I'm lucky enough to be friends with one of the main artists behind this game. She's VERY proud of her role in making the art and I'm glad to see it pay off. :)
I played the demo for it a few months ago and quite enjoyed it. It was charming and relaxing. It's not the kind of game I would expect would get more "challenging" as said in the review. The longer levels would make sense from a narrative perspective, as you start as - I believe - a little girl moving into a new bedroom. But then you move into a dorm, an apartment, etc, so by extension, your life and the things you have and need to unpack also expand.
im excited for this game! i think it would be great to play when i need to relax or when im bored or just when i need a break. i love organizing my stuff, it makes me feel ive got a hold of my life and everything’s where it’s supposed to be. it’s just a healing process. so i hope this game would also give me a bit relaxing feeling!
Oh man, this looks like the kind of chilled, mundane busywork that's RIGHT up my street! Thanks for the heads-up and the good review! Just wishlisted it, and will most likely be buying tomorrow when it releases :-D
I think a sequel where you can also unpack, assemble and move the furniture would be awesome. I like the concept of this, but it definitely could go further.
This would be good for a horror drama. Like say the room and objects get darker with each move, and wennever get the background for the scenes as the moving person gets into darker and darker settings.
Dingier apartments, worse and worse furniture, then drugs, guns, weird stuff.. Could totally imagine that. Imagine playing this and it starts to look like the room of a serial killer
im trying to get my mom to check out video games that arent just microtransaction and ad filled mobile games, and ive had my eye on unpacking for a bit for this. seems like it would be right up a much more casual gamers alley!
as a person who has moved many times and will probably move many more, optimizing the best way to move and decorate appeals to me so I guess I'll try it
Replay value is highly overrated. I have never once thought "Damn I finished this game. Wish I could immediately replay it again very slightly different". Unnecessary grind or roguelites forcing you to replay just to be a tad stronger to actually have a chance to play has been one of the worst things that is in most games of the last 10 years.
You definitely can lay things out differently, but I'm not sure I would personally replay this. That said, I also feel the game is long enough to justify its cost, especially on gamepass.
I was hoping for 15, I may get it on sale if it goes down to that, though theres not much of a difference so I may just get it at full price if other games don't take up some of my money
Mine was that they referred to unpacking a house as a relaxing activity. My god, that is one of the worst, most stressful things I can imagine ... right behind actually getting that stuff from one house to the other.
@@AzhreiVep is it because it is physically taxing and on a time crunch, or do you not like organizing things for another reason (mentally fatiguing, maybe)? If that later, then yeah, this would definitely not be your jam
It's pretty, but after two hours with it, I have to say it's a pretty bad game. And no, I'm not "the wrong person for this type of game" - love me some House Flipper or Stardew Valley, but everything in this feels shallow. Beautiful pixel art, but that's all really.
I think I was testing my PS4 controller to see how the controller support worked, and it changed the buttons to match my controller. For the record, the controller support is good.
@@aturchomicz821 no? This game literally looks and plays like something from Nitrome or Armor Games. Indie games are getting more and more expensive recently.
the price is definitely putting me off because you can get other indie games that last the same amount of time for a fraction of the price. and this has much more basic code/design than a lot of those, too
umm so i totally went ahead and bought it anyway 🙈 have been enjoying it but it defo isn't worth the price if you don't have money to burn. just a relaxing game not much else to it. if you're looking for an affordable indie game that's worth every penny, get journey of the broken circle... one of the best and most meaningful games i've ever played

The art style is really nice, and consistent too!
She did a great job!
the sprites are so nice, all the objects are so cute and charming

Bought! Downloading now.

game pass has been so good! can't wait to try this one out!
Lowkey, I've played unpacking more than I have Forza Horizon 5. 😂
@@EastSide_LB beat unpacking the second day it was out. haven't booted up Forza yet

Interesting concept if nothing else. I do feel it lacks a sense of replay value if it is so important where you place the objects.

Some games have replay value, others don't. This is one that doesn't overall.
I'm currently replaying it just because I enjoyed it quite a bit the first time ^^
This game is really enjoyable. Had the demo for a while, glad it's finally out =)
I just saw this and put it on download for when I wake up, sounds about as chill of a game as I thought, can't wait to kill some time on it :D
been waiting for this game for a while! excited
This is stressful lol but art is beautiful. There is always something to organize and clean irl

Wish it was $10
this is my game xD really like the idea, feels calming
When talking about the problem of not knowing about what an item was, I gotta ask, what was the object you were moving around as that stumped me.
That was a clothes hamper. I had a hard time placing it too.
@@gluetasteswell ah ha, I see it now.
im stuck on level 3, Idk where to put the frisbee ?? does anyone know?
under the bed
Okay, but why doesn't he know what a laundry basket is?
Nice review Elise! 👍🏻 (I don't know what's about a thumbs up emoji that makes it seem sarcastic but I assure you it's not)
a comment to please our almighty overlord and feed engagement to the algorithm!
This looks so cute!
My biggest surprise is that the reviewer doesnt know what a laundry basket is

Love this game
Yeah, yeah, yeah, but what about the PVP?!
Why is there PlayStation buttons on screen when its not on PlayStation?

Sounds like cruel and unusual punishment. For someone who loathes moving homes that is. Or for people who own to much junk!
It's not a game for everyone! But some people will love it.
It looks like it would be a really good $5 game…
Well, it is on GamePass, so...
19.99 for a flash game?

I understand why people may like this game, but dear god it looks and sounds as boring as watching the paint dry.
Not a very relaxing game as it's filled to the brim with far leftist politics 😢
