- Getting a ticket from the Mountain Recreation and Conservation Authority is not the same as a ticket issued by a cop or a Highway Patrol officer. It doesn’t count against your driving record or your insurance rates. But failure to pay can impact your credit score and possibly result in debt collectors coming after you. Once they let HOAs fine people for breaking their rules, that opened the floodgates for everyone to do it. This crap needs to be reined in.
HOA's get away with issuing ticket until someone takes them to court over it is because they force you to sign a contract that you will follow their rules when you move I to the HOA. Notice how house flippers get blindsided by HOA's then state how they try to avoid HOA's because they end up overspending on the renovations having to redo work after the HOA doesn't approve work that was completed before informing the house flipper or contractors even those they sat there watching the work being done and never said a word to any of them that the house was part of a HOA. Hell there are almost daily stories now about how HOA's violate mandatory laws that supercede their rules and law enforcement and courts have to go after the HOA's for refusing to follow actual laws that they are not authorized to ignore.
take them to court.
actually the court would like to favor the drivers since the court and their associates then get paid. just like the traffic camera, the court are against it as it doesnt bring revenue to them but third party people makes the money

Sounds like someone looking for free money.
Business is booming
Mr. Krabs
Got one of these. Didn't pay. They put these in the most random places to trick people into rolling the stop. For example, I got mine at the Top of Topanga area on Topanga Cyn Road. They put the stop sign about 25-50ft behind where you actually merge onto the road so you end up going a bit further beyond the camera sensor and they "catch" you in the act. With the stop sign so far back, you are unable to see if cars are coming safely, so any (safe) driver will pull out further than the stop sign so they can see over the crest of the hill before merging. It's deceptive and not in the interest in safety (no pedestrian crossings or other hazards nearby) and all to generate revenue for MRCA.
I can understand wanting to get some revenue to keep up the park, but this is the wrong way to do it. Do it like any other park and charge parking fees.
If they have moved the signs back without the relevant approval from the department of transport and infrastructure, and someone is killed in an accident as a result, I'd imagine a HUGE lawsuit would follow.
It's the city's job to manage the parks and the roads, and also, u do give me the thought if they (this real or fake organization), just randomly installing stop signs at places were there wasn't one or shouldn't be there, just scare people out of their money. And another thing to, how do they have access to ur credit info? That's a bit strange...
@@andrewli1519 Anybody can have access to your credit info by paying for the service at one of the credit bureau (eg TransUnion or Equifax).

I live in locally, I have been repeatedly told by police officers they must witness an infraction to issue a citation for a loose leash violation.
Multiple letters and countless videos of the pitbull nextdoor jumping the fence charging people on the sidewalk, charging dogs being walked on leashes, repeatedly running onto my property to get my little dog, almost running inside my home and nothing can be done until it bites someone.
One officer told me he was an ‘expert on Constitutional Law’ and they will never accept security video to issue a citation for an infraction.
I am repeatedly told an officer must witnesses the infraction. I have provided over a dozen videos and nothing.
Yet when a traffic camera makes money for a city, county, or public park THEN those videos are allowed to hold someone accountable for an infraction violation.

You just connect to the DMV. I got in an accident in the 90s and not long after, I got notification from DMV stating they gave registered vehicle list to some law firm. Then, I got another that the law firm got my driving record.
"While MRCA Park Rangers are California Peace Officers, they also perform maintenance, interpretation, and fire rescue duties at parks throughout the Southern California region. Automated stop sign enforcement uses camera systems and sensors to detect stop sign violations. A stop sign violation consists of a vehicle not coming to a complete stop behind the limit line. The violation is detected and the camera system records a video image of the entire incident including the vehicle and its surroundings. Automated enforcement of stop signs in heavily used parks makes sense as an additional tool to keep all park users safe, while making drivers more aware of the potential hazards around them.

California is something else 😂
imagine driving a manual, always rolling because your stall the car. and getting a ticket because you didnt want to stall the car
If it’s for public safety, they shouldn’t hide the cameras
Private Citizen video of an infraction vs municipal money making video.
I have turned in to police and animal control dozens of videos of the pitbull next door jumping the fence at the sidewalk and charging people walking by, jumping the fence and attacking a dog being walked, charging my property where I had to install a gate to stop it from running to our rear cottage. Tolerating at least five different men running in my backyard to retrieve the pit.
Both animal control and police saying nothing can be done until the pitbull bites someone.
I was told by multiple officers they cannot issue a loose leash violation because it is an infraction and must be witnessed by an officer. I asked how my video doesn’t suffice as evidence and was told by one officer he was an expert in Constitutional Law and then he schooled me about the infractions. Of course if the pit bites someone they will ask for the same videos.
My point, video from the public for public safety video doesn’t suffice for an infraction citation, yet for traffic cameras making money for the City or County they do suffice.

If it's not a ticket then they can't do anything against your credit score. That's a scam. They don't have the power to fine you.
Stop signs suck. Replace them with yield triangles and priority diamonds in 90% of cases. The only time a stop sign should be used is when visibility is so low so as to compromise safety at the junction.

About public safety, a car sitting idle (vs rolling safely through a stop) will put more toxic emissions into the air. As insignificant as it may seem, and as much as major corporations contribute more than the rest, every little bit counts.
But you can walk into a store and steal less then 900$ of goods !
How can I tell who's driving the car? Giving a ticket to the registered owner not driving it is wrong.
There are laws called Owner's Liability that put the onus on the listed owner... unless that owner identifies who the driver was. 😉 In my state, they use Owner's Liability with illegally passing school buses, the "Move Over" law, failing to yield to emergency vehicles, and some others. 😁
Don't loan out ride to fools.

Love how this guy's holding his kid accountable. Probably thinks speeding is just fine as well. My kid would not be driving for a while if I found out they rolled through a stop sign, and they would have paid the park for doing so as well.
If you can clearly see there is no other car or pedestrian around, it does not matter if you stop completely or roll through cautiously at 2mph. What would stopping completely change, if no one is near you.
I cant believe the state and law enforcements are in cahoot with these similar to HOA allowed to fine people
HOA = wannabe tyrants
Rolling through a stop area has always been illegal.
If we care about the environment as we say we do; we don't want cars sitting, idling at a stop sign when its safe ti go forward slowly.
Sure, so is going 1 mph over the speed limit. But you have never done that, ever, right? If you have you should turn yourself in because you're a criminal according to the letter of the law.
Stopping at a stop sign barely affects the environment…
What about traffic jams? Those pollute WAY more.
You almost have a fair argument, but you fail to consider that not stopping at an all way when somebody else has the right of way before you is an EASY way to end up causing an accident, where even going 5 mph over isn’t dangerous, especially if you’re actually a good driver.
Where are those cameras again? Can someone please post the location so we can all go take a look for ourselves.
1) They have no legal authority to issue traffic citations in CA.
2) Stop light cameras are illegal in CA, and it could be argued that this is an extension of that.
"Adult kid" wtf is that 😂
A child that is over 18 years in age, try to keep up.
Also, the sign at THE TOP OF TOPANGA is located well before a driver can see all oncoming traffic, so to be safe, a drive must stop twice.
Agreed! It's almost like that's why there's a stop sign there 🤔
The big question is...who authorized this?
Nothing a can of tree tar can’t fix. 😂
This happen to me as well as red light tickets all send via mail and I have learned that there are no consequences if you just ignore and don’t pay these tickets. There are only consequences for moving violations when they are given to you in person when you are pulled over by a police officer.
Except when they're issued by an officer later and put a lein/suspension on your registration.
They were talking about red light cameras the other day on the radio, turns out the cities who actually upgraded their cameras to be compliant with the requirements to have the tickets be enforceable if you even challenge the ticket you already lost the case because they have high quality photos of both your places on the car and a photo of the driver you could use as a head shot when trying to get modeling and acting gigs so their is no question who was driving or if you ran the light. They also only cam issue tickets to cars going straight through a red light not turning even if there is no right turn on red signs around.
@@WolfDShadow bases on my research I personally have choose to ignored these types of tickets and there are no negative consequences. Meaning there is nothing happens to the owners of the cars driving history or credit or insurance. No points on record. The tickets are just a scare tactic to get people to pay with no real consequences when you just ignore the tickets. You only loose when you pay the ticket or show up to court to try to fight the ticket.
this is normal in other countries... you slow down near a stop sign, if you see there's no cars coming, then proceed, no need to make a full stop for nothing.
The California Roll is sushi
Just another HOA toe power grab!
Unenforceable. Certainly would NOT affect your credit.
People that they send the collection agencies after don't realize if they challenge it to the credit bureaus they will win because the collection agency can't prove they LEGALLY own the debt since there was nothing filed with the courts, if the courts would see the tickets they would throw them oit faster than that company can print out the bogus tickets in the first place based on the quality of the photos alone, not including the fact you can't make out the driver in the photo to prove who ran the stop sign.
I read the title as "doing the 'California Roll' can get you fired" 😂
I heard, a random man once setup a booth to collect parking fees at a local zoo, and for 25 years made millions on fees. The zoo staff thought it was the city collecting fees so they never stopped him. The parking was free the whole time he was not working for the city. When he was ready to retire, he took down the booth and disappeared.
Oh, you mean the kind of stops cops do?
Cops just turn on their lights to blow through lights and then turn them off after.
kind of off topic but stop signs in commercial parking lots arent legally enforced, I never stop at them
Also, there’s usually a DOT sticker on the back of enforced signage… not sure if that changed
Check your local municipal ordinances -- sometimes municipalities enact ordinances that make them enforceable (as long as your state's statutes allow the municipalities to do so). Also, roads in state parks are not considered commercial -- they are usually considered public highways (check your state's statutes for applicability on state park property)
