I love the Tattoo Rodeo album but didn't know anything about the band. Thanks. Some other gems to consider Blackeyed Susan: Electric Rattlebone Shameless: Queen 4 A Day - members of Pretty Boy Floyd Robin Black: Planet Fame Contraband: s/t Rock supergroup
Man, Blackeyed Susan. Nice! Philly band, you may or may not know that one of the guitar players was the Keyboard player in Cinderella right before hooking up with Dean.
I was in junior high in 1991 , as the hair metal bands I loved started to fade , and Nirvana showed up . I remember Warrant Cherry Pie , Skid Row Slave , and the GnR Illusions records being the last collective gasp . Motley doing the 94 Corabi thing seemed like the death rattle to that scene and sound . I then discovered the Black Crowes and started to go a different direction in general . Great video !
@@Shakedownshakedown I remember the first two Crowe records ( with Southern Harmony being an all time favorite still today) and the Izzy Stradlin JuJu Hounds record being my go to . I would get into like The Jayhawks and dive deep into the Stones with Sticky Fingers and Exile . All while learning to play guitar ..
Thank you for this series Brendon. It is exactly what I've been looking for. I too grew up in the glam metal era (albeit here in New Zealand), so can really identify with the genera. Your video's have sent me down an all new rabbit hole of trying to find CD's from all these glam bands I've never heard of down here. Its great fun. Please keep this series coming!
Hi Andrew! I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying the series so much! Us Glam Metal fanatics have to stick together…keep rockin’ and good luck on your musical hunt!
I LOVE this series of yours. I have some of these CDs you feature and still get the thrill of finding one whenever I stumble into one. Please keep it up!
Great way to start the day with a new Glam Metal Gems video! Glad to see this becoming an ongoing series! Can't wait for more! Only one today that's already in my music collection is Tall Stories. For viewers who don't know them, I'd say their sound is more AOR than glam metal -- but you could lump them into either subgenre. Good stuff. THX, Brendon!
1991 had a lot of good releases that were overlooked because of the big music change happening in the mainstream. 1990-1993 had some fantastic music coming out that was overlooked.
The first Tattoo Rodeo record is so good! For being one of those early 90's bluesy bands that record labels dressed up they had some quality music that didn't sound over produced. Strung Out, Sweet Little Vikki, Blonde Ambition and Shotgun Johnny are my favorite tracks.
Hey Brendon!! Great video. Some great & very under appreciated bands in these. I got to see Kane Robert's play with Alice Cooper in 1988 on the Raise Your Fist And Yell tour when I was 16. A fantastic show that Faster Pussycat opened for promoting their debut album. Some great memories there. I have both of Kanes solo albums from back in the day and am friends with him on Facebook where he has promoted and sold his more recent solo stuff. Super cool guy. Take care and thanks again for the great vids.
Great vid! The Tall Stories album is excellent (& the reason that Augeri got the Journey gig). I've heard the Tattoo Rodeo album once but added it to the purchase list along with the other albums mentioned.
McQueen Street is outstanding. The 80's and early 90's had two major problems for bands like this. Record companies, and market saturation. The first part is pretty self explanatory. As for the market, there was so many talented musicians and bands, that there just wasn't room for everyone. It's really unfortunate because you could buy a random rock/metal album from an under the radar band, and more often than not, it had some really good stuff on it. Lots of bands hung on that edge. Some became all time favorites. Spread Eagle self titled, Wildside Under The Influence, and Saigon Kick The Lizard, are just a few off the top of my head. McQueen Street is definitely in this group. Lots of great songs on that album.
1. Wings of Heaven - Magnum 2. Blue Murder - Blue Murder 3. Street Ready - Leatherwolf 4. Slam - Dan Reed Network 5. Law of the Order - Shark Island 6. Badlands - Badlands 7. Crown of Thorns - Crown of Thorns 8. Long Cold Winter - Cinderella 9. Wicked Sensation - Lynch Mob 10. Pride - White Lion 11. Double Eclipse - Hardline 12. Backstreet Symphony - Thunder
That T-Ride album is great. It sounds like music from an alternate universe. Such a unique sound. Interestingly, “You and Your Friend” was later covered by the industrial rock band Snake River Conspiracy. BTW, what do you think about Life, Sex, and Death?
Now Your just being Mean Sporting a Ratt Shirt!!!! Lol... McQueen St. Been along time since I heard them. Oh Man... Kane Roberts Album You are Showing is Excellent in My Opinion!!!
I was pretty excited when I was digging through old boxset of stuff from my childhood and found the Ratt shirt. I don’t even remember getting it but I must have and thankful that I still have it.
I bought a VHS tape in the 90s with some rock videos and one of them was Money by McQueen Street. So 9 years ago I bought the CD thru Amazon. Yeah a great album with some sleaze influence I must add
Hey Brendon I was hoping you may be able to help me...idk If you have it but I have the Beatles in mono cd box set, they come with resealable cd sleeves and I was wondering do you know what size that I can get? I have some resealable cd sleeves but they're for the cd jewel cases...the ones I need are for the digipak type that are are smaller.. please help..thanks Ricky
Kane Robert is definitely essential although pretty unknown to the majority…. Tattoo Rodeo is a true classic but absolutely not glam. Much rather MHR with a southern twist (the second one “Skin” even more). Tall Stories is a similar true classic but either not glam. In my book it’s a MHR/AOR hybrid (my preferred blend) 🙌🏻♥️🎸
Hey Brendon, I was never into the glam metal stuff too much. Motley Crew and Poison is as far as I got. I’m more of a Classic Rock 80’s guy as you know.
@@BrendonSnyder its worth looking for, nuno bettencourt guests on it quite a bit, released in 91, a real hard rock gem, something you wouldn't expect from dweezil.

Glad to hear you’re enjoying it Wally!
really appreciate the "group pic" at the end... makes it easier to screenshot & go explore these suggestions ...thanx man
You’re welcome!

I graduated in 91 and I did the exact same thing, thank God for the Crowes for giving me that lifeline in that dark era. Ha
🍻

Excellent! Glad you found some new bands to search out.

It sure did!
1992 too..i still discover gems every now and then.
Saints And Sinners is one of my favourite that I got last year - very, very good!
Yeah it’s great! I included Saints And Sinners lone album in the last episode #5, see link ua-cam.com/video/kyLaKPBy2p8/v-deo.html
And we like the last House Of Lords with that name!
I recommend Danger Dangers second album Screw It! from 1991. Some really good tunes and very underrated

I picked up McQueen Street randomly at a used book store a couple of years ago knowing nothing about it. Didn’t regret it a bit, great album.
Great video Brendon! That T-Ride album is definitely an interesting listen for sure!
It was so weird at the time but then grew on me to where it’s a favorite now.
Well done! Please keep this format alive! I badly need to know every single glam metal gem out there! 💎🤟🏻

Love these kind of shows
I've got the second tattoo rodeo album. Great stuff
1. Wings of Heaven - Magnum
2. Blue Murder - Blue Murder

11. Double Eclipse - Hardline
12. Backstreet Symphony - Thunder
Lots of good ones in there!
The T-Ride cd is one of my favourite albums of all time-took me years to track it down! Still a unique band and still ahead of their time.
Yeah that is not an album that I see very often. Probably only once or twice in 30 years.
@@exithero A fellow T-Ride fan! Nice🤘🏻
When you said between queen and van halen I immediately thought Extreme
There is defiantly some Extreme in the mix too.
Love the McQueen Street. My radio station played the Song "Time" a lot too off that 1st album.
ABSOLUTELY love the Kane Roberts album!
Watch youre videos Brendon daily lately my girlfriend also now into classic glam metal thanks for indepth info bands i never found at time
OMG T-Ride! Great album!
You know it! 👍
Good picks.. Have you heard the Front? Definitely worth checking out..
Just picked up the Kane Roberts album which came with a bonus disc very impressed with the album purely on hearing what you say about it.
That T-Ride album is great. It sounds like music from an alternate universe. Such a unique sound. Interestingly, “You and Your Friend” was later covered by the industrial rock band Snake River Conspiracy.
BTW, what do you think about Life, Sex, and Death?
Kane Roberts - Saints and Sinners is a brilliant album. Have to check out Tall Stories and McQueen Street albums.

Both bands were marketed and promoted with the Glam Metal bands of the day so I categorize them as such.
Hey Brendon, I was never into the glam metal stuff too much. Motley Crew and Poison is as far as I got. I’m more of a Classic Rock 80’s guy as you know.
That’s ok, you’re allowed to skip the videos you’re not into.
@@BrendonSnyder I do watch them for reference only. 🥸😁
White Sister is nice and it's too bad they've been forgotten.
Jelous on of the detonator T
Yeah it’s a fave! 👍
Hi Brandon. Have you heard about the bands Talisman and Dan Reed Network?
Esben from Norway
Yes both. But I wouldn’t consider Dan Reed part of Glam Metal.
Fun fact: T-Ride guitarist Jeff Tyson is a student of Joe Satriani.
Hey Brendon. You ever heard Lee Aaron or Desmond Child’s group Rouge. The Runners in the night album I bought after seeing them on SNL.
Yes, both. But unfortunately the Desmond Child solo albums are no where near as good IMO as the songs he wrote for others.
Would you put dweezil zappas confessions into glam metal? Its a classic 🤘
I’m not familiar with that particular album.
@@BrendonSnyder its worth looking for, nuno bettencourt guests on it quite a bit, released in 91, a real hard rock gem, something you wouldn't expect from dweezil.
Here in my hometown you got mucked if you said that you bought the album because you liked the albumcover
Weird because I’ve not met one person who didn’t do that back in the day. It was all we had to go on sometimes.
Thanks for not calling it hair metal, some people man..
