For some reason, my favorites were the early Seeburg 45 players with visible mechanism. It just ran back-and-forth in a straight line, but was fascinating to a boy eight years old. Today I have a computer jukebox with over 8000 songs, but I can't watch it work.
Hello, do you authorize the use of the jukebox image for the musical background of a flashback video? The video will not be monetized. Thanks for your attention, Sergio in Brazil!
That takes me back to my childhood and I'm only 33...lol. I was raised on all sorts of music and I thank my parents for that. Sound quality is awesome!!!!
@BKuchau Grew up in Cal back in those times and everything was "fun" back then. Now! at times I see what is happening nowadays, and then I have to ask myself the great question "WHAT HAPPENED"? I was around 10 when this song came out, but I knew in my heart, at that age, I love Rock @ Roll..Gee! seems like a dream now!
This is great ! Brings back memories of my teen years, Nothing sounds quite like a Juke Box, i always stood close to them and tried to look cool, Thanks for that !
@maynardcat You're absolutely right. I finally read on a vintage LP site that the laser on a CD doesn't give you the fullness, richness, the nuances on a recording... for example a beautiful Sinatra blue ballad...that the stylus needle in the deeper groove of a vinyl record does.
Gawd I loved watching that Wurlitzer work - I thought the EB's played it faster - and the analog sound on the 45 is a treat - scratches and all. Great post - thanks.
I remember the jukebox days...the sock hops ! Miss them. Miss them and the awesome sound from those vinyl records ! The Everly Brothers the best harmony duo team ever ! RIP Mr. Phil Everly.
@Highland804 I have always like that model it is the Wurlitzer 1015 made in 1946 it is a 24 selection jukebox, playing only one side of the 78 records . It is the most popular, and most recognized Wurlitzer jukebox. The Wurlitzer Peacock is also one of my favorites.
Are you retired Air Force??? I was at Castle AFB from '61-65' . Even though it was the beginning of Nam, they were the best years of my life... Thanks for the comments... Visit my site if you like, I have more coming. Again, thanks
Seems to me that neil young totally ripped off the everlys music for his harvest moon, although young may have slowed the tempo down. Maybe there was an arrangement by everlys for young to do that. Still love this song.
In praise or the 'messager'? OK, nice machine, indeed. (But) think about the once youthful fingers dropping coins into the slot; what was the connection then, and now? What is the conclusion to such a fine song? An oldster with fantastic memories can be able to sing along pretty darn good! They will be alone with their memories....they will be thankful for this posting too.
Great song and beautiful jukebox. I have 7 1950s jukes including 3 Rockolas, 3 Seeburgs, and 1 model 2404 Wurlitzer jukebox(1960). I love the "pages" on your machine and would prefer your juke to the 1015 for my personal use. The old machines are beautiful but not very practical with their small number of selections.
Written by Sonny Curtis in 1960 while he was in U.S. Army basic training at Fort Ord California. Sonny and the Crickets from Lubbock became the instrumental back-ups for the Everly Brothers during the 1959-1963 part of their career.
"Vet", ah yes, such a beautiful ring to that. I'm very proud that I served..., from 61-65... I was there during the Cuban crisis, and the start of Vietnam. Though I too never had to actually go there, I was sure there to Launch all or B-52's to Guam. Though it was scary, and I was Flight Line support, I wouldn't have wanted to miss it for anything. As for the music, my LarchSt here in UA-cam site says it all. My next CD will include "Mary-Lou". It takes about 6 months to complete a CD. Later
You know you are right. I am not sure why, but all digital postings of the same songs seem to be missing something. They sound similar, but not exactly the same. They seem to be missing the original warmth and life the song had as analog. They have a very clear and clean sound, but a little cold sounding.
@TheMrRockola That is quite a collection you have. I once had a Wurlitzer 1100 that my cousin gave me when I was very young. I sold it for the same reasons, only 24 one sided selections of 78's, and bought a 1950's Wurltizer that played 45s. I wish I had not sold it now, but being very young at the time I just wanted someting to play rock n roll 45's on.
Grew up with the Everlys and love their music. My old 1950 Pontiac did not have a very good radio but I listened to the Everyly brothers every chance I got.
There use to be a rumour back in the day, that a midget operated the jukebox from inside, turning handles etc. Of course this was nonsense until one day one of these things got tipped over in a bar room brawl, the side door popped open and out ran a battered and bruised dwarf
It's kind of interesting that you chose the Everly Brothers' "Walk Right Back"' for this video. You may be interested to know that Phil Everly passed away last weekend. He was 74. Afond tribute to a great performer.
Looks like a Pickering V-15 or a Pickering P/AC-1 it's a fantastic cartridge that doesn't pick up a lot of noise & the needles are easy to find & can track up to 6 grams
where can I find a 1956 Wurlitzer like that ? my parents jukebox Wurlitzer got stolen 600.Dollars ,when I cleaned the house out, It was made from parts ,cabnet, etc.
Ebay or your local Craiglist, I haven't seen any Wurlitzer 2000 models for sale in a long time. I did find this model 1900, but it is not as collectible as the 2000 model, it holds less records and doesn't have the turning pages. www.ebay.com/itm/Vtg-RARE-1956-WURLITZER-Centennial-1900-JUKEBOX-loaded-w-45s-1800-2000-2100-/400863139024?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5d554e14d0

I love this song....I didn't realize it went back to 1956.

Wonderful memories. Meet after school, drink cherry Cokes and play music for 3 for a quarter.
Simple, innocent wonderful good times.
That takes me back to my childhood and I'm only 33...lol. I was raised on all sorts of music and I thank my parents for that.
Sound quality is awesome!!!!
I remember playing songs by the Everly Brothers on the jukebox in the 60s. It was fun.
This song and Bird Dog were the Everlys' best.
It has been a long time since the Wurlitzers were a common thing....I remember them well......God, the memories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember this tune as a kid - now I'm amazed at the drum groove in it - and it's a great tune as well!
Awesome! Can't beat analog!

Legends ♡ R.I.P. Phil
UA-cam is an amazing place, thanks for your efforts, thanks for the memories...
This hit by The Everly Brothers, along with Ebony Eyes, was the 78th #1 song of the Rock Era in the United Kingdom.
Great memory, watching the Wurlitzer brought back a lost time in my life and a great musical memory

Beautiful machine, and great tune!
a UK Number 1 for the Everly Brothers in March 1961
timeless! flawless high harmony from ( the late ) Phil Everly, beautifully goes with his older brother ( Don's ) awesome melody ( ies ) singing!

This one and Birddog were my favorite Everly Bros. pieces.

I just imagine the bass that thing is kicking. I am listening this on my Bose headphones. I hear some bass. Amazing.
this is the coolest thing ever thanks!
good Sound!
analog rules !!! this is amazing !!!
The Wurlitzer I covet is the round-shaped one with the bubbles up the sides...this one sounds great, though.
Wow

beautiful toy...XD
i want your juke box !!!
This has to be the best format for a video -- the great sound of this classic tune as played on a real jukebox! Thanks for this!
HAHAAAA~! That is wicked cool!!!
song starts at 0:40
Grew up with the Everlys and love their music. My old 1950 Pontiac did not have a very good radio but I listened to the Everyly

Well, nature is analog! So, in my opinion, for something to sound "natural" it would have to be analog.
There use to be a rumour back in the day, that a midget operated the jukebox from inside, turning handles etc.

In 1956 I was 8 years old, thats when I first remember the Everly Brothers. But I have loved them every since. That was 62 years ago.
I need one ? APV.
