I'm not going to lie, in middle school I was so embarrassed by my curly hair that I straightened it everyday. I did some serious damage to my hair. Ladies, never shy away from showing what God gave you!! Curls are beautiful and I wish I would have realized that when I was younger.

I love this tutorial. I'm so excited that big curly hair is finally back in style, or at least socially acceptable. I spent all 4 years of high school, and my first year of college in straightener/blow dryer purgatory. Not having enough time to at least brush out and straighten the top of my head meant I wasn't going out. 2015 is seriously liberating.

Just for the record, even though i am sure you already know this. But, your hair absolutely does not look damaged, it looks beautiful and healthy!
They sell the Shea Moisture Products in Walmart or Target here in the States. The Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque with Sea Kelp and Argan oil is amazing. They usually have them in the Ethnic section of the hair products. That section has the most amazing Sulfate free and Natural Products. :)
Seems like most curlies went through a period of trying to change their hair texture. Glad you embrace your hair, it is beautiful

this is what upsets me about my curly hair..look how many products you had to use...was it 4 or 5 after the shampoo and conditioner? that is way too much, why can't we have one product which does it all? It is easier for me to bow dry and flat iron than do all this.

Could you do a video or comment here about how you get your hair cut? like what do you ask for ? etc. It has such good shape. Sometimes its hard to find the right balance for a cut when you wear your hair both straight and curly.
I air dry my hair in a bun, I use shampoo conditioners with keratin only ,and leave in conditioner. I use no products other than that, my curls come out great.

Mine? Even worse!
But.. I get away with just using moose. I comb my hair after i have washed and conditioned then i actually comb the styling product through my hair. Making sure to get the BACK. Especially the lower portion. (Combing the hair is not going to disturb the curl pattern.. Oh, & have a lot of frizz? Use a serum that controls frizz before the moose!). And once all combed, shake the hair around a few times to get the curls back. Oh, and don't touch! DONE! (Hard to curl hair? Scrunch.. Hair crunchy once dry? Pull the hair downwards once dry to create softness. No finger combing! )
Can you do a curly hair night routine? That would really help haha. Everything I have tried still makes some of my curls undefined, some are frizzy and my hair overall just doesn't have as much volume.
I would straighten my hair all the time then it got damaged and i really regretted it so i stopped putting heat on it and now i have my curly hair back yay 😊
I damaged my hair 6months ago, a will never straighten my hair again. I only use enchanted midnight with keratin its made my hair gorgeous .

Do you brush your hair before you wash it or after? Because I have experienced that my hair tends to get more frizzy, when I brush it before but also my curls are less defined if I brush it afterwards! Curly hair probe! Btw you're beautiful and so is your hair! 😍

I have exactly the same curl pattern as you but I only use one product to seal in moisture after I shower, and i never use heat, it fries your curls.
I love this video n your hair looks beautiful! Wish I could mine to look as nice! My hair is super thick all it gets a lot bigger! Kinda like a built in pillow!lol

Can u plz plz plz do a tutorial on how to part curly hair? I've been embracing my beautiful curls for the past few months but still am having a problem parting my hair. On the sides it is just past my shoulders and the back is at my bra strap. I part it in the middle but then it's flat in the middle and lumps up high in either side kinda like the McDonald's Golden M in their sign lol I've also tried parting it on one side but then it looks like I have way too much hair on one side than the other.
How often do you get your haircut and what do you ask for? Also, how often do you wash your hair?

You're a beautiful girl with beautiful hair, but as a fellow curly girl who is much older than you, I have some friendly, honest feedback, even if this video is a year old. ( I just stumbled upon it.). For whatever it's worth, I think aside from the intro being too long, I think that is way too many steps and too much product. You don't need all of it! 😉If you were using the right product brands, even on a budget , you would prob not need more than two -- A smoothing serum in the shower to hold your curls while you get out and start styling and one styling cream/gel type of product would be sufficient. Then after your proper blow dry, a final hold by a third product and you're set. ;) Also, you would benefit from looking up the OIUDAD method of styling because working any brand of product *through your hair from *roots to end, combing it through and then scrunching *gently is better in the long run. It will help the condition of your hair, the long term hold and curl retention plus almost no straight pieces sneak in. Congratulations for embracing your beautiful curls and also light natural makeup. Beautiful girl who can inspire other young girls with curls to rock them with pride!

you have the same hair type i do -- about a 3a ---- curly AND wavy. my hair is so much healthier since i've cut out silicones and sulfates, but i still have to put in a LOT of conditioner and leave it in, and then let it air dry…. and then *leave it alone* lol… nooooo touchy touchy. so annoying but it still frizzes up like today b/c i skipped putting in the coconut and avocado oils when it was wet :/
