but expensive) job! 👍🏼😅
Btw which wheels are these? These aren’t OEM for the 9-3, are they? 🤔
They’re sport edition p3 👍🏼😁
Still a good price 🏁🏁🏁💰👍
I suppose. I was hoping to pay $1k for all of that. Good work (which isn’t necessarily what Maaco is known for) probably would’ve cost me even more
That body parts are from 2003 vector version
They were off a 2007 V6 Aero. The vector did not have dual exhaust 👍🏼👊🏼
Wow , wonder how much they charge now to paint a whole car?? Did you check out an independent shop to see what they would charge ?

Thanks! Yeah it could be your vacuum pump. See if this is the same issue you’re having: ua-cam.com/video/IxXokq_ItDg/v-deo.htmlsi=f3HsKlfW48zevvQd
Bitifoul car Bravo my friend
Thank you!
So, SPG front and rear parts next on the 900? :)
It would be cool, but tbh I have so many other things higher my list of priories for both cars that’ll take all my money. And the current panels look pretty close to the SPG ones!
🏁🏁🏁Those rims look A-1
Thank you!
The car looks great man. Maaco though... your stories aren't encouraging
They’re ehhh. Get what you pay for, that’s for sure 🥲
🇸🇪

😎👍🇸🇪❤️

Well done bro!
Thank you!

@asamyers4572 great info, thanks!
Depends on how much power you’re looking for tbh. My auto trans has been great in my 9-3
