I hear some buzz about the AR professional line every now and then so I decided it would be best to include one of their professional pressure washers in the pressure washing project. I went out and bought an AR630 TSS HOT to see how well their higher end pressure washers will perform vs others like Comet & Kranzle. I also always hear people talking about using hot water for cleaning but how hot is their water without using a boiler? Chances are with your home supply you're not getting over 130F. So if you don't have a dedicated boiler I wouldn't bother with hot water versions of pressure washers.

I own both the AR and Kranzle and I prefer the AR. I have been using the AR for the last 3 years and it hasn't skipped a beat. I have probably only used my Kranzle a few times lol.. I plan on keeping the Kranzle as a backup but the AR is superior when it comes to specs.
Very interesting! Thank you for this. Why do you think this if you don't mind me asking. I've been looking at the AR and the Kranzle. But spending $1500+ for the Kranzle seems nuts to me just so I can wash my cars. I already have a gas pressure washer to wash my cars but it gets annoying to start it up and is noisy. But the AR is almost half the cost of the Kranzle...
I just picked up my AR630 TSS several days ago! I can't wait to use it this weekend! Honestly between the two I think the AR is better. The pump design alone is better than the wobble plate that Kranzle uses. Yes the Kranzle has a nice smaller profile and neat little handle (aesthetically, I think it does look better). But since it's going to be mounted on my shelf it doesn't matter. I wanted a better design and I feel the AR does this.
@@NewShockerGuy I was gonna go all in on a kranzle but now not sure ??
@@kcimages5157 I bought the AR 630 tss. I love it! It has a superior pump design over the kranzle.
Thanks for sharing. How is the noise level of the AR vs. the Kranzle?
Ive been waiting for this video for 10 months!!!! YESSSSSSS
Have used one of these for over 4 year for my business, have not had one issue. Amazing unit!
What orifice?
@imDnice go back and forth alot. 25 degrees is probably my favorite tip
@@luxurydetailsllc9803 no I mean orifice for foam cannon sorry
I’m a Mobile Detailer, AR is the top of the line when it comes to pumps in my opinion.
Do u power it w a generator, battery, or plug in to an outlet? I’m wondering what options there is to run it mobile
@@arreola961 generator. Unless you want to explain to the client why you keep popping breakers. Not a good look. Igen4500 is a great option to run this and a decent air compressor.
Well it is more than just a couple of hundred dollars cheaper. The AR630-TSS-HOT runs $628 at one outlet compared to $1190 for the Kränzle 1122 TST. So about $562 cheaper which can buy a slew of accessories many times over. Plus it is a Commercial unit and parts from Annovi Reverberi parts are readily available. And just over $800 in my dollars makes a big difference. I like the Kränzle, but almost $1700 in my dollars is a bit crazy.
There’s an ar610 I’d love to see you do a test on. I haven’t found anyone on the internet that have reviewed it and I’d love to see it in action
Great review and demo of this pressure washer, Matt. I think I've re-watched this particular video at least a dozen times and it helped me make a decision. I've gone from waterless wash to ONR, to the Worx hydroshot and currently the Sun Joe "bucket joe". Now I'm currently putting together a cordless system involving the AR 630 TSS, a water tank, power inverter and a large battery. Sounds like so much work since the "bucket joe" does all that. But eventually I want to try going into mobile detailing more so.
The Kranzle is too nice to abuse and the Comet's connections aren't very friendly for my needs. Definitely going the OG way with a new hose, 5.0 nozzles, QC fittings, MTM SGS28 and the PF 22.2. The above setup will be my workaround as an apartment dweller with water restrictions. They said we can't use a hose hooked up to the main water supply, not a tank =P.
I live on the first floor and my stall is immediately in front of my door so it's not that bad. Thank you for providing all the important information and keep up the amazing work.
Matt you my man have made my life easier. Especially with all these pressure washer videos. Definitely like the way you think when it comes to quality! I just purchased the karcher setup up with the whole package best investment as of today!! Thanks again for what you do!! Keep at it!!!
Wow. I love this pressure washer. Got it from OG on Black Friday. Used it several car washes so far! It is awesome. Upgraded from the sun joe spx9004 to this. More flow, more pressure, and fast auto on/off!!
David Dear yea i know, got mine at a pawn shop for $300 out the door.got the 630tss with a cracked fan cowling. Replaced it and now its brand new.
Set the water heater at 140F then use a Cash Acme tank booster, basically premixing and set the hot out mix to 120F. The high at the water heater is recommended by American Society of Sanitary Engineering and also get a ultra low density water heater element if running on electric heat.
I have a 40 Gal tank with the Cash Acme and ultra low density water heater elements and it does wonders for at least 2 people in the winter time even. The Cash Acme device extends the hot water use and the ultra low density element smoothens out the hot in the tank as you can sometimes feel waves of cold/hot during a shower sometimes without it. The ultra low density element is also way more efficient.
If you plan on using a recirculation pump, next time I recommend insulating the hot and cold return line in the house during the construction phase. Not only that, but I recommend insulating all water lines with pipe wrap to prevent transfer of heat or condensation build up adjacent to the pipes.
Thank you for your video, I ‘m starting my own autodetail business, I’m buying my equipment.
I was completely wrong brother yuh ou are truly great at what you do and your in depth break down thank you for doing what you do.... your experience and hands on working insight with pressure washers is incredible. I purchased the AR-BLUE CLEAN630. I am now a Obseeed Garage fan....
That happens a lot with me. Thanks for hanging in there.
Let's set that Giant in action.
Man, that’s legit numbers and performance, now I’m rethinking getting a Comet, this will be probably a better option. Awesome video Matt 👍👌
This isn't as complete and simple as a Comet. I'd put this in a different category.
You cannot go wrong with the Comet. It looks very clean when mounted on a clean, white wall. The comet goes well with a Tesla charger. The Kranzle has better performance, but Comet is very tidy on the wall.
@@ObsessedGarage yeah, that's true. thanks
Great to see you carrying this. It’s going to be interesting to see how you set up the wall mount with both house outlets being right on top of one another. That could definitely be a headache.
Another great video Matt! You put a tremendous amount of time and effort into your videos and testing. I’m sure the entire community appreciates your effort. I have learned a great deal from all of them. Please keep them coming!
Thanks man!
Appreciate this test
And all the in-depth testing that you do to make better decisions for us small businesses
I'm ordering this AR today
Thanks again
Ill stick with my k1700 and ultimate accessorie package for now. Get me a hose real and shelf soon and im good for a while.
I bought by Comet before watching and finding out about the AR. This confirms that for my house the comet is the best solely based on the power requirements. Love the Kranzle but the power alone was more of a decision maker than the pricing.
Nerd, I only enjoy these videos since they remind me money can not make you cool.
The real badass setup is having the pump remote installed so you do not need to hear it, same with the vac.
I've ran my kranzle 1322ts on 140* hot water from my rinnai tankless water heater. Didn't have any issues. But it really was too hot. So now I turn both hot and cold spigots on in my garage and get about 110* out of the kranzle. Perfect temp
Good advice. People underestimate how hot 110 degree water feels. That's it a perfect warm water temp.
looks pretty good and does look like it performs well as well as the dba not being too loud. sounds like a nice alternative to the kranzle
Very much so. Personally, I prefer this AR unit to the Kranzle. It may not have the aesthetic refinement of the Kranzle, but it outperforms it where it counts.
I bought the AR610 being a little bit cheap as it's right around half the price of the 630-TSS HOT. I really, really regret it, the TSS is worth every penny on this model. That GFCI plug is absolute junk, can't take a few hits on the ground. I had to replace mine and it's been fine since.
Thanks Guys, I am still researching which PW I want to buy, and its seriously looking like ill be ordering the Kranzle from you guys soon.
Kranzle is the best. These are another lower cost option.
Obsessed Garage I am feeling like if I am going to spend this much I might as well just fork over the extra few hundos and get the best experience 😇
ChevyLee
That’s the smart move! Wait until you can afford the kranzle. I got the 1122tst complete package from OG. Watch his video on the “unboxing” and set up while you wait a few short days to get your gear. Matt has made it all super easy by doing all the investigating for us.
Paul Farmer solid advice. I am currently pricing out DI tank rentals, I have a cr spotless and it lasts me about 10 washes, if I am lucky. Once I get those tank rentals I’ll pull the trigger on the system.
@@ChevyLee86 This AR model outperforms the Kranzle. I'm not sure you'd get a better experience by spending those extra hundos.
Great videos series on testing these small pressure washers. Nicely done!
Matt will you carry this power washer in stock on your website?
Thanks for all you do
Yep...www.obsessedgarage.com/products/og-spec-ar-blue-clean-ar630-tss
The issue with 2.3gpm flow is that the CR Spotless is rated to give no spots at 2gpm or less. If you push more flow through it then it might not be able to remove all solids from the water and give you spots. Just something to think about.
bosoares run a smaller orifice... prob solved LOL
I have this pressure washer. I wall mounted it identically as the custom install solution.
After about 6th months of using this pressure washer with you custom wall mount it has held up to my expectations and then some. The only thing I would like to change is the fitting for the inlet hose. The brass fitting that allows for you to attach your garden house has become loose and is slightly leaking water. After some torquing down and inspecting it turns out it might just be defective. Do you have a solution on your store that can replace this factory piece. Thanks - Cris
FYI - Hydraulic hose is also rated for temp and pressure. It should have a "ISO 18752" rating on it if it's for hydraulic application.
Yup, and you can take your hose to Advanced Auto if you need any areas that need cut out and spliced back together, you can even have them put swivel ends on.
Just tested the hot water coming out of my tap, 180F. And i just put in a new water heater a couple of years ago, so not an old unit. Just a thought.
180?! You could make tea with that water. Turn that heaters thermostat down!
American water heaters don't go past 50 degrees C? In the UK ours go to 95 degrees C. That is around 200 american inch degree medieval units.
They are powered by Gas or Oil. We have mains gas to most houses unless rural then you can use oil.
The hose is made by propulse, not a cheap hose, and it says on it 1400psi, 1900 is absolute max, I have 2 and have never had any issues at all.
I really do like this machine a lot and we have two of them at work that have held up well and are abused daily. We have them on seperate 25 amp circuits. However I really like the Comets portable hose reel for mobile detailing. I guess it's just me
I agree. I was torn on having another option. I don't want to be a retailer that carries a thousand things, but I think this make sense in the Progression type process I'm creating.
I dont know how you live in Florida. I just came back from Marco Island on vacation and I took my car out around 6am. When i say minutes later the car was destroyed, I mean it was annihilated by bugs. You would have thought I just got back from a 3000mile road trip.
Yep...lots of bugs.
Marco is great! Insects/mosquitos not so much..
@@cscorny The area is absolutely gorgeous. I'm just from Ohio and have never seen anything like it bug wise. First world problems I know, but I honestly had a little of a meltdown over it haha

I know it’s not talking about the pressure but that car cover is BADAZZ!!!!!
Coverking Satin Stretch
I installed a hot hose bib in my garage gas 40g water heater set at B my dewalt pressure washer lasted 3 mins lol won't turn on at all now
Good analogy using the Corvette/Porsche comparison.
Brian D. the AR630 is the porsche!!! Believe that!
I believe a 20a circuit should be run a 16 amps continuous. A 15a would be 12 amps (using 80% rule). So the AR would even be pushing the limits of a 20a circuit, I believe, no? Anyone having issues running this on a 20a circuit?
Don't forget to remove the shipping plug with the dip stick that has a vent had a issue already
Hi Matt thanks for the Yoemans work on these power washers the DB rating might be slightly skewed as that I think all the other power washers were measured open air where the AR was in the washbay just a thought john
Yeah, it is a little off, but should be close enough. The sound test isn't super flawed since most of the noise is the water coming out of the gun. I got lazy on this one.
Obsessed Garage I agree I’m sure it’s close enough you just looked a little disappointed in that you thought it was testing a little loud? it sounded (pleasant) over UA-cam I don’t think anyone would be concerned. I wasn’t complaining I was just trying to ease your perceived disappointment no biggie cool channel one of the best john
Damn .. just missed #1
The AR Blue is what peeps are guessing over on DPC’s page .. what timing Haha.
Supposedly having issues with Comet.
For those watching this video long after the post date and into the future, you might be able to get away running this unit on a 15 amp circuit. I personally run my AR630TSS with 5.0 rinse nozzles and foam cannon orifice of 1.5mm. I haven’t gone over 14.4 amps with this setup and it runs great. You can get great foam or poor foam if you don’t use the right soaps.
This helps a lot, that was my only concern and huge reason why I haven’t pulled the trigger on it. What size AMP are you running in your garage?
@@e.cabrera1861 I do have it plugged into a 20 amp outlet but it's not dedicated. It''s actually being shared with my washer but I only ever operate one or the other. Reason for the 20 is I sometimes use a smaller orifice rinse nozzle (25 degree, 4.0 orifice) to blast off stubborn dirt and traffic film buildup. If I'm more diligent with my washes, then I stick to 5.0 or higher.
@@godowarus you definitely sold me on it. I appreciate you getting back to me man. Nothing in my garage shares that 20 amp, by the sound of it I should be more than fine. As far as maintenance on it, nothing too crazy?
@@e.cabrera1861 As long as you use rinse nozzles 5.0 or bigger and a 1.25mm foam cannon orifice, you should be able to get by on a 15 amp circuit. By the way, 15 amp outlets look like the normal "face" but a 20 amp outlet has one of the lines looking like a ' T '. But always check your breaker if it is indeed a 20 amp circuit or just a 20 amp outlet on a 15 amp circuit. As far as maintenance goes, I have changed the oil only once and seals are still good. I suggest looking at The Clean Garage website as they sell the oil as well as replacement seals.
@@godowarus electrical stuff has never been my thing, but you make it easy to understand. I double checked and I do have a 20amp circuit dedicated for the garage, however the outlets are 15amp outlets. That doesn’t limit the circuit to only 15amps because of the outlets? Excuse my ignorance.
Do you think the 1.25 orifice on the foam cannon will be ok for long term? Just ordered the kobrajet, mosmatic gun and want from you, but had a question on the orifice if I need to order the 1.5 or the 1.25 will be ok
Yes, 1.25 will be fine.
Doing great work Matt, thank you.!! André
Great review. Can you post the AWG of the cord?? I would expect 12AWG but it doesn't look that heavy? Its really screwed up that these manufactures do this as the NEC states that a 20A breaker shouldn't exceed 80 percent of its rating which is 16A unless the breaker is labeled otherwise (AS you mentioned its a dedicated breaker but must be labeled for it.) Even on its own circuit, 19A is pushing it big time. Makes me wonder if this one or the Kranzle are UL listed. They really need a 30A breaker with 10AWG and on a L5-30R twist lock receptacle which then would require a GFCI breaker.
That 80% rating is for constant draw appliances. I'm assuming they don't fall under that category with an auto on/off feature. But also you'll find some space heaters will draw about 1800w, so that's very close to 15a, which is what most outlets are in homes. For example my convection space heater draws about 1800w
Can you test the ( AR BLUE CLEAN AR613 SERIES ELECTRIC PRESSURE WASHER).
Great job on your pressure testing series.
Thank you.
The 630 is much, much better for the same price or get the Comet.
Excellent testing.

Hotsy type with burner units the hot water is pushed out after the pump side.the hot water never passes through the pump itself
Matt I appreciate all the info you provide to the community. Only issue is that you were getting my new car wet in the video 😂
Good video,. BTW, the emmissivity of water is 0.95, so the water you measured at the tap is about 7 degrees warmer than you measured.

do you have a video on that storage case in which you have the Porsche.
Can anyone confirm the size of the mounting base? I have a stainless shelf that is 8” x 16”. I know the 8” depth will work. Wondering if the 16” length is enough for this unit.
Yes, that will work. We use and 18" x 8", but 16" will work.
Matt you did the benchmarks on the AR630 whats your final thoughts? I have been detailing cars since 2000 , worked for every car company from toyota to mercedes benz and had my hands on many pressure washers and guns. The AR630tss is probably one of the best pressure washer i have used i quite some time. For its built-well Hefty 65 ibs and exact start-stop function, this thing is a game changer. I use mine with a 30 Amp Firman whisper series generator with a 20 amp 3 prong outlet cord for $65
It's a good option. I'd still pick a Kranzle over this, but this one is good.
I must say Matt, everywhere I turn your company has the end-all solution to the problem. From locking extension cords to a modified Aunt jemima’s cake batter recipe. Keep it up the good work!
Bought! Thanks for the great review🤘🏼
IMO the best Electric unit for Detailing is the Northstar Auto stop 3000psi Electric Unit. For washing cars these 1500 psi units work but for under sides , motor, lifted trucks you need more power IMO
Ha, ha... No, those are the typical janky crank shaft type American pressure washers.
@@ObsessedGarage really? Interesting. Why are they junk? Because they are made in America? It's a 1300 dollar pressure washer. I hope it's not junk. These 1500psi units just are not enough power for real-world use for me at least.
Just look at them. There are a bunch of those types of brass head, rather lazy engineered machines. If you want American quality, you need to go a Cat Pump, but you are going to spend double that.

Exlent informative video. As always your videos are so detail that does not require any catalogue . Thanks for that. I want to know which pressure washer is best for commercial use , I mean daily 15/20 cars to wash.
you should go with k1322 bro if you are using it that heavy you need to be able to rebuild it in couple of years because you are gonna wear it down no matter which one you get so kranzle is the best option when it comes to rebuild i believe
In your opinion, you think this washer would be good enough for vent a hood cleaning on food trucks? Im looking for a similar system to build on a trailer with a generator to be mobile. Thanks alot.
Hmmm...I think I would rather have more pressure. This will work, but it won't be nearly as efficient as gas.
Great review!
Dude you remind me of Jeff Goldblum, big time.
Thanks Matt! "Crazy" work as always!
I heard you say many bad things about this unit through the video. Do you have a video where you specify what exactly is so bad on this unit as far as build quality? Or a side by side comparison between that and the other unit you mentioned that was built better?
I do not.
@ObsessedGarage might make for a good video. 👍🏻 visually I'm not sure I can see a difference in quality, at least not as bad as you make it sound anyway. But I'm no pressure washer expert. You also mentioned its only "couple hundred dollars" difference but the AR im finding for around 700 and the Kranzle is like 1200. Thats $500. On top of that, the AR pump is also "supposed" to be superior. I like your videos and overall i trust your advice but im having a hard time seeing how the Kranzle is better. I'm looking to buy new pressure washer and I'm just trying the price difference is actually justified.
I drive out in the country a lot and get tons of bugs on the front of the truck. I swear hot pressure washer gets them off the best.
What type of quick connect are you using for that power washer

What's wrong with pressure washing cannon your car?
How can I find out what 40 degree tip would work best for my pressure washer?
Matt am I obsessed? I listen to your podcasts and watch your videos and I am not really into to detailing? I always analyze all options before I make a purchase. That is what you do best is educate people on these items. I think I am always just chasing knowledge. Keep building the brand!!
Example of my obsession. My son is a pretty good junior tournament golfer. I am constantly searching for knowledge on equipment. It has gotten to the point I know more about the golf equipment than the people in the pro shops.
Can you test the pressure washer that Griot's Garage sells? its $300, 1.2GPM, 2200 PSI.
It is an AR 2N1. I can't believe they would even sell that. It's the worst of all of the AR cheap ones.

First of all, I didn't change the price, Chris, my controller did. The margin less the shipping cost was less than 20%, so it didn't make sense to sell it for that price. It is still lower priced than most anywhere else, so I'm not sure I need to justify. I'm not doing any of this for free and most don't expect me to do so. Shoot, you imagine the cost of the camera equipment I need to shoot this video as well as pay Bryce to edit it.
Sounds like rich people problems. You want some cheese with that whine? The people that bought the ar630tss-hot at $599 were sent the wrong unit. They got the plane jane version without total stop. @@376MCL no investor is in it to not make a profit. He's doing what he loves and passing on valuable information and cutting out the crap we don't need. That comes at a cost. Correct
Matt for whatever reason my foam cannon with either orofice size with my AR makes the AR jump and kick and seems like it is harming the machine ?
That sounds normal. You definitely want a 1.25mm orifice on it. Do not use 1.1mm.
@@ObsessedGarage I thought the machine was going to break with all the clanging and shaking while using the foam cannon. So that’s “normal” . Without the foam cannon it is super smooth. DID you have the pressure turned down???? I'm getting 1890 PSI at 2.14 GPM
Cyberslug1 what hose and setup are you using to get those numbers?
What's the noise level on this one? I have the VE52, and I'm looking to see if there is a quieter one to make the neighbours less annoyed when washing the car. It's a townhouse complex, so everyone's much closer together. Any input is appreciated. :)
FYI I did end up getting it, and it's much quieter than any other electric pressure washer I've had. It also doesn't have the whine some of them have.
Did you forgot to tell us about the pressure dial? You can adjust the pressure with this pressure washer
That is an unloader valve. That is not the best way to adjust pressure.
Matt, I have a AR 145s that won't quit running with my aftermarket hose and foam cannon. Any suggestions on why this could be happening?
A leak in the line somewhere.
And what would the cost be for just the pump&motor? The AR610 hits the price point sweet spot, 15amps, but no TSS
This will be $599.
Can you test the canpump 1800psi 2.5 gpm. Pressure washer?
Love the pressure washing videos! Over at pressure washers direct, there are some 1500-2000 psi with 3 gpm models. Dewalt and Pressure Pro both make one. I'm sure you're tired of all the testing but seems like you've found your sweet spot as far as gpm and psi are concerned. Any plans of testing these higher gpm units? They are just as expensive as the Porsche Kranzle but if the output is more without needing the dedicated amperage. Might be worth looking into. Either way, great work and appreciate the honesty!
Someday I will, but most of those are more than what we need.

I own this one. I hate to say it but it was the worst 600+ I spent. Leaks oil after the first week. Customer service was nice but it took several months to get any replacement parts. and it started leaking again. Avoid it!
That has been the story with all of them. We will chase and fix it working with AR. We've done the same thing with Kranzle ironing out issues with shipping and also Comet. That's the value I'm hoping to provide to get it right.
I got one i use daily. Never had an issue. Don't know why you would wait "several months" when you can easily buy parts online. Yes you can talk warranty, but time is money to me. I'd rather pay, and have the machine make me money vs wait months
Can it be fed on a gravity tank or would you need a pump?
It will self prime.
I have the Westinghouse 4500 inverter generator and has the 30A breaker....Could I dedicate this machine to that breaker and be fine?
When it comes to pressure washers, will 100psi and.1gpm make a big difference?
Not really
Sounds good, thank you very much!
What brand of soap did you use in your foam cannon? You said your not going to foam your cars, you learned your lesson. What did you mean by that? Thx
I use Adam's Car Shampoo. I'm not sure I said that about not foaming. If I did, I didn't mean it.
Obsessed Garage thank you for the soap info. Have you ever had a chance to try Xtreme Solutions “hawaiian suds” foaming soap?
@Tundra Whisperer I’m pretty sure Matt just meant he wasn’t going to foam his car for this pressure washer test only. That’s why he foamed one of the columns of his way bay instead.
Great review, I'm going to get this instead of the Comet.....but you're sold out!
We have more coming.
@@ObsessedGarage Awesome!
Nice that you’re offering this without the “hot” 😂 didn’t really see a use for hot water for a pressure washer 🤔 engine bay maybe 🤷♂️
Hot water helps a lot if you clean your car in the winter up north. It cuts through all of the salt and grime really easy. Plus your hands don't freeze off lol
Yeah, I would definitely be using hot water. The HOT version would need a boiler that most won't have. Up North you'd be washing at 110-120 degrees, so paying the extra $130 for the HOT options isn't worth it. The normal is good to about 160.
In an industrial setting, the heat helps liquify grease when washing equipment.
Do you still have this unit?
Would like to see a video on the Mountain bike!
Wash bay 1.0 cabinets would look great in my garage......
They will be for sale later this year!
