+Chitown ShaSha hey, I throw my hair into a loose pineapple and sleep on a satin pillowcase. I spray some type of refresher spray in the morning, then add a natural oil for shine.

Leslie Zani, Bellatrix is right. My hair is waist length and my curl pattern is almost identical; both my parents are black. The offense is the implication that if you have characteristics that others deem beautiful, then you must be mixed because " black women don't look like that." Don't know if this was your thinking when you asked the question, but that's a broken record for black women. I'm asked all the time what I'm mixed with because I'm said to have " different" features as if I MUST be some other ethnicity. Anyway, this is a beautiful young lady who made the video regardless of her ethnic background, which really doesn't matter as much as we think it does in regard to her hair texture.
sure, most of us do by now. but its still a reach to suggest that a black woman cannot have long or "nice" hair. most of our probs begin when we( my mother did not do this to my hair) try to emulate other cultures by treating our hair the way they treat theirs; we are not the same. Not knocking them but we need to do what works for us. And im not even gonna talk about chemicals because i know some of us...well you get it. the end result is dry, broken, brittle, hard to grow hair. The black women that i encounter with healthy hair have long hair, unless they have cut it by choice.
Racquel Dillon I don't know how many people mean that in an offensive manner, but loose curls are a common trait amongst mixed people. If I see someone with a tan I may think they're mixed with black, because the african heritage adds a nice tanned complexion for example.
+charles125 yes indeed for me I get asked daily whether my hair is real etc. I never find it offensive though it's hard to tell ..I am mixed as well and my hair has same volume and texture as hers just that my curls are more defined ......

I have curly hair like her and it only looks good after it's just washed, and takes on a look that's more flat and still curly. But after being exposed to the sweaty heat sack known as my middle school, it puffs up like a poofy mop and suffocates me. That's why I usually put it in a tight bun.

You really have to experiment with the hair and products!! Moisturize is a BIG thing!! My hair is like this as well and I've done almost everything, it's fun to play around with!
Priya Ray This hair routine is for big hair so shes scrunching and fluffing it out a ton. Some people perfer more tamed hair. To get that just use gel, dont scrunch too much and maybe try pinning back some hair pieces to get it out of ur face if u want.

This video makes me sad because my pin straight white girl hair will not hold volume, but I think hair like this is absolutely beautiful. You're so lucky to have hair like this.
+Regina George I literally put a volumizing spray and root booster in my hair, blow dried it upside down, finished drying it with a round brush, and finished with texturizing powder and hairspray. I got a huge amount of volume, but it fell flat after 30 minutes. I keep my hair medium length with tons of layers and it stays plastered to my head. :( I use sulfate free shampoo and cone free conditioner too.
+DanniiAnne look at the plopping method on UA-cam. You turn your wet hair upside down onto a t shirt and tie it, leaving it in overnight.

Im always flipping back and forth between natural hair and straightened. When i see videos like this I run to the nearest water bottle to wet my hair, lmao. Then I get sad because my hair never turns out like the videos lol. My curl patterns all over the place! It kinky curly in the back. loose and wavy everywhere else. And at the top it doesn't want to curl..-__-. Anyways ill be off to wet my hair. But just know that this video will be the cause of all my stress later lol.

How does your hair get dry in 30 mins? Mine takes at least 3h omg and it has much less volume and length

Damn, you have some absolutely, unbelievably, beautiful hair girl. I'm not normally a fan of hairstyles that I've seen, that are similar to this. Just for one reason. I feel like alot of the time, (not all, ofcourse) the general shape achieved of curls like this, can go so wrong, so quick. Heh. Your hair is so pretty. It looks so healthy and clean.
So I'm half black half white, and to be honest my curls are misshapen and frizzy. I get called nappy head and poofy hair. It hurts. I've tried everything.. I don't even use heat! I air dry, shampoo once a month, condition every day, deep condition once a week, and leave in condition every day. It's a damn curse!
Either you have a very small curl pattern, or your hair is damaged/dry. Whenever I'm in a rush to detangle my hair, I sometimes end up breaking it and it gets frizzy. To get rid of the frizz and make my curls look normal (my hair is sort of like merida's from brave. All different curl patterns!) I use mixed chicks leave in conditioner, Marc Anthony curl envy cream, and olive oil smooth-n-hold pudding. The key to getting rid of the frizz is putting the product in curl by curl! Don't just put it in your palm and rub it onto your head; grab individual curls and apply products from root to end; grab frizzy areas and apply a little more product, twirling that part with your finger. I hope this advice helps! :) oh and when you wash your hair, don't dry it immediately. I like to apply product when my hair is really wet, then I air dry.

+karen 74 Not really.It's big yes but it's not tangled and the more you take care of curly hair,the easier it becomes to manage and it doesn't get as many knots in it.
my hair is very similar to yours, but the one time I used a difuser, it got really stiff and dry. Been scared of it ever since. Now I'm thinking I may have been using the wrong products. Your hair looks amazing. Your highlights are perfection!
